"I think I was expecting more from someone that chooses to judge other peoples food and style. And I have to admit, it was the furthest thing from my mind that I would be let down by the food quality and service.The family style serving of the dishes gave the meal a disorganized feel. Different servers delivered the meal than took the order and made no attempt to place the dish with the person that ordered it. All of the items on the menu were pretty much straight forward and really did not express any creativity or unique appeal. The scallop entree had each scallop cooked to a different degree. The halibut had a crust of salt so thick it was unpleasant. Twice the waiter poured a drink and spilled a fair amount and left it sit."

"Overall the experience was okay, but I expected more from the food that Craft made. It started off great with the Quail dish but after that everything was not up to par. The Duck Confit was over salty for my taste, same for my girlfriend. The scallops was grainy and salty. The customer service was excellent, however, I just wished the food would match it. I'd probably try another restaurant to compare the food."

"Great service delivered in a subtle manner - attentive but not overbearing. Portions of the shared items was perfect - not a ridiculously large portion that makes the table bend. Food was very very tasty. Wine was fantastic. Very pleasant atmosphere appropriate for a special occasion, work dinner or event with the family (if they are well behaved of course). Driving into the rotunda area shared with a hotel made you feel like you were entering a wealthy friend's house. Their grill was run over an oak fire - very pleasant. Overall a nice feeling. Will definitely repeat this trip."

"Service was slow to start, sat for a while before server came to take a drink order, did not offer the 3/$25 special being offered in Buckhead until AFTER the meal. The amount of food and presentation was not worth the cost, was overpriced for what you get, although the food was well prepared and very good. Upon making a reservation it was noted that we were celebrating a birthday and the server invited us to order a dessert, but there was already one planned for the birthday person, therefore we really had too much dessert. We did very much enjoy the fried donuts. Thank you very much."

"We very much enjoyed Craft - the cocktails were amazing, as were the sides (I could have just had the yukon gold puree and the spinach gratin for dinnner). The portion of scallops was a bit small. The service was excellent. My partner went back the next day to take a colleague to dinner cause he liked the atmosphere so much!"

"I took my girlfriend here as something nice to do on a trip to Atlanta. I have to say the gnocchi was the best I ever had and the Muscovy duck was brilliant. I think the thing that impressed me the most was the wait staff. They worked very well as a team something we don't see in many upscale restaurants in our area. The Cameo Apple -Pecan Napoleon Maple Mascarpone & Apple Cider Sorbet was probably one of the best desserts I have had the texture was odd, but in a very good way that made the whole thing click."

"Craft was just 'okay'. We liked that dinner was served 'family style' as we like to share our food anyway but we made the mistake of getting two seafood items for entrees (scallops and lobster) but were just okay. Nothing stood out other than the aweful music (dance club with poor jazz influence?) and the bill (way up there). I think we had this one built up as being more than it really is..."

"My wife and I have a very nice experience at Craft Atlanta. Other reviews had remarked on the rude service, but we found the service to be very friendly. The food was excellent, especially the mushroom appetizer; however, the prices were high even for Buckhead standards and the serving sizes rather small. Even taking the price into consideration it was a nice change of pace and somewhere that I will eat at again for a special occasion."

"Food and service were spectacular.

"This was our second visit to Craft and again we were very impressed with the food and the service. The wait staff is on top of everything. "Food was great. A bit pricey, but the portions are big and served family style so you don't feel out of place sharing with the table and in fact it is encouraged. Very textural decor. Reminded us of a modern version of Rathburn's Steak. The wine list is extensive and the service is A++. I had some reservations about coming here for a romantic evening, but turned out to be fantastic. After I save up, I'll be back! I can full heartedly recommend the sweetbreads!"

"A wonderful evening at a fantastic establishment. At the request of my guest I reserved a last minute table for two eventhough I had never heard of Craft before. This place is a hidden gem. The lack of visable signage made me feel like I was in on a closely guarded secret. Now I know why. I had a great experience from the valet service to the complementary extras we recieved with our dessert from the Chef. This place is first class all the way. Prices on the upper end of the scale and portions are smaller than I would have liked for the price. The quality of the food made up for the hit to my wallet in spades.

