"This restaurant is a little off the beaten path, in fact it can be downright difficult to find. That said, it's worth the search. The food was very tasty. I attended dinner on a quiet Monday night with few others in the restaurant. My daughter had the sea bass which she reported was truly excellent. My wife had the "Kobe" burger which she enjoyed. Me, I went for the NY steak. But first we had some really delicious appetizers - prime rib spring rolls and an order of calamari.
The steak was succulent but didn't have a lot of spices or additions. The dishes were all served with a selection of dipping sauces that let you enhance the flavor of your meal in a delicate manner. The wait staff was courteous and attentive.
Highly recommended."

"We had a party of 10, which is a large group and can be difficult for servers... I respect that. However, our waiter was very late in coming to our table. Once he did, we asked if we could order an appetizer from the bar menu as for some reason there is different stuff at the bar than in the restaurant. He said sure. About 15 mins later he came back and informed us we could not order off the bar menu. That was the start of this night.
By that point we were over it, and just wanted to order our food. After taking our order, he came back 5 minutes later to ask various guests to repeat their order because he didn't get it. It took multiple requests to get anything."

"I've eaten at the Medallion Steakhouse before, and although it has been a little inconsistent, I was more disappointed this time. My NY Strip steak was tough and had too much black charcoal on it. I've had much cheaper cuts of meat that were more tender than this one."

"Bar - No Blender for frozen drinks. Wait Staff - Very poor communication with customers. No salt and pepper on tables, I ask for some which was brought to the table -- promptly but the pepper grinder did not work. Tried their Prime Rib Special which I found sub-par. This is a large restaurant with possibilities, but needs a visit from the chef on -- H_ll's Kitchen."

"We have been going to this restaurant for 30 years....under different names. Had our 25th Anniversary party there. Its the same place with updated seating and table arrangements- along with outdoor drinking and dining when warm enough. This is the find of Burlingame. The food was spectacular- braised short ribs and potato(special) were melt in your mouth awesome. My wife had the filet- and it was amazing. Rare was perfect! Anthony has been our waiter a couple of times- and he is very good. Why they don't advertise in mind boggling.
Its the best food in Burlingame. And the bread- they get from a small bakery in SF--- is AMAZING----"

"I had a ribeye steak which was overcooked and the sides tasted like frozen goods that were heated up in a microwave. I was very disappointed because it has a really hip and kool interior and it seemed as if the bar scene would be a good place to visit at some point in the future."

"Food quantity was not worth the price.. Waiter kept talking to us in hispanic language assuming we do.. One of our appetizer was calamari and this is a first iʻve seen with green n red bell peppers n onions with it and we donʻt eat them. There was more if it than the calamari... I had cicken petso pasta n it seemed to be a 1/2 portion of a lunch portion.. I can count the pasta in my shallow bowl!"

"Having missed lunch we decided to have an early dinner. What a delight! The Prix Fixe prime rib dinner was the perfect option. I could have made a meal on the rustic bread and salad. The bread pudding dessert topped off the dinner. We will return. Hopefully the family across will leave their cell phone in the car. (The foreign language phone conversation was disruptive.)"

"I love this restaurant! Yet again, I had a great experience here. Everything was wonderful as usual. The only thing that wasn't do great was that my steak was a little overly cooked, but everything was delicious."

"My husband and I came for an early dinner, when they have a special offer of prime rib. We both ordered it. The salad was quite good with mixed greens, walnuts, and blue cheese. The prime rib was only so-so. It looked like it was cut a while ago and being heated back up. It was also a tad too salty. The dessert was a bread pudding. The portion was quite small, but really enough to end the meal. All in all, we probably won't come back for the prime rib. The service was outstanding."

"Food was good, but totally dead so it was a bit eerie feeling....i think its better for events outside as the patio area is great ad i've been to functions there and it was nice. If you're looking for privacy and quietness, then this is your place."

"We tried the prix fixe dinner. It was wonderful. The host was attentive but not overwhelming. He guided me to the perfect wine (in my price range). In fact, all the waitstaff were attentive, but low key, there just when needed. My Kansas-born husband identified the prime rib as grass-fed. It was very flavorful - I didn't even need the horseradish on the side. We will definitely go back for the great beef. The salad was excellent; tangy and textured. I though the creamed spinach could have used some seasoning, but my husband loved it. He also praised the bread pudding, which I felt was like chopped doughnuts. But the creme anglaise makes it for me! Very impressed overall."

"Over all experience at Medalion was fair. Our best experience was from our bartender who was more engaging than our server. The presentation of the dishes were quite lovely, but misproportioned. We were unable to finish our starter, as it was whisked away and our salad course emerged. Our main course was over cooked, and unfortunately the spicing was splotchy. The desert was under done; strawberry cheesecake should not be liquid in the middle. My husband and I were looking forward to dining here at Medalion, and I'm glad we were able to try it, but I don't believe we will be returning."

"I had an 8 o'clock reservations and I was stuck in traffic. I called last minute to see if they would be able to push my reservations to 8:30pm, and they accommodated my needs immediately. We were created by a warm welcoming gentleman and were seated right away. We had a four course meal with filet mignon and crab, which was absolutely delicious. Everything we ate was delicious. I would have given the service a 5 but WD had to wait for our drinks for about 20min. The manager ended up giving the drinks for free, which definitely showed his attentiveness for customer service."

"We took advantage of the Valentine's Day special ($45/person which was very reasonable). It was our first time there and neither the bar or the restuarant wasn't very full--not sure why. The filet mignon was perfectly cooked. The service was good."

"Via OpenTable, I found this restaurant to celebrate Valentine's Day while in town for a wedding. Its online menu was sufficient; the pictures inviting. My hubby thoroughly enjoyed the diversity of the Valentine prix-fixed menu from sparkling wine & shrimp cocktail to the trio sampler cheesecake dessert, with a salad, mashed potatoes, and steak with crab cake in the interim. As a vegetarian, I was a little disappointed as they had not considered an appropriate appetizer. I appreciated their effort, but the risotto dish (while tasty) was not the right appetizer for a pasta primavera entree. We were immediately seated, the wait staff bustled, and the restaurant provided a long-stem rose to cap the evening."
