"We were celebrating a friends 50th wedding anniversary. Food was very good as was the service. She was attentive and had a nice personality. Tables are closer together than ideal and the noise level was higher than we'd preferred as the restaurant was busy."

"I have been a fan of Mitchell's for years. I'm glad that the luncheon menu is different now than the dinner one. Before, the dinner menu was the basis for the smaller portion lunch menu. Now there are specific lunch items that are very different from the dinner's. I loved the lobster roll! It was perfect and resembled my Maine cravings exactly. My friend had the tuna melt (without the melt) and cleaned her plate.

"Went there for our Silver Wedding Anniversary. I put that down on the OpenTable comments, and the Matire'D and hostess both saw it on their computer and congratulated us. The food was very good. I had the crab cakes and my wife had the salmon. Most entrees were in the twenty to thirty dollar range. The bar in front has a huge TV if you're into watching sports in a bar. Nice location in the Streets of West Chester - we browsed Barnes and Noble after dinner. They have a few outdoor tables which would be good for people watching in good weather."

"We were seated directly in front of the display of fish and lobster. It must be the busiest and loudest spot in the whole restaurant. It felt like there was one too many tables in the area, so our table and chairs were constantly being run into and bumped. We could hardly hear each other speaking, so that was disappointing.
In November, we celebrated my father's 70th birthday here but REQUESTED the quietest area of the restaurant. It was a MUCH more enjoyable experience!"

"Food Outstanding as usual, service great. Meals were the Americana & Shanghi Sampler along with Chowder. Lemon Drop was Great! Mother's Day was without a doubt a hectic day but the staff was exceptional and in no way made you feel rushed. A very relaxing experience."

"The food and service were both outstanding. The Clam chowder was the best I have ever had--if I were at home I might have licked the bowl. We ordered from their current special list and the Shrimp and Lobster Pasta was a great choice. I recommend this restaurant any time you want fresh seafood artfully made."

"If you are looking for some good fresh seafood, it is hard to beat Mitchell's. They are but far our favorite seafood place to eat, nowhere is even close. The service is excellent and they will make sure whatever details are needed are done to a tee. Look forward to going there again soon."

"I recently visited the location in West Chester on Mother's Day at lunch. The place was packed with happy, joyous people. I really enjoyed the food, the service was excellent, but the noise was deafening at times. I couldn't hear the person sitting to my left (my host). I have been at Mitchell's during both lunch and dinner occasions, and will return for both. I'll just pick quieter occasions."

"We went to Mitchell's for lunch on Mother's Day. We had a party of five and a reservation through Open Table. We got in right away and were waited on promptly ans each mother was given a long stem red rose in honor of Mother's Day. Our food was served within a reasonable time and everyone's dish was delicious! I had the Shang High Medley, my mother had the chicken, and everyone else had the Fish Market Trio. We split Key Lime Pie and the chocolate pie for dessert. The waite staff was great and the meals and dessert were delicious!!! I highly recommend this place!!"

"I took my wife and kids to Mitchell's on Mothers's Day. I made the reservation well in advance but at the last minute added one person to our party ( my fault there). Because of the addition to our party, we were seated at the first table inside the bar closest to the front door. The weather had taken a turn toward colder and we were very cold during the meal. When asked about moving the greeter informed us that this was the only table that could accommodate 5 guests.the food was OK but over priced. Won't be coming back anytime soon, very disappointed in this experience."

"I always enjoy going to Mitchell's Fish Market. In my opinion, the ambiance at the Newport location is a bit more romantic than the West Chester location, for whatever reason, so if you're going out for a special occasion, I would recommend Newport. But the food and service is always just as great. I try to change up my order every time I go, and I have never had anything that was anything less than delicious."

The service was excellent. Our server was very knowledgeable, & got our order done correctly, even though we asked for substitutions & dietary restrictions. The service was prompt & friendly. Our food was also excellent, & came to us exactly as we had ordered. For example, I ordered grilled trout with no added butter, & extra veggies instead of potatoes, also with no butter or sauce. Our table shared the chocolate cake for dessert, & it was so worth the splurge! It was moist & rich....a perfect ending to a great meal. We have eaten @ Mitchell's many times; this time it was OUTSTANDING."

"Excellent food preparation, just as you like it done. Great service. Restaurant needs to purchase butter/flame underneath warmers so when you order KING CRAB DINNER, it does not get cold after the first bite. Jags does this, as does most restaurants. The bread is outstanding as always. Mitchell's is a go-to place for us, and all the other friends we bring with us."

"Mitchell's is one of my favorite restaurants -- and I eat out a lot. My friend and I celebrated her birthday, and the meal was a pleasure. The service was outstanding. we ate outside in the peerfecct spring weather.
I have so many favorites at Mitchell's, but tried something new -- the shrimp tacos, spicy version. Wow! I am salivating just writing about them. The tacos have been added to the top of my favorite list. Can't wait to return!"

"My husband & I were hoping for a wonderful romantic dinner for our 10th wedding anniversary. Unfortunately, that is not what we got. We could tell right away that our waiter was on the flaky side. We decided to share the crab cake appetizer, which came out barely warm. The waiter did not bring us appetizer plates, so we just used our bread plates. Our dinner was taking a very long time, and when we called over our waiter (who had not been over to check on us in quite some time), he looked over at the kitchen and said, “oh, it’s just coming out now”. A lie! Our food was luke warm at best and had obviously been sitting out for some time. We complained to him, and he clearly had no idea how to handle the situation, so we asked for the manager."

"I asked for a reservation the night before and we were going out to celebrate my birthday. I was happily surprised when we arrived my boyfriend and I were seated on time, and they had printed out menus that said Happy 29th Birthday. I don't think a restaurant has ever made that type of effort. All because I put comments in the comments section on Open Table. We had a great dinner. The service was spectacular our waiter was extremely courteous. I made numerous substitutions and even ordered a soup. I love their lobster bisque. (It actually had bits of lobster in the soup unlike other restaurants that just have the taste.) I would go there again for any special occasion."

"I made a reservation via "Open Table" and requested a "romantic booth" for our 44th wedding anniversary.(This was our first visit.)When we arrived e were taken to our booth, the restaurant isn't the most romantic of settings, but the booth location was very good. On the table was an envelope that said Happy Anniversary on the front and inside there best wishes and to us on our 44th (nice touch)Our server Brook came to the table and was genuinely happy for us and congratulated us, she was very sweet. She took excellent care of us through out the dinner. The Lobster tails were perfect, my wife had the filet mignon,she it was as good as the best she has ordered. Everything was great we will be back!"
