"We went for the 7 course chef selection and were very pleased. Some of the most carefully prepared and presented food that we have ever experienced. We highly recommend the wine pairings - pricey, but the sommelier selected some outstanding wines that were the perfect pairing. Note this includes a pour for all 7 courses! Service was very professional, but a few times they sort of tripped over each other. Sometimes less is more. This was a memorable experience."

"This restaurant has the best service and food in town by far. The flavors and perfection of the cooking process is unparalleled. The service is the only restaurant service in Austin that follows all protocol rules with a touch of kindness and care that is unhear off. In particular, I recommend the Cheff's menu that includes one appetizer, one entree, and one dessert. The portions are small, typical of this quality of gourmet restaurant, but after the 3 courses you will be full and happy."

"I brought my husband here for his 50th. Food was good but the service was very poor. Bryn was our waiter, rude and only wanted to talk about what he wanted to talk about and acted as if questions regarding the food were stupid. We have been to far greater restaurants and have never been treated this way. There is more I could say but will end at this...I will never go back and have already told people at my company about the service. I am so disappointed."

"My girlfriend and I live on a pretty modest budget, but multiple overtime hours allowed me to treat her to a special dinner at Driskill Grill. It was both of our first times there, and I'm sure we stuck out like a sore thumb. Despite our annual salaries coming in much less than some of the other diners, we were treated the same (if not better) as any other customer. Our servers were funny, personable, and made it a point to offer suggestions or just drop a quick anecdote about games of "Strip Jenga."
The food was delectable and each serving (we both had the 3-course special) was amazing in every way. Cooked and presented to perfection, and served with a smile. Even though the bill was high, it was worth every cent. Highly recommend."

"The service was outstanding; they were attentive but never interrupted mine and my boyfriend's conversation. They were just very observant, the best kind of service. The food was also outstanding. The only downside was where we sat. It was in a corner of the room with a wooden beam between us, so that if we sat back we couldn't see each other. Also, we like to sit close and couldn't do that. I explained that to our host and asked if we could sit somewhere else, but he didn't reseat us. He just told us it was the third most popular seat. "We dined for the first time during restaurant week when there was a 3-course tasting menu presented.It was excellent with a wide variety of choices-beef(tri-tips),fish(tuna) and pasta(risotto) as entrees, many from the main menu. As appetizers, I had the gazpacho and my husband had an octopus salad, both of which were excellent and beautifully presented. We had two waiters assisting our table and service couldn't have been better or the courses better timed. Portions were perfect to eat three courses and not feel stuffed and the bread/butter were to die for-a nut/fruit bread and a sourdough-and readily supplied. Even though there were many diners in the dining room, we didn't feel crowded and could easily converse without raising."

"we were told by a stafff member on a previous visit that the Driskill encouages early dining and by coming early one would have better table seating. We followed his advice only to get a table where we were sardined next to a noisy group and watched later arrivals get more choice tables. The Driskill needs to inform its staff "don't be encouaging patrons to dine early by telling them they will get better table availability as thats not how we work""

"I love it here. Great service without being stuffy, and the food is phenomenal. We went to celebrate a birthday and engagement and they really took care to make our special night perfect (we even got the table we wanted). Chef Gelman's attention to detail and sourcing of local produce is evident throughout the meal, and everything we tried was perfectly cooked and full of interesting and complex flavors. We plan to come back soon, and you should too... don't wait for a special occasion!"

"This meal was almost perfect, Our server was awesome. Big flaw- and quite surprising, was my husband's steak. Was supposed to be wagyu but it was very tough. Tendon not trimmed, and very hard to eat. My filet was perfect so I am not sure why the problem. Otherwise lovely meal. Also bonus points to the front- we were almost 40 mins early for our seating and were tired and hungry, they took us early with no fuss. Very grateful. Wish I had a bigger appetite as I never made it to dessert."

"The Driskill Grill was a wonderful ending to a great weekend with my husband. Our waiter was knowledgeable and friendly. The food was interesting and wonderful. "The Grill at the Driscoll is a great, romantic treat. The bar is one of the best, if not THE best in Austin. I have food allergies and the waiter and chef adapted my meal to gluten-free, dairy-free without an issue. "Food and service was superb!!! Amazing lamb chop (compared to dining experience at restaurants in NYC) and the wine list was an extensive collection of well selected offerings.
