"We went to Zibbibo for dinner on Fathers Day. Zibbibo is usually closed on Sundays but opens for special days like Mothers Day and Fathers Day, which I really appreciate.
My daughter ordered the hummus appetizer, her favorite! My ex ordered the Duck Confit salad, another consistent favorite. After watching too many cooking shows making scallops I just had to have that; excellent. We also ordered the prime rib; good not great.
Our server was attentive but not intrusive; added to the pleasant experience.
Overall a great dinner!"

"I brought a date here, as I'd had good experience in the past with the food quality and wine choices. However, we were intitially seated right next to the kitchen, which was very loud, and very HOT, as we were right next to the pizza oven. Really, next to a hot flame? I can't believe anyone is expected to sit there. I asked to move, and we were given a different location. The staff was gracious about it, they didn't argue or roll their eyes, but they certainly didn't seem apologetic and didn't really seem to "get it". That wasn't the best ambiance. Why were we stuck in that spot in the first place? The food is good, but I doubt I'll return after that experience."

"Our party of three enjoyed a sampling of their appetizers and thoroughly enjoyed all of them, especially the hummus with home made pita bread. All of the entrees were above expectations. I will certainly dine at Zibibbo in the future."

"I thought of trying the Seafood Paella and I have to say that it is the worst paella Ive ever had. I only had 4 bites and I had to stop. The sausage had a terrible taste. I was very dissappointed because I have always like Zibibbo and I am a foodie and go out often. My friends who were visiting from London had the Grilled Scallops and they were not pleased as well but managed to finish their food. My husband had the Pancetta pizza and he said it was okay. The service was quite dissappointing as well. Although we had reservation, we weren't served for almost 20 mins after we got our table. We didn't stay for the dessert."

"We have been going to Zibibbo's for years. This time we definitely felt that the restaurant has lost its vibe amongst the newer restaurants in Palo Alto. Service was poor and the beers on tap were not available, a sign of lack of demand. The waitress did not know what was on the menu. Overall a mediocre experience. Could be our last trip to Zibibbo, that's too bad !"

"things started ok with several appetizers, but then we waited for 30 mins for our main course to be served. the entrees were average in taste--kind of bland. the waitress never have an update why the food wad taking long to come out, never apologized, and never came by afterward to ask how it was.
a bad experience for a high end restaurant."

"It was extremely hot in the restaurant. Turns out since it was after 10.00p.m (which is when they close) they turned the AC off. We requested to open the big door but once it was 10.00 p.m they closed that too."

"Made a reservation to celebrate our anniversary. Had great reviews and promising menu. Place is nice, service was very good but the food was boring and disappointing. Wasn't bad but just nothing special. To top it off our babysitter's improvised chocolate muffins were better the next day than our molten lava cake fresh out of the oven."

"No complain about food, but they could improve wine list a bit, because they don't seem to have the middle price range ($40 ~60) wine on the list. There was a wedding reception, so they put us in the sort of like an outdoor courtyard which is ok for a summer night, but there was a group of about 15 women next to us, when these ladies started to talk, we hardly could hear each other. Unfortunately we also needed to ask for bread, the waiter seemed to forget...."

"The staff was attentive and patient...we were the last ones in the restaurant. The food was tasty and it was easy to find the right wine. It was a first date and she had been there before...one of her favorites. I could see Zibibbo becoming one of mine also."

"The ocassion was my husband's birthday and although the food was good and the waiter excelllent (Claudio) I was very disappointed by the barn like atmosphere. Obviously Zibobbo counts on the bar crowd; the space dedicated to them and the exhaustive wine list tell me this. I will only recommend this place to my drinking friends."

"Service was outstanding. The appetizer for the price was meager. It was tasty though. T he food was good. Not outstanding, but probably should be for the prices. It's an okay restaurant. I'd like to come back for the small plates though."

