"We arrived on time and got to our table right away. The steaks were excellent, not so crazy about the mushrooms but the dessert was excellent also. The server was very attentive without hovering.
The only downside was the noise level. It was just me and my wife and we were at a two top table in a seperate room from the main dining area which was fine except two large groups were also seated in that room after we arrived and the noise level was so hig it was difficult to have a conversation. Partly my fault though, I should have asked for a different table when I saw the table set for 12 an another for 10 in that small room."

"There are many choices in Dallas for a steak dinner. In my opinion, Pappas is a real standout. The Filet Mignon had great flavor--charred nicely on the outside. The side dishes were equally great. Service was excellent and before dinner, the bar staff were attentive and welcoming. We were celebrating my son's college graduation and they were nice enough to comp the desert for him--which was OUTstanding as well. The waitress gave us plenty of time to eat, digest and relax before we departed happy and looking forward to our next celebratory outing at Pappas."

"I had the 16 oz ribeye and roasted mushrooms. If I had been served this meal in a steakhouse chain restaurant I would have been pleased but it was only good, not great. The mushrooms were nicely seasoned and cooked and the portion was generous. The steak, which I ordered medium rare was very slightly overcooked and not as tender as I expected. Further, the restaurant was very dark. The servers carry flashlights."

"We were well cared for for my son's graduation dinner. Not being able to get a later seating we opted for an early dinner but were seated near the kitchen. Not awful but perhaps a little more noisy compared to other sections of the restaurant where we've eaten before. But the service and the food more than made up for the activity near us. Recommend without hesitation."

"I took my husband for his birthday, and it was fabulous! Definitely a top steak restaurant in Dallas. It is not inexpensive, so it will surely be a special occasion destination for us, but I loved the experience!"

"The experience was first rate but I would absolutely request a table location rather than let them place you. We loved our meal, the service was excellent, but they stuck us at a table that felt as if we were placed in the back, out of site, out of mind. Obviously the locals get the better seats."

"Everything was great but the one minor hiccup was that we ordered our steaks medium and they came med-well. We told the waiter simply so he could tell the chef as we were still happy with the meal and were not looking for any compensation but felt that the chef would liken want to know."

"We had an AMAZING time! We go about once a year and this time we went with some friends who had never been. Just as we sat down, to my amazement our waiter from the last time we were in remembered us as he passed by our table. We requested to move to his table and it was the best decision! He was fantastic! From going over the extensive wine list with the table and making suggestions to just having perfect pacing. Everything was right on. The food was excellent as always. Cooked to perfection, nothing sent back and every request filled no questions asked. I would HIGHLY recommend Pappas Bros. Steakhouse. I only wish they were closer to where we lived so we could go more often!"

"My first time here, didn't know what to expect. I don't think the "dry aged" beef is hype! I expected to take half of my 16 oz Prime Ribeye home with me - that is a big piece of meat in my book - but it just kept melting in my mouth and was gone before I knew it. Best steak I've ever had! Large portions are part of the theme but are meant to be shared. The slice of New York cheesecake was the largest I have ever seen - could seriously be shared by 4 people! It was decadently good. Service was spot on, knowledgeable and attentive without being intrusive. Great for a very special occasion - check the available credit on your card first, especially if you plan on a bottle of wine."

"I took my wife here for dinner. I had a flower arrangement delivered to our table beforehand. Mark was our server. He was very engaging, and the service was excellent. The atmosphere was moderately dark, wood paneling, white linens, very classy. For our appetizer we had shrimp cocktail. This was very good. We then moved on to the most amazing wedge salad ever. We both had 12oz dry aged filet mignon with lobster mac n cheese and creamed spinach. The desert looked awesome, but we both ran out of room. This is a fabulous restaurant. By far our best experience. Would definitely go back."

"For one of the most expensive restaurants in the DFW area, I would expect better attentiveness. Couple of issues were pouring my own wine when the glass was empty, waiting 10-15 minutes to check on interest in dessert and never showing up to take payment of check. For $600 for 4 people, I expect more."

"We've long wanted to visit Pappas Bros. Steakhouse, as Texas Monthly had once (2007?) rated it the best steakhouse in Texas. While the steaks (we had NY strip and ribeye) at Pappas Bros. were good, they were not the best we've had. The mesquite grilled steak at Perinin Ranch were better, as were New York strip & ribeye at Bohanans. In fact, Del Frisco's ribeye was at least equal. The beefsteak tomato/onion salad and the Caesar salad we had were excellent, but rather overpriced.
The atmosphere was a bit loud; fortunately, we were put in a smaller, somewhat quieter room as I had requested.
Service was excellent; not too overbearing (the waitstaff did not "hover"), but always readily available."

"Given a gift certificate, I made a reservation, seated quickly after a courteous valet service. Waitress was prompt, cocktails arrived speedily, my husband was pleased to find a rare scotch that he'd been wanting to taste. Appetizers were a big disappointment, Foie Gras was laughable and the scallops were very salty, shrimp remoulade was good. Caesar Salad was good and Lobster Bisque was passable (a bit on the floury side). We all ordered steaks, my husbands bone in ribeye was the best, but they were all cooked perfectly. Mac and Cheese wasn't particularly special? The sommelier did find us a great Cab/Franc and we had a delicious chocolate marshmallow cake for dessert with a nice port and cappuccino. I've had better for the price"

"The best steakhouse in Dallas, and most likely all of DFW. The food is top notch and the service is fantastic. We love our steak so when a really special occasion comes around we make a 45 minute trip over to Dallas just to eat here. The steak is so tender and flavorful, a friend of ours even calls it "steak butter". We have tried many other steakhouses in DFW and while many are good none can quite compare to Pappas!"
