"The food is over priced and not very good, we will not be going back!! From my Mexican friend, she says "it needs more flavor, and more sauce on the flautas, rice had very little flavor". All around just not good food!!!"

"Sometimes you get tired of the same ol', same ol'--especially when it comes to Mexican food. Anyone can slap together a tortilla and some cheese and call it good, but Sonora Grill has taken Mexican food to a higher level by adding a little twist to what they serve. Even an item like refried beans tastes different here--lighter and seasoned just right. I had the chicken quesadilla (I know, I know--SUCH an adventurer), and added a little of the spicy red dipping sauce that comes with your free freshly made chips, and I had a little party in my mouth. I once ventured out and ordered the Conchinita Pibil--I generally don't eat foods I can't pronounce :)--and it was a decadent surprise. What are you waiting for? Go eat now!"

"They were not busy, it took us 20 minutes to see our waitress. She was unable to take our drink order so we had to wait another 10 minutes for the bar tender to take our drink order. She finally returned for our food order. When the food finally come, the salad was good but the meat in the carnitas was so salty we were not able to eat it. The margarita was the bright spot."

"We were there to have a farewell luncheon for an employee. We had to adjust the reservation because we had a few unexpected tag a longs. I let the Hostess know and she moved our seating to the back room. No big deal. But when we saw where we were seated, it was against the wall in 1/2 booth 1/2 chair ordeal. And the table was split for 6 on each. Quite honestly I was expecting a long row of tables instead of the break. The booths made for uncomfortable people when trying to converse with others. The food was great. We came at 11 AM to ensure we would miss the busy lunch hours, we still waited for quite a while for our food. We only had 12 in our party, nothing any restaurant with an empty house couldn't handle, I thought."

"The service, food, and ambiance was great. We were seated almost immediately because of OpenTable app. The service was very friendly and the fact they moved us to the private dining area because we had extra people show up made the whole experience feel a little VIP which is pretty cool considering we didn't pay extra for it. I would ask for my waitress again if i knew who she was. First time in a while my wife recommended we give extra tip."

"Bought the $40 coupon for $20 via KSL and made reservations via the web. Sat in a booth, but should have asked for a table. The booth was not comfortable. The food, but not up to the par we expected of the Sonora's reputation. No way I'd pay $40 plus drinks and tip."

"Food was good and service was quick. A little confusion when first arriving as we'd made reservations but got the "it will be a few minutes" line. Why then did I make a reservation? However, we were seated within two minutes, so it was more of a poor communication issue. When the food came, it was hot but we had no utensils. Before we could get a word in, the server was gone and not to be found. So we had to steal from the next table. Little things I know, and I would go back. But it's the little things that are remembered.."

"Our first visit. Facility immediately impressed us. Very cordial staff. Appetizers were fantastic! Great margaritas. Service was very quick...but long enough to offer confidence that food was being properly prepared (as opposed to microwaved...and you know what I mean here). My measure of Mexican cuisine is chili rellenos. If they're good, then the restaurant passes my test. Chili rellenos are always either excellently and properly prepared or what I call Mexican corn dogs. These rellenos were fantastic! Liana's burrito was absolutely unbelievable! All of our dishes were very well prepared with quality ingredients. And presentation was truly enjoyable! No corner-cutting at this place! Overall rating: EXCELLENT! WE WILL BE BACK!"

"Service was excellent once we were seated; however we were very frustrated to have a reservation and be made to wait in the lobby until everyone waiting (including people who arrived after us without a reservation) were seated. The hostess explained (on the walk to the table) that they like to give those with reservations booths. We would have liked to have been informed when we arrived. . .
Chips and salsa (both tomatillo and a chipotle seasoned red) were excellent."

"Right off the bat we were served warm beer. The Guacamole is "what they are known for" but it was bland, It was avocado with a little tomato. We ended up pooring the salas into the Guacamole to get flavor. The Chili Relleno had so much beer batter on it that you couldn't taste the chili or spices. This was our second time there and it has been poor food both times. The atmosphere is nice and the restaurant is clean but that doesn't make up for the food."

"Went for Valentines Day as recommended by my gf so it was a bit crowded, which can be a good sign. Highly recommend making a reservation if going for an occasion or weekend visit. The food was amazing, especially the arroz con pollo and the tomatillo salsa! The prices are moderate, but worth it We had guacamole, chips, salsa, two entrees, and a margarita and made it out of there under $60 (keep in mind we ordered a single $12 specialty margarita). The service was awesome and the staff seemed to really love their jobs, with the exception of the reception desk gals.
We will definitely be eating here again soon."

"Sonora is an awesome Mexican restaurant. I personally think its hard to find upscale Mexican restaurants, but Sonora is one of them. The food is gourmet and very good. They have an awesome and quite authentic menu of dishes that you would find at a Mexican family's dinner table and then classed up a bit to fit nice restaurant standards of presentation etc. Sonora is very original and very good. Try it out and you won't be disappointed."
