"In our dining group there was a vegetarian, someone who had already eaten (I know, what was she thinking?), someone with food allergies, and a picky eater. No worries. The server was knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the menu and was able to make appropriate recommendations. The portions are large and the food is amazing, fresh, and attractively plated."

"Overall the restaurant if good. It was Mother's Day and they were definitely struggling. We arrived 15 minutes early for the reservation. They tried to seat us at the bar. We refused and told them we wanted to be in the dining area. They then waited until after our reservation time to try to seat us outside. We again refused. They were very cordial, just not getting the point. We were eventually seated 20 minutes late. The waitress was very nice and great with the kids, but they understaffed. She brought us someone else's bill and credit card. She also brought us some else's appetizer during the meal. The food was good, but not great."

"We were hoping for a good meal to celebrate my husband's birthday. We tried out the family sized entrees and were delighted. Even brought some home...and we had three teens with us! I didn't realize I had ordered the "family size" tuscan salad, so when it came to the table I was a little put back...worried that I wasted a bunch of money on a mistake...We ended up eating ever last piece!"

"I was excited to try Mama Ricotta's after reading about their recent renovation and the revamping of their menu... needless to say, I left disappointed. The menu included a few new additions along with the pasta dishes they are widely known for... penne al a vodka, penne, broccoli and chicken and the cheese ravioli is offered with various sauces so you can make it your own. I was sad to see the mushroom ravioli did not make it back to the menu but thrilled when the server mentioned it was the night's special. My excitement did not last long... the ravioli was chewy and lukewarm at best. I did try my husband's penne broccoli and chicken and it was much better, but the kids won best meal of the night with their cheese pizza."

"So impressed with Mama Ricotta as my niece who lives in Charlotte is a huge foodie & cook! I'm from Greensboro & before my son flew out to SFO I wanted to treat him to a great Italian meal...wow...what a gem! From the incredible waitress who recommended their guest faves to the delicious food...(the best opened oven salmon Ive had since visiting Italy & the mozzarella brucetta was mouthwatering)...as you can tell we were very pleased!! I'm so happy as well they allow Open Table to make reservations easy as when we arrived on a Sunday dinner at 7 pm they were packed with guests but our table was ready!! I certainly recommend this restaurant!!"

w/ artichokes had no flavor, the polenta was the best part. The veal bolognese was average. My daughter had the Penne alla Vodka, and that was as good as always.

"I took my family here for Easter Brunch and was very surprised by the selection. There was 3 pasta dishes / two or three salads and a cheese bar that a server was behind so I didnt get to help myself. I had to wait for some baquette slices (as they were still cooking)to accompany my cheeses. There was not a bread basket on the buffet or the tables which I find odd for an Italian restaurant. The price in my opinion was too high for the selections and the fact that they charged an extra $2 per ice tea was surprising. For my husband and I and our 12 year old it was 72.00. I wont be back here for a brunch again. However, our waiter was wonderful and very attentive."

"My family from NY came here to celebrate my 29th birthday this past week. It was my job to find a restaurant that could compare to the traditional Italian we are used to back home. I ordered the pollo bianco and was amazed with how great it tasted, as was the rest of my family with their orders. Had us all saying "wow" when we were finished! I'd highly recommend this place and was definitely worth the drive to Charlotte."

"Food wasn't bad, but it was not the most fantastic either. I rate it a 6.75 on a scale from 1 to 10. I made reservations and for my special request on my reservation I noted that the one female that was in my group of 3 was celebrating her birthday. When I showed up for my reservation, the hostess who was friendly looked up the reservation and then proceeded to ask why my group was dressed up in celebration fashion, which in that moment depressed the whole (what I had hoped for a special dessert ending to her meal) surprise. So I told her and she sat us at our table with a smile. Then in less than 3 minutes are waiter proceeded to ask the same question as the hostess therefore depressing the moment even more! So overall C+ experience."

"I had heard great reviews from friends, but was somewhat disappointing. Food was just ok, the penne vodka was overcooked but edible with lots of salt, the goat cheese and marscapone appetizer was rather good, the pizza was a huge miss- thick crust, sweet sauce- not my idea of brick oven. The kids did not like it. Not worth our drive from Mooresville! On a positive note, Danny, the waiter was excellent and the food came out quick."

"Normally we have great experiences at Mama Ricotta's and our recent experience there might have been an anomoly, but based off of our last trip, we will probably take a break for awhile. We were there on a Friday night, and I asked the waitress if there were any drink specials. She looked at me somewhat indignately and said, "its a weekend--there are no specials on weekends." Not only was she somewhat insulting, my husband and I regularly dine there on Friday nights and I used to order a $5 Stoli Flavors Special. My issue is not that the special changed (that's why its a special), my issue is that she acted like it had never been the case. I don't need to go out to dinner only to be insulted by the wait staff."

"Bread and salad were great along with the service. We ordered the spaghetti and meatballs and it was to dry. We thought it needed more sauce especially since themeatballs were large you needed something to roll or dip them in. Otherwise we enjoyedthe meal. Plus there was no room for sitting while waiting on tables. Had to stand inthe way of servers.Jane Mull"

"This was our first time to Mama Ricotta's and we have already been back. We truly enjoyed everything from the bruschetta to the penne a la vodka with spicy sausage. This is a great restaurant for date night as well as just any other night. If you don't try here you will be missing out."

"Great dining experience! It was an early dinner and the place was packed, but yet had a very relaxing atmosphere. The food was excellent and a great value given large portions...the service was great too. My girlfriend and I ordered the goat cheese dip as an appetizer and the individual size Pollo Bianco and family size Rigatoni with meatballs...all were very flavorful and we left with enough leftovers for another four meals. We'll be back again very soon and highly recommend this place to couples and families."
