"Sushisamba dromo was not our kind of restaurant. We like a leisurely, quiet dining experience and this was just the opposite. Probably a great place to be seen if you're young and desperate to be seen. Food was ok but not memorable and service was adequate but impersonal and rushed."

"Loved the food. The blending of South American and Japanese flavors really worked. We shared small plates and we both loved everything we had. We got there for a 6:30 reservation and it was already nicelycrowded. We sat outside and enjoyed watching people walk by. I would definitely try it again the next time I'm in South Beach"

"Sushisamba was one of many highlights of our visit to SoBE. The food is good and the service was excellent. Be warned, it is a noisy place and the some of the tables are close together. Short of that, you won't be disappointed."

"Mid market / mass market meets South Beach. Did not really fit some of the descriptions (hype!) in some of the reviews and promotions seen online before we went.

It is fun ! Great bar and wonderful bar tender on the night.

Menu is an interesting mix of classics with a strong Latin American take on the construction and ingredients of some. Overall, the food was good and well worth the vist.

get a booth on the upper seating level and you can have a great people watch time too. Avoid sitting at the Sushi bar though - seats too low and right next to a busy traffic lane for the staff and diners moving around.

Good drinks. It looked like outside on lincoln Drive a pleasant place to be on a warm evening."

"I went here on Valentines Day with my boyfriend. We have been to Sushi Samba before and enjoyed it. I made a reservation a week in advance for 8:15. When we got there at 8:15 they told us we had to wait another 20 minutes for a seat. The same thing they told the people infront of us without a reservation. So what was the point of making a reservation if I still had to wait? When we finally sat down the server was very friendly but after dessert my boyfriend and I felt very rushed to leave the table. So we went to the bar and finished our cocktails there. Still a favorite restaurant of mine but I don't recommend it for Valentines Day!"

"The food was great however the service is horrible. The waiter “Mike” did not come with water, we waited for over twenty minutes for him to even come to the table. After ordering drinks and food, we waited again, just for the drinks. Much later after the drinks were served we waited again, at our table with empty glasses again waiting to receive our food. Twenty minutes later our food came in – Delicious. The manager did not even come to our table because he was busy talking to friends at another table for almost two hours. It could have been a better experience if it had good fast workers and new management. I rate it a low 3 out of 5. I can write an article on needs improvement for service but one word for the food. Mmmm Great. (kobi beef"

"The night started off with running late for our reservation of 2. I called in to explain that we would be arriving late and they were understanding and still said they would be able to accomodate us. Upon arriving there, we were greeted by friendly faces. Asked us if we wanted to sit inside or out (cold night but had amazing heatings that could be felt from a distance). We got our table within 15 minutes. The server was very friendly and explained everything since it was out first time. She even offered suggestions. Appetizers came out very fast and entree as well but we werent impressed by their taste. The ambiance was a soft dark red with red lights behind the bar and professional DJ spinning Samba tunes. Overall was a pleasant night."

"Even with a dinner reservation, we were seated 45 minutes later and after several discussions with the hostess. We eventually just had to sit at a table when another party left. Our waitress was wonderful - very attentive and efficient. Food was awesome as always"

"The food is an eclectic fusion of traditional Japanese and Cuban cuisine. Our meal was very fresh and light and packed with interesting flavors and textures. The inside ambiance is very vibrant, if not loud, and even a little cramped. The prices were a little on the high side for the portions, but it was a great meal and we will be back. Our server was excellent and made great recommendations and was always on-top of everything the entire meal."

"I usually go to Sushi Samba every time I'm in South Beach. It has a great, energetic atmosphere. Not someplace to go for a quiet romantic dinner as the music is loud…but that is a plus for me. Have never had a bad meal there. The Bobo brazil roll and the coconut rice are my 2 favorites."

"We arrived exactely at the time we made our reservation. It was very crowed and the poor young girl at the checking in was definitively lost. she ask us to wait close to the bar for 10-15mn. We waited and had two drinks. after 30mn I went back to see her but she had been replaced and the new one did not know who I was and that I was waiting. She asked us to wait another 30mn...then we left and went to Nobu were surprisingly we got atable right away."

"food and service was good once we were seated. The line leading up to the reservation and maitre de position was slow and disorganized and although we had reservations we waited behind lots of people who were just asking for seating without reservations"

"the sashimi was not particularly fresh on the saturday after thanksgiving. I asked what is the freshest fish they had and they just said everything is fresh, which was definitely not true. the fried calamari was quite good though."