"My wife and I had our 10th anniversary dinner at Craft in Atlanta. The flowers I ordered were on our table when we arrived. The staff thoughtfully presented us with a champagne toast. Our dessert plates had a 'Happy Anniversary' inscription, written in chocolate icing.
The food was extraordinary. A simple meal of scallops, spinach and pureed potatoes presented entirely new and wonderful flavors -- made even more wonderful in combination with each other. Dessert: Irresistible. Service: Great.
The restaurant itself was confidently classy -- designed in a contemporary style that suggested quality without ostentation. And the music on the sound system -- a quiet combination of blues and jazz -- was to my liking.

"Roasted Quail appetizer was nice but under seasoned. I understand wanting to showcase the delicate flavor of the quail but more could have been done. Spinach salad was delicious with a nice smoked bacon flavor. My wife had the Beef Short Rib and it was fantastic. Amazing flavor with the veal stock and Cotes du Rhone. I had a Roasted Lamb Loin with Braised Lamb Shoulder that was amazing and very rich in flavor. The gnocchi were way too large to make them enjoyable. Mostly just a mouth full of dough. Roasted Brussel Sprouts were awesome and simply done. The desert was a Meyer Lemon Steamed Pudding with Thyme ice cream for my wife that was incredible and roasted pear with Roquefort cheese for me.

"The food was very good, although the menu provides little or no description of the offerings which requires going over items 1 by 1 with the waiter. While service was adequate as far as delivering food and beverages to the table there was no personal interaction with the wait staff. We were there on a Sunday evening and the restaurant was no more than 25% full and there were more than an adequate number of servers working, but none offered more than a nod when taking our order or delivering our food. At the price point the restaurant operates at I feel a little congeniality class would serve the restaurant well."

"My Husband and I went there to celebrate a special occasion and I will say they went out of there way to make it nice! They sent out drinks for us to toast our special day and a special dessert that was to die for. The service was great and the food was good. We being in the restaurant business, are sometimes hard to impress, I ordered the lamp which was very good, my husband first ordered the steak and was not pleased with it at all, but to be fair, he is not a big fan of aged beef to start with. This was not a problem, they with no fuss at all quickly replaced it with the short ribs and that seemed to please him, we did fall in love with the fing. potatoes they were perhaps the best thing we had! All in all I would say it was pleasant."

"We were there for a birthday party. I thought it was odd that a restaurant that is as nice as this ran out of cabernet sauvignons under $100. We wanted to drink red wine but weren't willing to spend at minimum $125 per bottle to get something to drink. That was a huge disappointment with the restaurant. We'll likely go elsewhere next time."

"We loved Craft. It is a beautiful restaurant, great decor, and the food excellent. I would like to meet the chef.
However, the excellent wine list is accompanied by outrageous prices. There are many fine wines, and many ordinary wines I can purchase from my local wine merchant -- all priced 3-4 times the retail price. I ended up paying, I think, $28 for an Argentine Malbec, which was good.

Query: Why the wine gouging? It puts a bad taste in the mouth of the average diner who is not on an expense account.

"We went to Craft for our 5th year anniversary and of course had high expectation given all the fuss on this new restaurant.
We were delighted with our selections and the service was outstanding. I highly recommend the mushroom assortment, it was a fantastic size to one of the best meats we've eaten.

We don't eat out regularly since we are very picky with the restaurants we go to, and prefer organic home cooked meals, so when we do try a new restaurant we have high expectations and Craft met all of them."

"Ate here this weekend. Overall it was great, the only issue, which was an undercooked piece of fish was fixed quickly and to perfection. It was also taken off the final bill.
The service was professional but not over intrusive. The food here is really incredible, and the sides and main courses are all large enough to share without being too big like you get in many steak houses.
A great place for two people or a group, really fun. And a great location in the heart of Buckhead."

