"We loved our dinner. The mahi mahi fish tacos were amazing. They were served with jasmine rice with flavors and pineapple topped with jumbo lump crab meat. We also had oysters and a pot of mussels. I shared all of this with my husband and it was too much food. We over ate."

"I love this restaurant! Their moules pots are huge and delicious. Staff is very knowledgeble and nice. Great selection of Belgian and other beers. Been here 5 times and it never failed with food or otherwise. This time we took our 22-month old with us, and there were more young kids. I definately recommend Waterzooi to all."

"Perfect brunch at Waterzooi last Sunday. Perfect day for the pretty and peaceful outdoor patio. Service was excellent , both my omelet and friends mussels were attractively presented and absolutely delicious. This was my third visit here, and each one has left me wanting to introduce more friends to this excellent bistro. With parking lot!"

"The service and food was good however the noise level was terrible. We were shouting to each other and when we left the restaurant our ears were still ringing!

"AWFUL! Aside from the mussels, which were good, this place needs a total renovation. Upon entering, the carpeting is soiled and dingy looking, interior is dark with uncomfortable chairs and metal tables packed side by side. Noise level over the top. The $12 lobster appetizer reminded me of a cheap frozen food diet dinner selection. The small side of french fries accompanying the mussel entree were also definitely previously frozen and hard as a rock, tasteless. Would not recommend."

"The food is fantastic! I've dined here several times, but this was my first opportunity to try brunch. I would eat every meal there! Our server was very enthusiastic and knowledgeable about the food and the cocktails. He was very busy with the many larger post-graduation celebrations, but we only felt mildly neglected. Overall, it was an enjoyable experience."

"I very much enjoyed my dinner at Waterzooi. It is one of my favorite restaurants to frequent. My entire table ordered "Mussel Mania", which is a three course meal for $21. There are two choice of starters, both of which are fabulous, many different types of mussel choices, and a mousse dessert. We each very much enjoyed our meals, and found ourselves having many more mussels then we needed. It was a fabulous meal, and I find the earlier time of day (6 PM reservation) to be relaxing and quiet. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone I know."

"Four of us went for Sunday brunch. I Have been there many times. The mussels were delicious as were the two selections chosen by the two who didn't order Mussels. The staff was truly exceptional. A few items were priced a bit high, but the Mussel special is well priced. Perhaps the brunch menu could include a few more plated items in the event a customer does not wish mussels/sandwich/omlette so they would have a few more options. Overall,the food was delicious and I highly recommend this restaurant."

"A place we regularly enjoy, but horrible last evening with a group of 3 men and 4 women (probably in their 30's-40's) who were so loud that others had to move to another section of the restaurant and even there you could still hear these people. My wife and I could barely hear each other over this group's screaming voices.
The restaurant allowed this table to ruin everyone else's evening. Very surprised, and disappointed, that the manager or staff failed to direct this group to quiet down.
Had this been my first time visitng the restaurant, it probably would have been my last."

"Second time here and second truly excellent meal. I had the French onion soup and wife had the lobster bisque to start. Both were loaded with flavor but paled in comparison to the main course. My "rib stuk" which was a massive braised short rib was off the charts. Serving was huge and could be cut with a spoon. Wife has the equally enjoyable lamb chops over mashed potatoes. I'm a big craft beer fan and was quite happy with the extensive selection. My fin du monde went down smooth. Overall excellent meal."

"I love Mussels. I went with my girlfriend on "girls night out". Waterzooi came highly recommended. Although they gave you plenty of mussels and frites the mussels were tiny and tasteless. "Waterzooi is amazing. Mussels, mussels everywhere! Lots of tantalizing choices of sauces for the pots of mussels. The frites are crispy & not greasy, with a delicious herbed mayo dip. The chocolate mousse dessert is just light and fluffy enough; flavor without being heavy. Kind of noisy, but who cares when the food is this good!"

"the moule frites are a must. mussels are succulent and tasty while the fries are golden and crispy! the lobster bisque is not too rich that you're overwhelmed but IS velvety enough that you KNOW you're just been treated to something special! the mussel pots are great for sharing in groups of 4 or more. its best you to order multiple flavors to prevent 'flavor fatigue' . of the flavors, my family enjoyed the Paella and the smokehouse ale (BACON), and the Oreganata the most. the paella was a a well rounded tomato based pot, the contrast of the smokey and creaminess in the smokehouse ale was amazing, and the sharp tanginess of the lemon wine and herbs in the Oreganata complemented the natural sweetness of of the mussels."

"Food was great, as usual, and came quickly. The only problem was, once we placed our order, we never saw our waitress again. Not a single time. Thankfully the servers were attentive enough to make sure we had water.Our table was cleared a full 10 minutes before a waiter finally came over and asked "How is everything so far?"I think we were there during a shift change, however, there were 2 other tables in our small area, both seated around the same time we were, and the waiter checked on them multiple times."

"When I arrived, I was attended right away. My friend had not yet arrived, so I was invited to sit at the bar, where I did not have to wait to order my diet soda. Once my friend arrived, we were seated promptly. The waiter was appropriately attentive and knowledgeable, and our food arrived not long after placing our orders. I had a Belgian waffle with pistachio gelato and chocolate sauce, and it was heavenly. The huge waffle had a good texture and an excellent flavor. The chocolate sauce was perfect--neither too bitter nor too sweet. My one quibble is that when I informed the waiter that I was not charged for the $2 diet soda I got at the bar, he redid the bill rather than give me a freebie. Oh well."

"I have been here several times, and I have never been disappointed. The service is always excellent, the food delicious, and the amazing choice of Belgian-style beers is fantastic. Despite ordering a pot of moules (mussels) with a broth we didn't like, we took the leftovers home anyway. I personally don't like things too sweet, but that's just my palette.
Our waitress was gracious enough to offer to have the kitchen make us something else, but we declined. It was our own fault for confusing Cajun and Creole cooking.
If you do order the mussels, prepare to be full (even if you share with someone!), as they give you plenty.
And try the lobster mac n' cheese!"

"I have been to Waterzooi many times and completely enjoyed my experience. Not this time though. Although the service was good, we were not happy with our drinks. At 12 dollars per martini, one would expect more than just juice. They didn't even have the martini I wanted! Also, I always order the Zee Bass and it is usually delicious. This time it looked like it was just thrown on the plate and it was not cooked well at all. The skin was still left on! YUCK! We ordered the gnocchi, one with the sausage and one without. They came both without. One of our party guests is a vegetarian and called ahead to see if the chef could do anything for her and they said no! Unbelievable. She had to eat side dishes. Never again."

"I've been going to Waterzooi for many years, the food is always great and service pretty good, my only complaint is the noise level, which actually ruins an otherwise perfect evening. I know I'm not the only one complaining about it so they really should work on this issue and really be able to provide an overall amazing dining experience."
