"Went there for Valentine's Day! They set it up pretty nice with roses all over. The food was very good (as a Greek visiting NY, it is definitely reminiscent of home!). The service was nice and efficient. Definitely recommend trying at least once:)"

"the pluses: superb, fresh fish, expertly prepared; tasty side dishes and appetizers; professional service; reliable kitchen. the minuses: tables a little too close together and it's noisy, and definitely on the expensive side, and weak desserts. But the pluses certainly far outweigh the minuses and this is an enjoyable and solid restaurant."

"From start to finish exquisite in every way. From the service through the presentation and taste, all-in-all one of the best lunches I've had in the City to date. My colleague and I partook of the restaurant week offerings -- meze platter and the Greek tomato salad, lamb chops and loupe de mer ending with seasonal fresh fruit and walnut cake. Food was freshly prepared and simply seasoned to let the flavors speak for themselves. If you don't take advantage of this gem during restaurant week you will truly be missing out on one of the great NYC restaurants! Go!"

"Estiatorio Milos has long been a favorite--especially before or after a performance at City Center. However, they're previously well-priced 3-course pre-theater prix fixe has morphed into a somewhat more expensive, time consuming and less flexible 4-course option and the ala carte menu and wine list are fit only for pre-recession expense accounts. A light dinner for four (one appetizer, one veggie platter, 4 small fish entrees, one dessert, one very modest bottle of wine) was $400 with tip. The wine markups ran about 4X retail--with nothing on the wine list under $65.

The food and service remain quite wonderful. You won't find fresher fish anywhere in the city. Service is personal and attentive with good focus on curtain times, etc."

"I love Milos. Our server was friendly and helpful, and the food was truly amazing. Seriously the food was better here than anywhere I ate when visiting Greece this past summer.

I ordered the pre-fixe lunch for restaurant week, and was told that the menu and price exists all year round. The salmon was buteery and cooked med rare to perfection, and the lambchops were the best lamb chops our table has ever tasted and one guest was a chef who trained at Cordon Blu.

I am coming back!"

"The service very attentive as we had theater tickets for that evening. We sere seated immediately (with a reservation).Our meals arrived on a timely basis and the food was excellent.
We choose the prix fix menu and the portions were generous. The only negative was the noise level...not possible to have a quiet conversation."

"Greek food and fish from restaurant menu were superb but the Greeks aren't known for service and especially not here, from the greeting to the closure...just a rush of people and plates but the food absolutely outstanding. "This was my second time dining at Milos and it was as memorable as the first. This restaurant definitely has the freshest fish in town - and you pay for it! After living in Greece and knowing the meal would cost a quarter of what it does here in NY, the prices can be a bit hard to swallow, however it does serve its purpose for those who know and miss good quality Greek food. They also have a great selection of some of the best Greek wines."

"We went to Milos Saturday night 1/2/2010 with friends in from out of town. Their cuisine of choice was "good" seafood. I chose Milos. The restaurant itself is very nice, the service is helpful and attentive, however the food was nothing special, and for the prices they charge they should be embarassed. I have no idea how they managed to get a food rating of 27 from Zagat. Yes the fish was fresh, but it was just a piece of dry, overcooked fish in a plate. My friends were extremeley disappointed AND upset with my choice. I do not mind paying higher than average prices if the food is good, but after paying close to $600 including tip for 4 people I walked out feeling ripped off and still hungry."

"The raw materials are of excellent quality, since the cooking is simple. The star is the fish, without question. While the side dishes are of good quality, they don't really offer anything exciting. However, the freshness of the fish does. I believe the key ingredient when cooking fish is the freshness of the fish itself. Milos has no competition in the city to translate that freshness into a great meal.

I wish the restaurant were explicit about the fish differences; it would be fantastic. While the waiter was kind and courteous, he did not provide a lot of information about the different fish when asked, we had to go with the brief definition at the end.

"This beautiful restaurant, close to New York's Theatre District and the glamour of Fifth Avenue, made one feel that they had stepped into a part of Greece, while never leaving the USA, due to the atmosphere, decor and accomodating service. The Greek Tomato Salad and grilled Pompano were the epitome of freshness, along with the breads, which were served with a side of olive oil. Delicious cuisine, accompanied by friendly faces and the classic blue and white colors of Greece, caused myself and others to forget the drenching rain that blanketed this city all day. Prices are slightly expensive at Estiatorio Milos, yet there is value to be found here. I give it top marks, in all categories, and recommend it to anyone with a taste for the Aegean."

"The food and service is very good at Milos. There were 3 of us and we shared the Milos Special Appetizer and the Mediterranean Spreads. For dinner we ordered a 4 lb whole fish which was so fresh. Many people are turned off by whole fish but don't be. The waiters debone and serve the fish sprinkled with lemon, olive oil and capers. Everything was delicious. The only negative part of our experience is that it is quite pricey for the non-business diner. The fish we ordered was $50 a pound so all in all we each paid over $100 and that's with only one glass of wine each. Paying that much per person can get you a lot more at other restaurants in the city."

"Best and freshest fish I've had in a long, long time. Only down side is the cost--VERY expensive. Having said that, I would still go back on a special occasion when I'm willing to pay those prices. Very highly recommended."

"The food at Estiatorio Milos was fantastic and once we were seated at our table the service was excellent. However, although we had an 8pm reservation, we were not seated until 9pm. The hostesses made no apologies for the wait and it was clear from their attitudes that our business was not appreciated. I would only recommend this restaurant if you have plenty of time to spare and are willing to wait."

"We went there with another couple after our wedding ceremony at City Hall. We couldn't have asked for a better dining experience. We had a fabulous meal. The wine suggested by the waiter was outstanding without being a small fortune. The waiter could not do enough for us. It was a wonderful night. Will definitely return."

"Milos is quite simply a great dining experience. We took friends who had never been there who thoroughly enjoyed "fishing" for seafood choices at the entrance to the busy kitchen, as well as the delicious choices of wine, appetizers, and dinner accompaniments. Looking out at 55th street and listening to the 'noise' of people enjoying themselves makes Milos a must for those who want to experience Greek cusine at its best. We've been to Milos before and we'll be to Milos again and again and again."

"Very expensive unless you get the great $49 four course pre-theatre prix fixe. Appetizer of shrimp and crab cake was exceptional as was main course of salmon. Dessert, however, was mediocre (walnut cake with honey/lavender ice cream but it sure tasted like vanilla to me)."

"The seafood was fresh, light, and prepared to draw out the true flavor. The service was solicitous and deferential, sincerely checking to see if we needed anything and how we were enjoying ourselves. We appreciated their attentiveness to our Open Table comment that this was pre-theater dining. The location is probably the best feature because there is no other restaurant with this refinement, service, and food quality near City Center or Studio 54 Theater."

"The food was really delicious! We were seated at a nice table promptly upon our arrival. The prices are outrageous, however. How can a simple caesar salad be $18?
