"Decided to try this place after hearing a reco from a group staying at the same B&B as us. It was really nice. The restaurant itself is in an old bank building, which made for a dramatic dining area with tall ceilings, etc. Very cool. I ordered a seafood pasta dish, which was excellent. Sauce was amazing, and thankfully the seafood was not overcooked. Dipping oil for their bread was amazing as it surprised me since I was expecting something like sun-dried tomatoes and salty, but ended up being sweet and light. Nice."

"We went here for my Grandma's 80th Birthday and I have to say, Ristorante Allegria was the best. We had booked the Chardonnay Room a month in advance and it was a surprise so my Grandma was fashionably late. They were so gracious and accommodationg with our group as we stayed over 45 minutes past our time, but they treated us so well even though our group was a lot to handle. Our server was great and we would highly recommend this restaurant. Thank you Ristorante Allegria!"

"I was under whelmed with our table choice, asked to move and although we had a reservation our request was denied. It was a while before being acknowledged by our waiter and by then knew the menu pretty well. We only were asked for drinks at this time although we could have given at least our app order if not the whole dinner. Wine was lovely(pinot noir), sampler app choice was less then expected; greasy, cold and tasteless come to mind. My gnocchi sauce was fishy, horrible, and Napa salad was more of a cabbage salad from a family picnic. For the money chose another."

"This gem of a restaurant is one of my favorite dining places. Situated in an old bank building it has ambiance on steroids. The decor is beautiful and classic. The murals are lovely to look at and the lighting shows everything at its best.. The small upper balconies are a treat, and let you look down on the main dining floor. The old vault is a small and intimate private dining room. BUT!!! The food is ALWAYS presented like pieces of art. Presentation is a plus for my dining pleasure and ALLEGRIA does it to perfection. I often feel like taking a photo of my food. The wait staff are amazing and always remember you and your taste preferences. Situated in the shopping center of NAPA, it is a destination must when in that area."

"Hostess had a bit of an attitude. When a couple asked if they could sit at a different table, she didn't say a word, just picked up the menus, threw them down on the other table and walked off. Even though the patio was fairly empty, she put us at a table that was in full sun. We just moved ourselves to a shadier table. Since it was a very slow night, I don't know why she didn't just ask people where they preferred to sit. All in all a good restaurant, though."

"I was traveling alone which is unusual. Didn't have a plan for dinner so I turned to Open Table and I was not disappointed. Great meal, great service, didn't feel uncomfortable sitting alone on a Friday night. Wonderful ambiance, good wine list an really nice people seated around me. "Decided to try this restaurant which I found on OpenTable. Food was good, we had the Pappadelle and the Fruti di Mare. It was an absolutely hot day so we chose to sit outside which was very nicely shaded and made the dining experience even nicer. We went a bit early so by the time we finished eating is when the crowd started coming in. Looked like a good balance of tourists and locals."

"I made reservations for my partner and I on Monday Night (@6:30p.m.). Coming from out of town makes internet reviews unreliable in a sense that you're are never too sure about a restaurant because we all have our own specific preferences. Thankfully I found a gem and am beyond pleased with the outcome. Ristorante Allegria has incredibly fast service (note, it was also Memorial Day)! Our server (I believe her name was Tracy) was funny, gracious, kind, warm, knowledgable, and highly professional. She was the cherry to our Sundae. Thank you so much for this wonderful experience!"

"We hit this place at the end of a shift at 3 PM on a Sunday and it just wasn't up to par like the last time we went. It's good, but don't go at an odd time. The calamari was too thick and rubbery. Some of the Frutti di Mari was cold when it got to the table. There was very little linguine with it. The staff is wonderful. The food is usually very good."

"Had my 30th Birthday lunch here with 9 other friends. Originally were set up outside but it became very windy and our guests were feeling cold. Within 15 minutes, they were able to set up tables inside and move our party. The waitress and staff were extremely accomodating and very nice. The food was really delicious. Each one of my guests really enjoyed their pastas and salads. My neice, who is 2, enjoyed the noodles :). Overall, the experience was great! food was delicious. Although you may not think to come here, Ristorante Allegria really surprised me in terms of their excellent service and really tasty food and I will definitely come back and also bring my guests."

"Got seated in a little table behind the maitre'd's station. There was a high partition so we didn't really get the full restaurant experience. The server was friendly and hustled to do a good job. Little rough around the edges, but did a commendable job. Food was ok, the muscle and clams sauce was delicious, but there was nothing about the menu or our specific orders that wowed us. Overall, good value."

"We have been to Allegria many times over the years and it never disappoints. The crab cakes had a bit too much bread and not enough crab, but our pasta with shrimp was fantastic, as was the ceasar. Wine list/availability was fantastic and the patio seating was perfect."

"Not only did our hotel recommend this restaurant but also one of the employees at Domaine Carneros told us this was the best Italian restaurant in the area. The building is beautiful & upstairs appears to have a more intimate setting, downstairs was a bit noisy. Our hotel gave us a complimentary appetizer which the waiter took care of immediately & it seemed like we no sooner ordered our dinner & it was served, normally at a nice restaurant you would like to savor the experience. My pasta pomodoro with prawns was tasteless, another person had the special that night, ahi tuna, which he said was okay but the vegetables were cold which seems impossible since we were served so quickly & the other two diners said their meals were bland."

"We went to Ristorante Allegria with my mom & sister. We had a great time. Food was great as always & our service was fantastic & friendly too. Thought it might be really crowded & noisy but it wasn't. Probably the most difficult part was parking...most likely due to Bottle Rock attendees parking downtown."

"Loved everything about the restaurant - the ambiance, service and the food/drinks. We sat downstairs, which has amazing ambiance. We noticed those in shorts and who were less well-dressed were seated on the second floor (which I am guessing is not as nice as downstairs)."

"After a day of wine tasting we had reservations for Mother's Day. Our party of eight ordered 3 appeitizers a variety of entrees. The calamari was tender, and mushroom dish was fabulous.
The lamb over a cheesy polenta was good. The pesto gnocchi was really good. The quinoa pasta was suggested for a gluten-sensitive niece, and was delicious. The pork tenderloin was the only dish out of eight that missed. It was dry and over-done.
For the finale we shared 3 desserts. The brownie sundae was warm and decadent, the apple berry fruit crisp was just that, warm and crispy. Mixed reviews on the lavender and orange creme brulee, but at least two in our party loved it.
Good food, service and nice place. My family agreed it was a good pick."

"I chose the restaurant for the gnocchi, and they didn't disappoint. We were in a quiet upper room, but if you have a preference on the kind of vibe you want, make sure you tell the restaurant in advance. We didn't care, so it worked out well for us. My hubby liked the bruschetta, but I didn't. That just meant more for him and more room for dessert for me. We'll be back the next time we're in town."

"Allegria Sampler to start and everything on there was wonderful. For entrees the Wild Mushroom Raviolis & Pappardelle Allo Zafferano (both homemade, cooked & done very well!), Marinated Grilled Teriyaki Skirt Steak very good, and fish of the day which was salmon. Salmon was cooked well, but the portion seemed a bit small. Definitely would come back and recommend!! Our server was great too!"

"What a find! I keep telling all my friends about the amazing meal we had at Allegria. It was the best restaurant experience we had in the Napa area. The food was simply delicious, and extremely reasonably priced! Portions were generous and the service was swift, very welcoming and knowledgable. The restaurant itself is beautiful with its high ceilings and elegant but relaxed ambience. We simply loved it and will definitely return when we're back in Napa!"