"Craft's food (especially the sides) is amazing! This was my second visit and the menu was different which is a reason I would dine here multiple times. The wait staff is efficient and well schooled about the menu items. The atmosphere is variable. The table behind us was having a jovial conversation while the table across from us was a quiet, romantic couple. Management is eager to please and is visible to assure that all is well for your dining experience! Can't wait for my next Craft meal!"

"Food and service was good. My only complaint is value. The food is quite expensive compared to other restaurants around Atlanta that serve similar quality fare. For example, Craft was $50 to $100 more expensive than Aria for a similar meal (total check of about $200 at Aria vs $275 at Craft for 2 people and similar courses and drinks)."

"My third time to Craft - each time I would anticipate a better time next time. Service VERY average, food seems to be loaded with salt, prices are high. 6 of us had 1 drink each and the total tab including tip was $540. For that price I would expect nothing less than perfect and I don't feel that this restaurant is anything but very average, if not below average for the service, price and food quality. With all of the restaurants in Atlanta I'm in no hurry to return."

"I was anticipating this dinner to celebrate the birthday of a friend. This was an early dinner so they weren't very crowded. The upstairs was nice, nice art, nice Ambiance. We ordered the Rabbit Ravioli and a Spinach/Beet salad. They were good, but very salty. Next we ordered the Sea Scallops and one of the steaks, a couple of veggies. All were so salty, I should have sent them all back, but didn't."

"Service was the worst ever! apparently the side one of the persons at the table ordered was out, but the waiter never came to ask what he would like instead of that side. when the food arrived said this isnt what i ordered & the waiter says "oh, darn you noticed. we ran out of what you wanted so i just ordered this for you instead." if i am paying $60 for a steak i better get what i want. had to call over waiter everytime we need our drinks refilled. Seriously the worst server ever!"

"The food was good and we tried Tom Colicchio's version of Lump Crab and Grapefruit(good), Ceaser Salad(ok), Lobster(good), Beef Short Rib(good), Brussel Sprouts(very good), Gratin(good), and Fried Donuts(very good). The savory flavors were good and often times too suttle even though they worked. I would have liked a little stronger flavors or spices perhaps some salt would help, but I hate to slap salt onto a dish that I feel is prepared the way a chef intended it to be eaten. The service staff was attentive, knowledgeable, and friendly."

"New Years Eve was my first visit to Craft. I will not return. Our reservations were at 10pm. They did not offer a Merlot by the glass. The wine options offered were terrible. My date ordered Lobster, they had already run out. She then wanted a Filet Mignon . They do not offer on menu. They don't seem to have girl sized steaks on the menu. I was so disappointed with my $230./dlr bill at the end. I'll never return. Tooo many options in Buckhead to put up with this price versus poor result"

"The resturant went out of it's way to surprise my daughter who is a big fan of Tom Colicchio and "Top Chef".
The service was very good.
The food after the too salty scallops were replaced was very good.
Only complaint, portions were much too small.
If it is truly intended to be "family style" only the first course could be shared amongst the three of us.
But we will go back."

"We were disappointed in Craft. After we were seated, we got water but no one else waited on us for a good 15 minutes. We finally flagged our server down. About 5 other people brought our food, filled out water, took drink orders throughout our visit and none seemed to try to connect with us. So we were not happy with the service. We also thought it was overpriced. The menu -- which was oddly laid out -- was a la carte and the cheapest side was $9 and only served one person. Overall, we were underwhelmed."

"I have been to Craft twice and it has been very good both times - excellent the first time and very good the second time. The food is very well made and the balance of flavors is unbelievable. The difference this time was that the sweetbreads were prepared in a way that was less to our personal palate than the first time and the waiter was a snit .... not very helpful and haughty. Other than that, this is one of the top restaurants in Atlanta!"

"Absolutely outstanding! We were told Craft was the best restaurant in Atlanta, and that recommendation was well-warranted. The menu selection was original and somewhat eclectic, but the tastes complemented each other extremely well. Service was great, the wine list was phenomenal, presentation was perfect, and the food quality was superb. For seven adults and one child, with drinks and multiple outstanding wines, I felt that the price after a 20 % tip was quite reasonable at about $1100. You certainly couldn't get a comparable meal in any other major city at that price.

