"Sadly, I wanted Woodberry to be a great dining experience, but the food was just good. Nothing to rave about. The service was excellent and the dessert was very good.
Great for drinks and dessert, and maybe a snack. I plan to skip out on the entree next time. My mac and cheese and flatbread was good, but not great. I think it should be great when one pays a lot for a meal. So sad that Woodberry doesn't live up to its reputation. Or, maybe I was just there on an off night?"

"We really enjoyed our recent visit to Woodberry Kitchen. The brunch was fantastic and the food was so fresh. Our kids really enjoyed it as well. My wife ordered the chicken and waffles and I had the French Toast. It was prepared well and the French Toast was huge. My daughters enjoyed their food as well, especially the skillet potatoes and the scrambled eggs. We will definitely return to Woodberry Kitchen."

"Brought my parents and boyfriend to Baltimore from DC to celebrate a special occasion. We were slightly skeptical as our cab took us way off the beaten path to Woodberry, but as soon as we walked in, any doubt we had disappeared.
In the order in which they were enjoyed: the ambiance and decor of the place were fantastic; the staff was knowledgeable, personable, and prompt; the cocktails were really interesting and tasty; the food was wonderful and seasonal -- though a couple of dishes were slightly under-seasoned. Overall, delicious and a super enjoyable dining experience. I'd go back in a heartbeat!"

"I took my mom to brunch for Mother's day. She loved the atmosphere and attentiveness of the staff. This was my second time here for brunch. The first time was wonderful (stewed chicken and waffles...it was my birthday and I got engaged:). This time, my food was really oily and a little salt heavy. I have a sensitive stomach so I picked over it. I will be back just do not think I will choose the omlet dish again."

"This was our first time at the kitchen and we actually made reservations on Open Table for next month before we left. There is a certain charm about the place that is hard to describe but you just want to come back. The idea of having a snack menu (not appetitizers) is fun. "I recently was diagnosed with a gluten sensitivity, and I was pleased to find out that Woodberry Kitchen offered a gluten free menu. The menu had several delicious looking options in each category and I really enjoyed the food I ate! They even brought out gluten free bread which was pretty good, considering. "We stopped here while on a short vacation to Baltimore. The ambiance was really cool and the food and service was excellent. "We recently went to the Woodberry Kitchen for our anniversary, and overall, we were very pleased. The service is impeccable, from the complimentary valet to the attentive wait staff. The decor has a rustic yet modern feel that provides a nice ambiance for the meal. We had the MK Meatballs as an appetizer, and this was arguably the best part of our dining experience, very well seasoned and quite tastey. My wife loved her meal (Shrimp and Grits), and mine (Middle Neck Clams and Noodles), was just good at best. Overall, very good experience, but the reason I gave 4 instead of 5 stars is I think the price point of the entrees are around 4 to 5 dollars too high, but I guess a restaurant that books out weeks in advance can get away with this."

"Came here for brunch to celebrate a birthday. Best eggs benedict I've ever had in my life. The food was outstanding, but the service was just weird. It took forever for someone to make it over to our table and then when the server finally arrived he was a practically mute automaton. Zero personality or interest in our experience at all.
It's kind of sad. The food is so amazing, but the service was just so lame. I'm not sure I want to spend money at a place where the staff can't be bothered to utter more than two words at a time. Also - wobbly tables. Biggest restaurant pet peeve ever."

"I had done my homework and made sure to get a reservation three months before my work-related trip to Baltimore. To begin with, the restaurant is situated in a great location. The restaurant, a former flour mill, sits next to a former steel mill now housing upscale apartments and businesses. Next door/attached is a great glass gallery, which was hosting a wedding reception that evening. Everything from the food to the service was top-notch! Don't feel intimidated as the staff is great in answering any question you might have about the menu. Pace yourself as you'll want to save room for one of their great desserts. And be sure to get a cocktail that comes in a copper mug! Overall, a great place that I highly recommend."

"if you want rustic local food brilliantly prepared and served to you by a friendly hipster lumberjack...this is your place. Seriously the food was fantastic as well as well as the barista. It's frankly quite rare to find a place that cares just as much about their drinks as they do their food and dining experience. The only reason I gave the service a 4/5 stars was because we got seated by the window and the light was blasting my husband in the face. I doubt this is a rare experience and he had to complain to the hostess before she took note. And at that she had to call over assistance to get the shades lowered. A minor fix in training and the the entire experience would have been top notch."

