"We live in medfield and haven't been in about 5 years for a sit-down dinner/date night. We were so surprised. Menu has changed and it was fantastic. I had the scallops and my husband had the rabbit pasta dish. We also had three appetizers that were great! I suggest giving it a try! Service was a little slow, so don't go if you are in a rush...."

"I took my wife and daughter along with our one month old grandson to the restaurant for a Mother's Day Brunch. It was really great! This was our first time at Zebra's and we were quite impressed. The food, the service and the atmosphere was perfect for a holiday celebration. They had a price fixe menu for $28/per person, you could choose two items and both sections of the menu had at least (10) items from which we could choose for our brunch. I had the oysters first, then a frittatta, my wife had a cheese board to start and the salmon. Everything was made fresh and it was delicious, the service was attentive, but not intrusive and anything that we may have needed was there in seconds. Perfect for a romantic dinner or business lunch."

"The only bad thing to say about this meal is that it was too long since last time we ate there. The entire meal was excellent and very impressed that for such excellent food, they didn't soak it to you on the check. I ate a half order of a pasta dish for an appetizer - made with lamb - fantastic. This can be tough for a restaurant as they set the bar early in the dinner but everything else was equally as good, even the dessert. Wish I could remember everything we ate but it was a few weeks ago. Also, we had a great waitress and she was very knowledgeable about the menu and made great suggestions. We will be back soon. Highly recommend."

"Having enjoyed eating here in the past, we were quite dissapointed with this visit.
Some of the food was just mediocre, but one entree was a leg of lamb that was like
shoe leather, tough and dry, served with charred asparagus and overly spicy potatoes.
Fairly attentive service and a pleasant ambiance could not compensate.
We will not be going back."

"We had dinner at Zebra's for my husband's birthday (a special occasion; we don't go there more than once a year typically). The food was still fabulous since the last time we were there -- lots of great flavors and nice touches. My husband said "the chef really seems to know what he's doing", referring to the balance of flavors and how delicious everything was. He had the scallops and I had the braised beef. The mixed green salad with spiced seeds and nuts was extra special, too."

"We went to Zebra's to celebrate my husband's birthday with another couple. My husband had the oysters for an appetizer and thought they were great. I had the chicken liver pate and thought it was very good, although I personally would rather my toast tips be a little less crunchy. For dinner, we had scallops and short ribs. Everyone liked their meals although the men did make a couple of comments about the portions not being very big. My friend and I shared the white wine taster - six 2 oz glasses of white wines from their menu. We both enjoyed this experience and would recommend it to others as the cost really wasn't more than ordering a good glass of wine! Overall the food and the service was great."

Not surprising to be able to get a reservation on a Saturday, same day, at a good time. "We are Zebra's regulars, but this was our first time with the new menu. We tried two charcuterie selections (Pig's Head and the duck), both of which were terrific. The featured wine was a new bottle for us, and it exceeded expectations. Very good at its price point. As always, the drinks were spot-on. Our entrees were just the right size and delicious. The cookie ice cream sandwich was out of this world. We are lucky not to have to go far for fine dining in Medfield."

"Our first visit to Zebra Bistro. Very inviting as you enter the restaurant, beautifully decorated and the smells from the kitchen were great! We were greeted by a very friendly person and seated promptly. For the most part the food was excellent, we ordered from a pretty extensive restaurant week menu. I ordered short ribs with polenta...the short ribs were wonderful, tender great flavor. The polenta didn't have much going on and they were kind of runny. My wife had marinated hangar steak with scallion potato cake. Great steak but the scallion potato cake was very difficult to cut, seemed overcooked and maybe not very fresh. Our appetizers were excellent. Our server didn't really seem to know what he was doing, or didn't care that much."

