Voted "best crab in San Francisco", this cozy, wood-paneled boathouse is home of the world famous Killer Crab (R), over two pounds of roasted whole Dungeness crab. "Service and drinks were fantastic. Everything was automated so within 1-2 mins of the waitress punching in my drink order, it arrived - perfectly prepared. The food arrived within 3-5 mins. I ordered the lotsa crab and garlic noodles. I immediately understood why the food was so quick. It was under seasoned and they obviously had tons of these items prepared just sitting and waiting. Food was not marinated but rather covered in a thick garlic sauce made with a butter substitute. The noodles were tough and sitting in a pool of this dressing with fresh parsley added. This was a commercial fast food restaurant not a fine dining experience. Go for the Mojitos and the view not the food."

"Friendly service, moderately expensive prices, value for dollar on the crab dish was a little low but quite tasty overall. Definitely not a quiet place - but great with a group. Garlic Fries are a gift from whatever deity you choose to believe in. Why are these not everywhere in the world? Definitely a tourist stop, likely best place on Pier 39."

"Our server was excellent. She was so patient with us as we arrived in stages and I had to leave for about 20 minutes before ordering. She didn't even bat an eye. The house wine was better than expected and the food was mostly good. The crab will worth ordering. The Crab Enchilada's were good but the fish and chips was a bit heavy with breading and a little greasy. Although a little on the expensive side for lunch this is one of the better restaurants on Pier 39."

"The food is the highlight here and although its pricey, its worth it. The server on this occasion was trying to up sell everything far too aggressively and he came off like a used car salesman instead of a guide to a great experience.

Very accommodating when it came to be changing my seating, they made sure I would be satified before my meal arrived. "We have been to the Crab House a few times and have always loved it! But this time, we weren't too happy. We were seated at 9 (our reservation time), and our plates were cleared by 9:30. We weren't even asked it we were finished, they just assumed and took them away. We ordered the 3lb platter and there was not close to that amount. But when it came time to get our bill, they took their sweet time to get that to us. Sad to say, not sure if we will be back any time soon."

"We were told we had to eat at Crab House during our quick stay in San Fran. We are so glad we heeded this advice. Although pricey, our meal was exceptional. We shared the small iron skillet of mussels ($9.95) and the "lotsa crab" portion (3 lbs) of their famous Killer Crab ($54.95) along with their bread. My husband and I both felt like it was the perfect amount of food. Very attentive staff. Incredible food. A great San Fran experience you must budget into your trip. We'd definitely go back."

"We made a reservation for 5:30pm given the popularity of the restaurant, and were seated promptly upon arrival. We were a group of 6 across 3 generations, and everyone had a great time. We were seated by the window which offered a stunning sunset view of the golden gate bridge, alcatraz which was amazing. We ordered the family feast of killer crabs and garlic fries, and they were so delicious and served quickly/hot. Service was friendly and very efficient. We loved it so much that we returned two days for lunch while on this trip to SF."
