Located in the heart of midtown, BLT Steak is our interpretation of the classic steakhouse, coupled with signature style and all-around finesse. Enhanced by the richness of Macassar Ebony tables and matching suede booths, BLT Steak combines a bistro ambiance with steakhouse fare. Certified Black Angus or USDA Prime steak are dressed with a selection of sauces, ranging from Bearnaise to Horseradish, and are paired with decadent sides such as Parmesan flavored Gnocchi and oversized Onion Rings. Add BLT Steak’s sumptuous selection of fresh seafood, signature salads and blackboard specials and it sets the standard for today’s modern steakhouse.
A 23-foot zinc bar greets diners with an excellent array of libations for pre- or post- dining pleasure.
"Are you a regular at Ruths Chris or Mortons? Mix it up and have an excellent steak, truffle mash potatoes and shrimp cocktail at BLT. One of the best steaks in the city thus far. The Halibut special that night was also fantastic. Just beware, the popovers are super light, mouth-watering with the butter... it's easy to fill up on - leave room for dessert!"

"This was the first time my husband and I had visited BLT steak. Our children have been there and it is one of their most favorite restaurants. We took our grandson and his wife and had a wonderful meal. Best steak ever. Would highly recommend this wonderful cozy, delicious restaurant."

"The bill was a bit high but the food was good and the servings were generous. The Tuna Tartar appetizer is out of this world but the cream of spinach leaves a lot to be desired - not creamy, very salty and had too much garlic."

"My wife & I dined at BLT Steakhouse in NYC this past weekend & were not disappointed! Great food, Great service & an extensive wine list. Our only gripe was the dress code. 'Business Casual' is what I had been told on my reservation confirmation phone call. While having dinner a man wearing shorts-t-shirt &flip flops was seated at the next table!? A little disappointed with the lack of respect for a dress code."

"BLT Steak was incredible. The food was excellent and the service impeccable. The only negative was the noise. It was very loud and we couldn't carry on a dinner conversation."

"The Dover Sole was good. I've had better rib-eye steaks @ other Manhattan steakhouses. You learn to put up with the close seating with waiters and patrons banging into the back of your chair. What bothered me the most was the non-attentive waitress"

"Drink was spilled on my new Escada blouse and no one even apologized or offered anything will never return to this restaurant. Steak was poor and sides feed less than one person."

"we're french and were in NY for 4 days. A friend of mine recommended me the restaurant. Food was very good and tasty. We will come back if we'll come back in NY. Just disappointed by the wine, too expensive for one bottle (even for US wine that we looked for). And also nobody tell us goodbye and thanks when we left the restaurant (maybe because of my french accent? joke :-) )"

"The place is nice, for me there was too dark lighting, but the steak experience I had was memorable. I took a 28 days aged NY strip and it was juicy, fantastic taste, and cooked to perfection. The sides are also delicious, but are too small to share. They have a huge wine list, however the average wine prices are relatively high, usually starting with a number of 3 or 4, but there is also some for around 100 bucks as well. The service was nice. Highly recommended for steak lovers!"

"We found several online and on print reviews that recommended this restaurant. It was very visually appealing when we walked in, and for a few minutes we thought it was going to live up to the hype we had come across when planning for the evening. But as soon as the food began to arrive, we discovered quite the opposite. For one thing, a steak cooked "medium" here equates to "rare" and TOUGH. It was the first time I have ever encountered a steak that you were grateful to have those awesome steak knives to use, but after sawing for a full minute and still not cutting through the meat...well...very bad sign. Fully one third of my 16 oz NY Strip was left on the plate because it was so fatty and full of gristle it was not edible."

"Both our steaks were only just edible. They had been over-salted in the cooking process to the point that they tasted of nothing other than salt. Shame because the restaurant came highly recommended and we had traveled a long way especially (from the UK). I am not a great one for complaining, rather I just never use the place again and this is one I shall never use again!"

"The spacing between tables was almost none. Each time someone new came to sit at the recently vacant table would require the waiter to move our table to make room so the person could slide in. This happened more than once where our table had to be adjusted in the middle of our meal. It was extremely irritating to have someone sitting so close to you where you could just reach into their plate with your fork.
On the other hand, the food was beyond expectation. Everything was extremely delicious."