All in all, a perfect family dining experience."

"Great ambience. The food was absolutely delicious. We thoroughly enjoyed the braised beef short ribs, gratin potatoes and gratin spinach. The salmon was cooked perfectly at medium and seasoned very well. For those who enjoy wine, the restaurant offers quite a selection at varying prices. We also had very attentive servers which made the dining experience even more impressive. Dessert consisted of apple tarte tatin and a grapefruit napoleon. Again, both were delicious."

"We were very disappointed in both the food and service. For that kind of price, it should have been a "wow" meal. The service was slow even though the restaurant wasn't full. The wine list was quite expensive once you notice the prices in the first column are for a 3 oz. "taste". The mix and match nature of the menu isn't new as our local steakhouse has benn doing it for years. All in all, we're not quite sure what the hype is all about and aren't likely to go back. Atlanta has plenty of great places for that price level."

"An excellent addition to Atlanta's high-end restaurant scene. The service was excellent and the food creative. The quieter pace on the Sunday night that we visited gave my wife and I a chance to enjoy the meal and admire the creative touches that set off this second floor open space. Neither rushed nor intrusive, the service level matched the creative name behind the restaurant. I thought the food was well prepared and the choices covered both our culinary needs. The brand new Mansion hotel that adjoins the restaurant via a cobbled courtyard gives the entrance a subtle mix of new and old. The Craft bar on the first floor, with its open kitchen and subtle tones of mellow woods looked welcoming on this December evening. Impressive."

"Loved the food. Service was a bit rushed - our plate was taken before we were done with our food and courses came very quickly. Also, eventhough we arrived at the time of our reservation, our party had not. We were told to wait at the bar area, but this was full and there was no place to sit. "We went there on a busy Saturday night in a party of 4. Two of our members were late and they would not seat us until the whole party arrived. The bar area was small and very crowded, it seemed too close to other diners' tables. After our whole party arrived, we were shown to our table. We had several waiters during the dining experience. Service was very slow, granted the resturaunt was packed. We waited an hour and a half for two appetizers, one being a salad. The salad was nothing special. The entrees came about 2 1/2 hours into our meal. The servings were small, but with the sides being al a carte it was enough food. The scallops were amazing and the sides were great too. The dessert menu was very unconviental, but we enjoyed dessert."

"My husband and I went went to this restaurant because we are big Tom Colicchio fans. He is the chef/owner of this restaurant and we could tell. The food was absolutely amazing. We thoroughly enjoyed every course. We started with a Rabbit Ravioli that was delicious. We couldn't figure out what the garnish was on it but whatever it was complimented the dish great! We got lamb and duck for our main courses, both were real treats. We got baby broccoli, brussel sprouts,yukon gold puree and assorted mushrooms as side items. They were all awesome! We were so full but could not stop eating. The dessert menu all sounded so good. We ended up getting a pear crisp and almond ice cream. This restaurant is definitely worth what it costs to dine here."

"I have been a fan of Tom's cooking style since I first purchased his cookbooks almost a decade ago.

I was so disappointed, since Craft Atlanta came very highly recommended. The service was soooo slow, and sloppy--wrong plates brought to our table, had to wait 15 minutes for the waiter to return to ask if the amuse-bouche was gluten-free (it wasn't)--that I think Tom should return to Atlanta to fix the service.

All four of us noticed that our main plates were terribly over-salted, as were most of the sides. (The brussels sprouts were the only exception.)

"I must say that the dining experience was disappointing. The quality of the food was excellent. The preparation had no imagination and because nothing accompanied each course, the feeling I got was eating piecemeal. The vegetable did not enhance the protein of the main course. I will not return to this type of restaurant when there are so many good ones in Atlanta that coordinate a meal so much better.

our server got the wine wrong, thinking an amarone was the same as an albarino...bringing a mixed salad instead of a romaine and anchovy one.
