A hidden gem in the Knudsen`s Corner area of Holladay, Utah, Franck`s is the new home of Chef Franck Peissel, formerly of L`Avenue Bistro in Sugarhouse fame.
Franck`s is a casual fine dining restaurant set in a renovated old home with a warm, contemporary design. The dining room is small and cozy; it’s a friendly neighborhood "getaway". Franck`s menu may be described as American with a French flare as Franck is French and trained in France before moving to the United States. On the menu you will find classic American comfort food such as fried chicken, meatloaf, and steak as well as classic French dishes such as escargot, cheese fondue, and fois gras.

"Went for Mother's Day Brunch @ $55/per person. Fixed menu said "wine available but not included in price" which makes sense. What didn't make sense was charging for coffee and juice ON TOP of the $55 price. Fixed price brunches almost without exception include coffee/juice.
Staff and setting were great. Food was creative and super tasty at every course. Portions were slightly on the light side. It must have been a very profitable meal for the restaurant.
Looked as though they may not be very experienced w/ special day brunches. We had 10:30 seating and was told food would be served at 10:45 but saw nothing until after 11. We made the 10:30 reservation because we had other commitments."

"Very limited menu, no specials, a 7:00pm on a Saturday they were out of Shortribs? Had to settle for Fried Chicken. Steak has nice presentation but small portion and cold. Outside table covered with leaf's should have cleaned before we were seated. Had to ask for bread, server had tables inside and out thus not consistent attention. Tuscany next door hands down so much better with food and service. First time there will not return."

"I have been to Franck's several times. It is consistently outstanding. Excellent food. Outstanding/personal service. The strange sounding soups are always to die for. If they had a soup and salad offering, I would go there every week. The soup is that good."

"I took my wife here for an early Mother's Day treat, and we loved it!!! My wife said that she wanted to "lick the plate" it was so delicious. We had the meatloaf and fried chicken. The gazpacho was a welcome treat, as I speak Spanish and have beet to Spain and had Gazpacho several times. Yours was unique and fabulous. Thanks one again for a wonder meal. The employees were courteous and polite. Eating here makes me wonder why I go other places!!!"

The food was an interesting inter-play between sweet and savory. It was delicious and intriguing. The mussels were terrific. Oddly, they were served with pomme frites, when what we needed was bread, to soak up all that marvelous sauce.
My bride and I highly recommend both the tuna/scallop dinner, and the meatloaf.
Desserts--carrot cake and the butterscotch pudding were not the highlight of the meal."

"We have been to Franck's a number of times. I chose it as the place to celebrate my birthday.My husband and I both love good food and French food is my favorite. We started with the escargot appetizer, which we enjoyed. I had the duck breast, which was perfectly cooked to medium rare. It was lovely. My husband had the coq au vin, one of our favorite dishes. It was very good, perhaps just a bit too salty. Although we don't live close to Franck's, we will be regulars, every few months. I do wish that there were a few more specials and a few more traditional French dishes on the menu. Service was excellent -- very professional."

"We've been going to Franck's for years, and recommend it to anyone who truly loves fine dining. Pre fixe menus are always a treat for the senses. The atmosphere is pleasant, calm, and inviting. It's perfect for couples, and for showing out of town guests a great time in Utah. Now that Franck's is open for Brunch on Sunday, we look forward to enjoying more of the chef's beautifully conceived, elegantly presented dishes. Last Sunday we delighted in a scrumptious Eggs Benedict with trout, and a savory duck crepe. Highly recommended!"

"I have always loved this restaurant. They think outside of the box yet the food is not so strange that you don't want to eat it. The ambiance is great and it just feels special. The price is on the high end but for a special occasion it is worth it. I would definitely recommend it."

"We had the most exquisite meal for a birthday celebration at Franck's. Started with escargot. We always choose the special soups and the beet/coconut was superb. "My wife had the Tuesday tasting menu and thoroughly enjoyed the tuna crudo, Kurobuta pork shank, and crema catalana. The dishes were so appealing I had to have a taste of each item. The wine pairings complemented the food nicely. I loved the wagyu beef entree artistic presentation and delightful combination of flavors. The lemon trio dessert was so good I was tempted to order another serving. Guess I will have to wait until next time..."

