"Our overall dining experience was nice. I was a little disappointed with my entree. To Seagar's credit, the salad and dessert were terrific. I ordered the warm spinach salad and was very impressed. I ordered the Mahi for my entree and it was nothing spectacular. Seagar's is known for its steaks and I would be less critical but for its location on the gulf. The fish tasted bland and was mediocre. We ordered the twice baked potato and seasonal vegetables to share. The twice baked potato was not hot. Rather, it seemed as though it had been sitting under a warmer for a period of time. However, the seasonal vegetables were terrific. Finally, we ordered the seasonal pecan creme brulee and cheesecake for dessert. Both were outstanding."

"Our dining experience at Seagar's in Destin but excellent. The ambiance, the special attentiveness by staff, the wine list, everything. We were there with a friend on his birthday, and they wished him Happy Birthday (discreetly) several times and made the whole table feel special. We were seated in a small room with one other table, where it was perfectly lit, sophisticated and yet warm and friendly. We all selected steaks-various cuts and agings-along with steak fries that were artfully presented. We soon realized this would be a "sobre mesa" moment--a time to linger at table and enjoy the moment and each other. Wonderful Cabernet wine with a grand finale of Bananas Foster made tableside made for a lovely experience."

"My husband and wanted to have a date night without the kids on our vacation in Destin. Someone recommended this place to us so we decided to try it. We went at 830 pm on a Friday night. They weren't too busy but it took 10 minutes for them to bring us water and 25 minutes before they brought us a menu. The food was good but nothing spectacular. My husband had the Rock crab and I ordered the tuna. For $200 I would have expected it to stand out a little more. In my opinion it was a little too fancy and overrated. Will not be going back."

"As usual, outstanding food. Seagar's technique for preparing steaks is by far the best I've ever encountered. Service was less-than-stellar, which is unusual. I had received a promotion via email, which was advertised on their site, but two servers knew nothing of it (and the bill failed to reflect the promotion, although this was quickly changed once I pointed it out to them). On the plus side, my server recommended an excellent wine. I highly recommend this very special restaurant."

"My wife and I dined at Segar's for a newlywed present. It had been recommended from a co-worker. It was a outstanding experience. It was entertaining to watch the chef's prepare meals. The steaks where some of the best that we had ever had. Portion size was larger than expected. Truly a great experience. It is a wonderful place to dine with a loved one for a special occasion."

"Wonderful place for a special occasion or with that special individual. Service was exceptional. The spinach salad was excellent as was the red snapper and the herb tuna. "Overall great. Anytime we are in the area, I make a reservation at Seagar's. Food is good and large enough to split, which is what we often do. Always leaved satisfied with both the food and service. If you are in the area, don't be hesitant because it's in a hotel. It's not a hotel restaurant, it's a steakhouse that just happens to be attached to a hotel."

"Decided to treat myself got my birthday! I went to the restaurant alone. Told them in advance that I was celebrating my birthday. Thu made me feel so welcomed. All the waiters told me happy birthday and showered me with awesome complements. They didn't make me feel weird because I was eating alone. I had at least 4 severs during my time there. Since it was my birthday, my dessert was free. The banana foster dessert was prepared in front of me. What a wonderful way to celebrate my 31st bday. I would definitely go back!!!"

"Seagar's in the Destin Hilton is one of the finest dining experiences I have ever had. Right there in a hot bed of seafood is the best filet mignon I have ever had. Seagar's is an extremely classy restaurant with a quiet extemely relaxing atmosphere. In the background you will hear the music from a live piano player.You never feel rushed . The entire staff is very friendly , knowledgeable and extremely professional."

"Our second visit to this restaurant, the first being three years ago with a large group. This time is was my husband and me enjoying a Sat. night date!
Dining area is very spacious, meaning not sitting in your neighbor's lap or listening to someone's conversation or they yours. It's a steak house first and seafood second. Shared appetizer of shrimp and crab was very fresh along with the two accompanying sauces. My husband chose a bone end filet --- grilled to perfection. My halibut with freshly made pasta was excellent! Had one-half of a side (creamed spinach) which was plenty. Wait staff was most helpful; wine list nice; dessert choices were not innovative, but we did take a "to go" of cheese cake. We will be back!"

"We had a fantastic dinner. Our waiter, Andrew, was incredible! I wish I could say the same for the sommelier. He was quite rude and belittled us for ordering a $70 bottle of wine. He made comments about other people coming in that night ordering expensive bottles. Those people don't pertain to us so I would recommend that he keeps that to himself and engages us about our purchase. Other than him, this restaraunt was absolutely fantastic!"

"A great place for a special occasion, husband LOVED it again. . .his steak could be cut with a fork, no knife needed! My African Lobster tails were the best, YUM!!! We always share a wedge salad, delicious. I requested Mad Violets wine on the Open Table reservation, & they provided - a unique taste. . .we both love it. We were served over a 3hr period, sat in one of the private rooms right off the bar, romantic, private, & the service was great as always. Lobster bisque, rich & delectable, we also shared the tower appetizer, OMG, simply amazing! Again, my husband was extremely pleased w/my Anniversary/Valentines Day surprise, he was all smiles, there is no better."

"My salad was great, baked potato was very hot but my filet was warm when they served it. I sent it back twice before it was good to the taste. I thought it should have been served on a hot plate & sizzling.
The overall service was great except one of the servers seemed a little agitated because of having to return the filet to get it right."