"1st time here although we live nearby. Place was nice looking. Waitress attentive. Menu entres were only a few in number but items were very good. My wife had the Goyza ? Burger and I tried the salmon. Salmon was a little ordinary but tasted good. It was serve on a bed of of lentil that were a bit flavorless. Price was $95 for two with appetizer, wine and dessert, very reasonable. Will definitely return in the near future."

"We had a poor experience here. There waa a very long wait between our salads and our entree arrival. Two of us ordered the steak and it was so burned and tough we couldn't eat it and had to send it back. There was a long delay before they could bring us other food so our dining partners were already finished with their meals. The lentils were boiled and had no flavor. Polenta was grainy. The atmosphere is lovely but it is very noisy. If you are seated in the middle of the dining room, it is difficult to hear your dining partner. The lighting is very nice and there is nice outdoor seating in the front.
We will not return to Zebra's. It is our 2nd bad experience there. Too bad, as we like to support suburban restaurants."

"We haven't been to Zebra's in a while and were really looking forward to the sushi. We were disappointed to find that it was discontinued. Being restaurant week, I checked the online menu to find the perfect choice, salmon, since it was a Friday in Lent. Sold out by 8:00. They would not substitue any other fish. So, we had to order off the regular menu. Very expensive and Very disappointing evening."

"We went on the first day of Restaurant week and the menu offerings were very nice. The restaurant was not too busy on Sunday night which suited us just fine. Our server made some wine suggestions which proved to be right on the mark. My wife enjoyed her Scallops entree and although my hanger steak was practically cold when first brought out, the kitchen redid it and the second time it was warm and very enjoyable. We shared my Rhubarb Crisp for dessert and we both enjoyed it."

"Our reservation for 4 people at 7PM Saturday was made days in advance. We had drinks and apps at home, and were ready to sit right down and review the menu. The restaurant was full as was the bar, and we were not seated until 7:40. The tables for four all had people eating, not even with checks. What's the sense of taking the reservation? The food was great and the manager offered to comp a few apps, but after 11 years in business you would think they would know how to manage their reservations. It'll be a while before we go back."

"We sat at the bar for drinks and dinner. Had fun watching the chef working the raw bar/charcuterie bar. Great cheese and charcuterie platters. Short rib was excellent. Pan roasted chicken was epic! We need that recipe! My martini had ice chips in it when served to me (a pet peeve of mine). Bar was very lively with every stool filled by dinner time and the couches and chairs in the bar also busy. thank you!"

"Boston food in the burbs! Fantastic food and service! Started with house cured salmon gravlax and a shrimp ceviche from the raw bar then tried some of the housemade charcuterie. The terrine and "crispy pig head" were as good as some of the best restaurants in boston and providence. The moules frites were delicious and we all shared each others entrees, homemade pasta bolognese, cassoulet and whole grilled sea bass. Everything was unique, beautifully presented but most of all delicious. We opted against sweets for desserts but indulged in a delicious French blue cheese board. Service was friendly and attentive, with great suggestions for wine, cocktails and even a cool "mocktail" menu."

"Never a disappointment. Have been here several times and Zebra's continues to please. The food is seasonal and creative, without being over the top. Each dish is a taste treat. The service is knowledgeable and efficient without being overbearing. The wine list really shows care, with some very unique selections and very fair price points on every bottle. The bar area is very inviting as it has an inviting lounge area in front of the bar that is so cozy you actually wish for snow. Every neighborhood needs a place like this."

"We had a great meal with two friends. We were seated right on time on a busy Saturday night and sat at our great table for hours without any pressure. We all liked our food very much. I love mussels which were very good here, but feature French fries so I will not be ordering that dish again as I am not a fan of fries and they dominate the dish. However, the spacing was excellent. Main course dishes were great, and everyone else liked their apps. We also had a great bottle of Iatalian wine to celebrate."

We found by cruising Open Table for Central MA and it is going to be one of our local favorites. Suprised how many of our freinds had not heard about it - maybe because it is on the edge of Suburban Boston but listed in the Central MA section of Open Table."