"Absolutely exquisite. Generous portions from a truly unique menu without pretentiousness; innovative and satisfying, no frightening exotica or macabre experiments - real food for the discriminating palate with a vibrant sense of panache.
Only possible improvement: Dessert. Slight, and a bit pricey; however, I'd have gladly paid a bit more for a greater selection, larger portion and level of satisfaction. Lemon Creme brulee was very nice. Please take into account my family are originally from Palermo, Sicily and were highly influenced by old Arabic traditions with very rich, sugary - often ostentatious offerings such as Marzipan Sculpture, Briosche, and many other overwrought confections."

"This was one of the best meals we have had in a very long time. My husband and I eat out often, and this was exceptional! The escargot appetizer's sauce was unbelievable and the candied carrot on the side was so good we had to ask Brian our server. Brian was so passionate about his job and so fun. All people from the hostess to the water person were so happy, we figured it must be an amazing place to work. My fish and my husband's sirloin were both to die for. Prices were reasonable for the caliber of food you received. I only wish we lived in SLC so we could go more often. This chef is top rate and I would only expect food like this in NYC or Paris."

"My father-in-law is a bit of a food snob, and I'm always a little nervous to take him out to dinner. However, he was really impressed by the food at Franck's! After tasting the brussel sprout appetizer, he ordered a second one immediately. He raved about the cherry soup, the wagyu beef, and the blueberry/grape ice cream. He told me he has already told a few other people about it. In addition to the amazing food, the service is really great. We brought our two toddlers with us, and our waitress was very accommodating. She even brought out special small silverware and put a lit candle in our dessert because my three year-old was under the (incorrect) impression that it was her birthday. We will definitely be back!"

"We found Franck's on Google Maps while looking for good restaurants close to Snowbird for dinner while skiing during Spring Break. Google did not steer us wrong and we are glad to have come across it. Only 15 minutes away from Snowbird, Franck's was a great, and better value, alternative to dining every night at the resort. It will be on our lists of places to visit whenever we are in the area."

"My spouse and 2 teenage daughters dined at Franck's during our ski trip to Salt Lake City. The experience at Frank's will be unforgettable for all of us. Each of us thought it was exceptional! The wait staff was very attentive, enthusiastic and very helpful in describing the various menu items - our waiter's recommendations were spot on as well. Appetizers were very good - we shared the fondue, escargot and the crispy brussel sprouts (HIGHLY recommend them but they were a special the night we dined). We each ordered different entrees, ran the gamut - coq au vin, hawaiian wahu, southern fried chicken and duck. Everyone was thrilled. FYI - The salad w/ dinner was INSANELY GOOD!"

"Outstanding sirloin, outstanding coq au vin, outstanding wabu fish. Complimentary soup or salad, and excellent desserts offered by a very friendly chef. The wine list was amazing and affordable. Excellent service. And all of this for a reasonable price.

"Finally tried Franck's and wasn't disappointed. Server missed a few points for messing up on gluten-free requests, but problems were quickly remedied. She made spectacular recommendations- glad we took them! Otherwise I never would have tried the brussel sprout appetizer, which was FANTASTIC. I'm craving it again as I write this review. The sous vide steak and escarol entrees were also superb. Homemade ice cream for dessert was just passable, but otherwise we were thrilled with a romantic, expertly executed, delectable fine dining experience."

"The team did a great job to make the evening nice for us. They accommodated our special requests from OpenTable when I made the reservation. The food was presented very well and tasted even better. "It was awesome.
The food was delicious and the service was excellent. It's elevated comfort food. The atmosphere was ok, but I will go back for the food. There aren't many places in Utah where you get this kind of flavor and quality.
For two people sharing an appetizer and individual entrees and desserts the pre-tip bill was 90 dollars. And make sure you budget for a generous tip and a bit for the valet guy. They will deserve it.
Its worth the money if you love great food or if you want to treat a person who does. They deserve their place at the top of the diners choice lists.

"I really liked the relaxed but romantic feel of this place. Like most places in Utah, there were people in ties and people in Birkenstocks... But in general, it had a romantic and elegant feel. The dining room is small, but comfortable - it kept it quiet. Our server was great and helpful in making our dinner choices.
I had the duck - it was good, but not the best duck I've had. The flavors were great, but the meat was a just a little tough and chewy. My wife's dinner (don't remember exactly what she got) was great! We had their chocolate cake for dessert and it was fabulous!
It was great, but there are so many good places we want to try in SLC before going back..."
