Isabela on Grandview is an elegant and intimate restaurant featuring an innovative seven-course prix-fixe menu Monday through Saturday and additionally an a la carte menu Monday through Friday. Recently awarded one of OpenTable.com 100 Most Romantic Restaurants nation-wide, we take pride in offering a memorable dining experience. Take in the breath-taking views of the Pittsburgh skyline and an open kitchen to the back, and delight in our carefully prepared menu. We utilize fresh local products to prepare our international menu. Come and meet our owner, George, and enjoy a pre-dinner cocktail in our lounge. "Son and I took my husband here for birthday dinner. A friend had recommended it as the best place in Pittsburgh for a special occasion and we were not disappointed. The staff was friendly and helpful, the wine list was excellent, the menu was creative and satisfying, and the view spectacular. Thanks for a wonderful experience."

"This is a special experience! The food was very good. Reasonable portions so that you could actually eat it all and be comfortably full. We sat at a table in the bar area, you can't miss a "fantastic view" anywhere in the restaurant, however next time, we will definitely make sure to sit upstairs ... even better!
The proprietor, George, introduced himself and we had a nice chat ... clearly he cares about your experience! Very nice evening and we even got lucky as there were fireworks at PNC Park after the game!"

"Unlike most Mt. Washington restaurants, this one actually has food to match the view. They really pull out all the stops to make it a special occasion for their guests. Great place for a romantic evening. We went for our wedding anniversary, and it was lovely. It's a Prix Fixe menu, and we really enjoyed the food, as well as the service. The view doesn't need a review! It's spectacular."

"The food was outstanding. we had the prix fixe menu as it was saturday evening. It was a seven course meal. We were lucky enough to be seated by the window with an outstanding view. We started with an amuse bouche of vichyssoise. Good not remarkable. Next was the appetizer course with a choice from four. We had the fois gras terrine & the scallop. Scallop was good but the fois gras was outstanding, best I ever had. Fish course next , we had the lobster and halibut. Lobster was good and pea and marscapone risotto was even better. The halibut was simply outstanding. Green tea sorbet was good. we had lamb and duck breast for the meat course. Sweetbreads were exquisite. Desserts were wonderful as well."

"Isabela's is such a treat. It seats 28 upstairs, and probably about half that downstairs. There is not a bad seat in the place! Often, restaurants that have amazing views from Mt Washington have less-than-amazing food. Thankfully, Isabela's is the exception. Chef's tasting menu had a great balance. My husband had the cobia, and he was still talking about it a few days later. The service is truly exceptional, and George, the owner, is to be commended on how he makes you feel at home. This was visit #2 for me, and I think Isabela's is the kind of place our city should be proud of....during my visit #1, I took a friend from New York City, and she fell in love with it."

"Wife and I visited Isabela on Grandview for a belated Valentine's Day dinner. Seated at 5:00PM on a Saturday, we pretty much had the place to ourselves for almost a half hour before it started filling. They offered a prix fixe menu with plenty of options. We eat out fairly often, and this was our third Grandview Restaraunt to dine at. Simply put, this was THE BEST dining experience we've had in the three years we've lived in Pittsburgh. The view, the food, the pace of the meal, the Wait Staff...all superb! While some may be "put off" by the appearance of the building (it does look like a neighbrohood bar from the outside), if your priority is an exceptional dining experience with a great view, this is the place."

"My girlfriend and I made our first trek to Isabela on Grandview recently. We both ordered from the prix fixe menu and were very impressed with the meal. The food was great and the service was well-timed. We both really enjoyed the cobia and my personal favorite was the smoked duck breast. The view is as good as it gets in Pittsburgh and although it is one of the more expensive restaurants in the area, we agreed that it was money well spent for a romantic evening."

"I chose Isabela on the Grandview for my boyfriend & I for our first Valentine's Day together celebration and his first visit to Pittsburgh. The owner was very warm and friendly upon entering the restaurant and he seated us as well. We were given a table at the window so the view was amazing. The photo was a nice touch and turned out great, so it's nice to have a momento from the evening. The food was fantastic, each course was delicious and you were given just enough time between each course, we did not feel as if we were waiting forever to get the next tasting. I'd recommend this to anyone looking for a special evening out."

"The food was very good, but you need to like a different take on food. It is a unique experience and expensive. Be prepared to spend $100.oo per person. Glad we went, but will not go again. The servings are small but presented beautifully. My son got the venison which he said was delicious. The strip steak was just okay--fatty. I chose the vegetarian pasta. --just okay. it was pumpkin cavatelli-mushy and doughy. The food was hot. We also did valet. This is the first time I have ever seen it on my bill. We had to pay tax on it! Also when we went to get our car, the young man said we didn't give him enough money-that we needed to pay for valet which we already did. And how did the waiter even know we did valet!! So check your bill!!"

"This is a restaurant with wonderful food and a fantastic view. The staff was excellent. The owner was present and greeted all diners. We choose the tasting menu and it was very good. Overall we enjoyed the dinner, the service and the fantastic view. We traveled to the restaurant on the Duquesne incline. Parking at the bottom is free. The trip on the incline was a wonderful way to see the city. The restaurant is a short walk to the restaurant."

"Isabela on Grandview was an absolutely fantastic dining experience, from the first moment we entered to when the owner himself drove us back to our hotel in their courtesy car. The experience you get there is one of fine dining and so much more. The food amazing, service attentive, and atmosphere excellent."

"I have lived in the Pittsburgh area for ~20 years and I had never visited Isabela on Grandview. My husband and I celebrated our first anniversary there on Saturday and it was hands down the best dinner I've had in years! The staff was friendly and informative. The view of downtown Pittsburgh was amazing and the food was incredible. The owner even gave us a glass of champagne on the house to congratulate us on our anniversary. You also get a little keepsake photograph to take home. Very romantic! I will definitely be back!!!"