"Overall great food, perfect steak and great sides though could work on their baked potato (really dry). Extensive wine list but that is not really helpful when average bottle is over $500! Would have loved to try more wine with my steak as one would expect but there needs to be more options for average person. Our waiter was really great and made up for the poor reception we received when we first entered. Despite having made reservations, we were forced to wait 20 minutes before receiving a table which is unacceptable and bar was overcrowded. Finally, the ambience was poor for a steakhouse; really loud and overcrowded and we were squeezed between people which is not very enjoyable. Great food but not enough to make me come back."

"Great food, friendly wait staff, perfect atmosphere (although a little cramped but that seems typical for NYC). Found this little gem by Google searching for the best steakhouses in NYC. This was listed in the top three. I am very glad I decided on this one."

"Think this restaurant is over rated. I don't like a place that requires my credit card to take a reservation and makes me wait over 30 minutes at the bar for a table. Then I get then different waiters for me. I couldn't even get a glass of water filled. My money is spent better elsewhere in NYC."

"Went for Mother's Day dinner. Great steak house especially if you want something a little more upscale and not so overwhelmingly masculine. Steaks were perfectly prepared, a bit of crunch outside, tender inside, medium-rare just as we asked. Sides are terrific!! Way above usual steak house sides. Truffle oil infused mashed potatoes are stupendous. Desserts also great, followed waiter's recommendation and got one I otherwise wouldn't have, the "crepe souffle," which was outstanding."

"Have always been skeptical of the "chain" albeit small...(Wjen you are in multiople cities with multople themes you qualify). Not a coookie cutter Morton's or Ruth's Chris by any means, BLT Steak has never disappointed. Staff are affable and knowledgeable and the food and atmosphere not the "cooke cutter" of a steakhouse still retaining many of the "chop house" favorites and iinovative additions. PopOver's are killer and the tuna tartare amazing. Steaks are to perfection and a great place for a festive evening. Great music and a fun room. Enjoy!"

"Love BLT and have gone there for years- Usually go to BLT Prime where I think they do a better job of honoring reservation times. Went to BLT steak the other night and while the food was good- it was not worth the wait. We had an 8:30 reservation and weren't seated until after 9:30 which is ridiculous. To make it worse, the manager wasn't upfront with us about the fact that they overbooked reservations and told us from 8:30 on that our table would be ready Ina few mins. If you've been to BLT steak you know it's very load and the bar area is one small strip that doesn't really leave room to wait comfortably. We won't be going back there anytime soon"

"Our second time there, BLT Steak did not disappoint. The popovers were divine (as always), and the steak was melt-in-your mouth good. We had reserved through Open Table and noted that it was our anniversary, and they made a big effort to get us a table we liked (letting us choose from several options), and started us off with complimentary champagne. It was a delightful experience all around, and I'd highly recommend it for a special occasion."

"New York seems to specialize in great steakhouses, but BLT Steak is a wanna-be. It misses the mark starting the moment you sit down – too-loud rock music blasts above your head. Is this ambience? And we were dismayed at the sommelier’s unwillingness to discuss our trophy bottles of wine we brought. At most top restaurants when we bring our own, sommeliers love to discuss our bottles. Not here. When we asked which we should open first, we got, “It’s your wine, you decide.” The rest of the service went smoothly. Salads were good, but nothing spectacular. The tender steaks were somewhat over-seasoned. Thank goodness by the time steaks arrived, the blasting music faded into the background. We liked, but didn’t love, BLT Steak."

"While prices of food and wine are expensive, quality of service, food and wine list are excellent, though a few more moderately priced wines would be appreciated. A great tasty evening was spent in a noisy delicious restaurant! Staff is very helpful and not at all officious. A fabulous place to return to knowing its limitations!"

"An enjoyable dining experience. The evening was full of energy - the restaurant patrons were buzzing and the ambiance added to great electricity. The food was delicious, of particular note were the more than ample tuna tartare appetizer (split it between two people!), and the hazelnut praline sundae. The only drawback to the evening was the extremely rushed service, especially at the beginning of the meal. Appetizers were served just after our cocktails and delicious pate were served. The wine for dinner would have been poured immediately after that, but we requested that the staff slow the pace. A very nice evening, although not up to other BLT restaurants or BLT Steak of earlier times."

"The food is always well executed. I like the menu because it has all the classic steak house stuff. But just a better and fresher version of it. I also appreciate that the waiters aren't 70 yrs old like they are at a lot of the older steak joints. Looking at you, Bobby Vans."