"I was in foodie heaven for two reasons: 1) the fresh food is exquisitely prepared; and 2) their gluten-free menu was equal to the regular menu rather than a kind but dull add-on, as it is in some restaurants.
I ordered Liberty Delight Tavern Steak medium rare for my main and that's exactly how it was cooked. Perfect. It was served on a bed of roasted vegetables that perfectly complemented the steak. Bliss! My husband ordered pork loin which he said was delicious -- after he recovered from its odd presentation in a pressed brick. Plum Forest was among the best of the flourless chocolate cakes I've tried.
Note: Very noisy. Go early if you want a quiet dinner."

"Unfortunately we did not think the food was very good. I do not like it when they think I want ground pepper on my food. They should ask me. My hot chocolate was not hot, nor was my food. My husband liked everything but the food."

"We stuck with smaller plates to taste around the menu. Ian all we tried, neither my husband nor I found anything inspiring or even very good about any of the plates. The highlight was my green salad... okay, and the cocktails. If I were to go back for anything, it would be for the bar."

"The drive was a bit odd from the city but as soon as we drove up to the building we realized it was character that could not be found in the hustle and bustle of the city. The ambiance was incredible, the staff warm and knowledgeable and the food was exciting and delicious. Would recommend to anyone looking for charm, delicious food, something off the beaten path. The wine list also had so much to choose from! We cant wait for another excuse to go back!"

"No restaurant does Scallops better than Woodberry. Great service as always. We were seated upstairs, which may have impacted the arrival of our entrees. They were not quite as hot as they should have been but still delicious. Hubby had steak, which was perfectly cooked. Normally give Woodberry 5 stars--4 stars this time because of the temp of entrees. Still our favorite place and we will be back soon!"

"My husband and myself have dined at WJ three times, and each occasion as special as the last. The food is gorgeously presented and tastes wonderful, with fresh ingredients and masterful preperation. In addition, all of the wait staff and waiters/waitresses are enthusiastic and genuine in wanting to make your time spent their relaxing and worthwhile. I will be back at Woodberry Kitchen as soon as time allows."

"Set in an old mill, Woodberry Kitchen provides a whimsical and very special dining experience. The juxtaposition of Baltimore's industrial past and it's modern future creates a perfect environment for a romantic dinner or important business meeting alike. Woodberry Kitchen is a bastion of the slow food movement, which seems to have swept through Baltimore with increasing pace in the last decade. The food is mostly locally sourced and you can always be assured that you will be treated to some very interesting creations from the chefs. We make the trip from DC at least twice a year!"

"I travel to Baltimore for work and come to Woodberry Kitchen every chance I get. The atmosphere is great, the food is all local and everything is made at the kitchen. Including all the bread and butter. They use fresh local ingredients. It's a great experience, I highly recommend it!"

"It's hard to go wrong at Woodberry Kitchen. The winter can be a bit rough, but the rest of the year they consistently knock it out of the park. Weekend brunch is fantastic, and the dinner options are usually awesome. Yes, it's a bit pricey, but it is worth it!"

"Woodberry is a wonderful restaurant for an evening out. The ambiance is terrific. Warm and inviting with three separate seating areas: there's the bar area with an open kitchen that's very active; a large room that's lovely with high ceilings and the loft which is my favorite. In warmer weather there's a great outdoor area. The food is outstanding. Drink menu innovative. From the unique flatbreads to a steak you can't go wrong at this great, yet out of the way spot!!! For desert have the kitchen sink!"

"It took a long time to get a 9:30 diner res. The the meat ball appiteser was suggested and was ok. I could tell that the beef and pork wee ground and mixed in house but in my opinion, the mixture wasn't mixed enough and wasn't aloud to sit so the flavors meld. My wifes steak that was said to have been fresh cut at the resturant was soooo tough that she could hardly chew it. It was so late that she didn't want to send it back. It wasn't worth the wait, the late reservation and the food. I won't go back."

"Being from California, I was immediately transported back to some of my favorite restaurants. The ambiance, food and decor was like coming to a large dinner party and the chef was a good friend who invited you over for dinner. Knowing that the food was grown locally made me even happier. We had the Fish/Clams and Crab Cake entrees which were both savory, soulful and delicious. Our appetizer was the Gnoochi, which was favorful and warmed my taste buds. For dessert we had "The Kitchen Sink", which is cookie dough ice-cream w/ brownies, blondies, whipped cream and chocolate sauce. The ice cream was homemade. Who does that? Woodberry Kitchen does and I loved it!! A wonderful experience overall."