"The food was good. the service was great until the dessert, Although we were warned about a dessert taking 15 minutes. We waited 35-40 minutes with no one getting back to inform us of the delay. The dessert showed up immediately after we requested the check to leave. The communication between the kitchen and the wait team can be better to let the patron know if an order is delayed. It ruined an almost perfect meal."

"The food was great, the ambiance and service were lacking. I had the salmon, and I have had the goat cheese tart before. Both were delicious. I went for a friend's birthday, and all of the food was excellent."

"Zibibbo was recommended by a local. We were having a little family celebration. What a meal! Our waitress recommended the cigars to go with the yummy mussels for an appetizer. Let them cool! We burned our tongues. Delicious. Two of us had the evening's special of roast duck. One had roast pork. The portions were generous. The ladies could have shared an entre and been full. As it was we each took some home. We did share a light panna cotta with mango for dessert. Again recommended by our waitress. Dinner for 4 was $300 and included a bottle of wine and after dinner coffees. We went early and the atmosphere was relaxed, but as the evening moved on our waitress became very busy and the noise level rose. We had a lovely evening."

"My partner and I enjoyed our meal. I had the wild mushroom tart, which was quite tasty but not very mushroomy and, interestingly, came with a salad on top of it. He liked the roast chicken. The brussels sprout side dish was OK and the apple crepes were quite good. They have a large wine list with selections from every price range. I had the bordeaux flight, which was four 2-ounce glasses of selected wines...quite a nice thing for me since two glasses of wine is too much and one often seems like not quite enough. Our server was friendly and attentive and paced things well. We were there at the end of the evening so it wasn't very crowded but it's a huge place and seemed like it could get noisy."

"Terrible service! The portions of food were generous but the taste was pretty bland. We had hoped that a mediterranean restaurant would have more flavorful offerings but we were disappointed."

"We sat outside in the garden which was very comfortable with abundant heat lamps. We ordered the appetizer plate (pick 3). Of that arancinis were a hit. The sliced fennel & arugula salad with orange slices is refreshing and the vinaigrette is just right, not too tart. Main was pork tenderloin and the serving was abundant. Subtle seasoning and spices but very flavorful all-together. The inside seating is much noisier than the garden but may be fitting for many. We were looking for a quiet romantic corner and the restaurant accommodated very well."

"We enjoyed very much our lunch at Zibibbo. We were the only party in the garden room which made it nice and quiet. However, it was a bit worrisome that they were not busier at the lunch hour on a Friday. The food was delicious, although I didn't care for the banana bread pudding that we had for dessert. The place in general looked tired, in need of a face lift. It seems to me that Zibibbo occupies more space than it needs. My favorite part is the front section of the restaurant which faces Kipling."

"Excellent food, especially the roasted mussels, but also the other "little" dishes. An entertaining dinner for a group to share dishes and a nice ambiance especially on warm days when you can eat in the open courtyard."

"Food was mixed with some in the party with average food and with some in our party loving their entree. The duck was very good while the mushroom tart (really just a quiche) was not very good. The wine list is excellent."

"The food at Zibibbo is consistently great, as is their wine list. The restaurant is often LOUD. The service was erratic. It took too long to order and visits to the table were uneven. An incorrect dish was brought to the table, though we were comped which was generous.
If Zibbibo was less noisy and has more variability on the menu it would be one of my top 3-5 choices in Palo Alto. I'll still go back."

"I've been here before and liked it. This time we went for V day. We were seated at our reserved time in a packed place that was nice. The short ribs were good the lamb special not so much. Looked like it had been left out for a bit before serving.
Service was good and not overbearing. At the dessert course they had to be reminded to bring the other one out. Overall I'd say the place was good and would go back again."

"Valentine's Dinner, so perhaps not the usual scenario, but the food was terrific; and exceptional surprise even for my very "Foodie" wife. I suspect it wold be more "vibrant" on other occasions. Service was impeccable. Portions were more than adequate. We brought our own wine, but from what I saw the wine list was extensive but pricey."
