Created by the owners of long standing restaurant COBBLESTONES of Lowell; Moonstones is named for the pearly moon-like precious gem and oyster native to New England. Moonstones celebrates global bonds—the moon, the sea, the love of food, wine and revelry. We invite you to celebrate with us the worldly influence in all elements ranging from our local, creative raw bar selections, to our tapas designed for sharing life with friends in mind, to the bread we bake fresh each day to accompany our ‘crostini’ selections. Our creative cocktail menu draws inspiration from various international favorites, as does the carefully selected beer and wine list. Our design seeks to promote celebration, or just relaxation, in a local, sophisticated atmosphere to chill with friends. Think global, eat local.
"Unique food which was fantastic. Our party of 3 shared several small plates and the dessert sampler. Everything was interesting, flavorful and the presentation was nice. Have told several people about Moonstones in the past 2 days and can't wait to go back!"

"We didn't have a very good experience at Moonstones. The service was very slow, we waited 1/2 hour before we were even offer a drink. We were never offered water and I noticed that all the other tables had water. I thought the food was just okay. We have been to Cobblestones quite a few times and like it very much. The manager came over and said next time would be better, but I won't give it a next time."

"Once you get by the rather nondescript exterior, this restaurant is a fantastic place. It has a cool lounge/bar area, raw bar, and some very yummy mixed drinks. The staff was friendly and attentive which is always a plus. The menu is diverse and interesting drawing from many cultural influences. Something for everyone. I had the rib eye - which was outstanding.
Highly recommended!"

"Menu was vast and we liked the idea of tapas style dining (small plates to be shared). Unique menu items ranging from flatbread pizza to lamb to pad Thai. Unique flavored beautifully presented. Server was responsive, very knowledgeable about the menu and wager to answer any questions. If there are large oarties it can get loud in the dining room. Highly recommend."

"We were all impressed,we ordered the wild mushroom risotto, sesame soy lacquered salmon, scallops and shrimp pad thai and chcicken and shrimp piccata. We decided to share all 4 entrees and these were outstanding. Creme brulee was to die for! Highly recommend this restaurant!"

"Place was packed. Nice decor. Menu interesting, but limited. They also had small plates which we will try next time. Service was very slow, but that may been intentionally paced. Planning to go back in the near future."

"Pros: Excellent service by Lindsay Excellent Joe Burger and fries Very good beer recommendation (Tucher Hefeweisen) Cons: On the pricey side Mixed greens salad w/candied pecans & grapes (did they forget to add those?) Caesar salad croutons (worst anywhere ever!) Chianti glazed meatballs (overcooked and dry) Bottomline: Possible revisit for special occasion with group. Not suitable for romantic or intimate dining. Not regularly affordable for the average joe."

"Although Moonstones serves regular entrees, we went small plates instead. We had an assortment (Moonstones has a wide variety of cuisines fom which to choose), and I highly recommend the meatballs and the prosciutto with figs. For dessert, have whatever th chocolate thing is - absolutely fantastic! Service was very nice, and although the bar was loud, we'll definitely be back!"

"The food and ambiance are great. Nice selection of tapas, apps and entrees....great raw bar. Nice drink menu..wine list was only fair. Plenty of free on site parking. Service was only fair...our server was not knowledgeable and unable to answer basic questions on the food and drink menu. He also disappeared for long periods of time. I would give it another try."

"We have been before and the menu is now feeling repetitive. The music was too loud for 6pm (more suitable for a bar than a restaurant). There was also a cold draft every time the outside door opened so it was hard to get comfortable. Our particular waitress was not very competent."

"The food was great but we where looking more for a late lunch early dinner on a Sunday at 2:30. The Bloody Mary bar was a welcome surprise. There was limited menu that was not "breakfast" brunch, I thought the food would disappoint but.. not true the Bolognese was very good, flavorful sauce and delicate pasta. The burgers were also good and the fries exceptional. Our friend enjoyed her omelet and we will be back a little earlier next time to try red velvet pancakes."

"Our server was fantastic. I wish I could remember his name because I would recommend him to everybody. The food was terrific as well. I would not recommend the baby artichoke tapa however. It is laden with green beans and almost no artichokes. The rest of the food from the oysters to the meatballs were exquisite. Great experience all around."

"As always the food is quite good, but the prices are insane for Chelmsford MA. I'd go to this restaurant much more if the prices were in line with the location and dining. The prices are high end Boston prices and they simply don't deliver that experience."

"What a great experience we had for the third time, we have enjoyed this restaurant for special dinners and have not been disappointed. The wonderful service started at the front door, we were early for our reservation and were seated in the lounge for a drink and quickly severed. Our waiter at the table did a great job and did not rush us through the dining experience; the food was excellent and was price appropriately."

"Sometimes Valentine Day dinners can be less than memorable. However, we were pleasantly surprised at Moonstones. We started with mock cocktails which we both enjoyed. We tried two appetizers...the mini fondue and poached pears. While the the pears were fine the fondue was to die for. I'd go back just to have the fondue. The best was yet to come. My wife and I shared the Surf and Turf which consisted of two filets, two half lobsters and two potato egg rolls. Everything was delicious and I do not normally like potato. The only disappointing part of the meal was the dessert. We shared the Zeppole. They were too cake like. We will definitely return to Moonstones!!!"

"This was our first time at Moonstones and it was wonderful. I noted on the reservation that we were celebrating a birthday and we were given a wonderful table by the fireplace--very romantic. The service was fantastic and the platter for two was a perfect way to sample the variety on the menu. We'll definitely back and look forward to enjoying the bar."
