Buca di Beppo serves authentic Italian cuisine in an eclectic, vintage setting. Our dishes are served family-style, meant to be shared by everyone at the table. Two sizes are available: BUCA SMALL feeds up to two and BUCA LARGE feeds up to four. At Buca, guests delight in our lively atmosphere, enjoy the classic tunes of Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin and admire our décor, including family photos and candid shots of Italian-American icons, such as Sophia Loren and Joe DiMaggio. "We reserved for our daughter's sixteenth birthday. She had a blast., loved the food and atmosphere. The server was very accommodating, and pleasant. Anyone that we encountered prior to and during the reservation process as well as once we were at the restaurant, were very helpful and courteous."

"(1) The food quality here in Universal City was relatively poorer than other cities, such as Minneapolis, MN.

"Birthday songs that will be heard during my dining with whatever girl I bring for a date but there was only one heard towards the end & it wasn't that bad. So the service was GOOD despite the fact that it was INCREDIBLY BUSY on Memorial Day and the presence of little kids didn't bother us the WHOLE TIME. =)"

"We wanted to make last minute reservations for a party of 14 and Buca di Beppo was able to accommodate our party same day! The food here is consistently good--if fact, it was better than when I last visited years ago--and the atmosphere fun. Most importantly our server, Josh, was attentive (but not overly so), thorough and set the tone for what pleasantly turned out to be a fun and wonderful evening. We will definitely go back for big group events. Thanks Buca!"

"While the food and atmosphere were very pleasing, my guests and I could not get past the uncomfortable, rude, and unpleasant demeanor of our server. He did not smile at all, spoke with a very serious tone, made my guests feel uncomfortable, was unapproachable, and did not properly handle our payments at the end."

"Went there for son's bday. Spent >$150 for 4 adults and 3 kids. After asking to box up left overs,, was given the bill and not asked if we wanted dessert. Bday celebration was noted on reservation and hostess even asked. We had to tell the server, he then asked if we wanted the dessert menu. would've ordered something but at that point, the bill was given to us and my son wanted to just go home and open his gifts. When the menu came, I told our server that we're gonna pass on the dessert since we got our bill already, shortly, he came back with a candlestick and other servers, then sang happy bday to my son. No ice cream or any other treats. Very disappointed!"

"Has to wait almost an extra hour for a table with an 8:30pm reservation. Wait times without a reservation were running 1 to 1 1/2 hours. No apoligies from staff, just "we're doing the best we can", and "please wait your turn". Not a good place for large families or gatherings. Good for couples and small parties that don't mind the wait."

Server was good and knew we were in a hurry, but then he inexplicably disappeared after dropping the check and we waited ages before finally getting another server to close out the bill. Very noisy family restaurant, so be aware of that when you go."

"Went with my co workers for lunch.Restaurent is at great place citywalk.
We went around 12 pm and it was not that packed.Host took us to our table through kitchen which was little weird.We were already feeling little strange and then to our surprise our table was just next to kitchen which was kinda noisy and uncomfortable.
Even though i made reservation a day before still they could not reserve some good place for 6 people to fit.
Anyway our waiter was weird too..he was not that nice and seems like he was in hurry.so was not paying enough attention what we are asking.Second i had to ask for bread on the table..he seems like lost or disinterested in serving us.
Food was great though as always.I might prefer going to Santa monica's bucca"

"Amid the ceaseless clatter of bus boys stacking plates behind us, our server, slow and forgetful, was a dismal failure. We like Buca, but not this time. We will go back, of course, the food and ambiance are what we love about this place, but we'll definitely be asking for a different table (away from the bus station) and not in that waiter's section. Overall, we give this visit a "fair", but would usually give it an "excellent"."

"It wasn't bad... Great portions and because of that not a bad value, however food just OK, a little bland. Service was again OK, never refiled any of our waters at the table and my kids pizza arrived 10 minutes after the main dishes. Don't see us going back."

"The waiter lacked personality. The hostess lacked listening skills. I had lost my party and she sent me up to table 70 to look for a different party. I climbed 3 flights after a very long day at universal. Would not have minded if it had been to see my actual group. Then she realized she had picked the first last name she saw without asking more like the first name of the party I was with. The food has been better in the past."

"A coupon for lasagna, but not allowed to choose the variety you want?? Vegetarian lasagna is not what I went for, so don't make me eat that. And shouldn't the waiter have seen the coupon before we brought it in??

"I've eaten at several different Buca di Beppo restaurants in the past. It is one of my favorite chains. However, this experience was the worst I've ever had at a Buca di Beppo. Although my reservation was for 7:45 pm and we arrived on time, it was after 8:15 by the time we were seated. We were totally ignored for another 10-15 minutes before being asked for our drink order, at which time we ordered a salad. We also asked for bread that is usually brought to the table upon seating. When the drinks were delivered, there was no bread; the waiter said they were out and took our entree orders. Another 10-15 minutes later, the manager stopped by to ask if everything was okay. We asked for bread. Which finally arrived with the entrees"

"The first thing inside the door was a large picture with a man and his private part - embarrassing for the young girls I brought. We had never been there before and didn't really know how to order. We ordered the 4 for $40.00 and got the baked ziti. Thought there would be meat sauce on it but it was pretty plain. Good flavor but not for kids that hate mac and cheese. The waiter was super friendly and helpful. The atmosphere was great. I think we would go again but order differently. I was afraid the kids menu would not be enough for the girls but one girl ordered it and it was enough for an adult."

"Disappointed in our February 21st visit. Restaurant was not busy, and service was terribly slow. Food can be extremely over-priced, even with a coupon. A large bowl of spaghetti with marinara sauce for $20 is tough to justify. Ordered a salad, a pasta, and a chicken parmigiana dish. Waiter told us that the small chicken dish had 3 large pieces and the large dish would include 5 large pieces of chicken. We ordered the small, and it cam with only two chicken breast pieces. How was the salad? It did not show up. For pasta, we got a chicken and sausage ziti with a garlic cream sauce. I don't know about you, but I like freshly prepared chicken. This chicken in this dish had that leftover/reheated taste which just isn't acceptable to me."

"I loved the food it was delicious and the waiter was friendly. The only problem was that I thought the tables were a bit to close making it crowded and the food took a bit longer than expected. If it took long because the number of people that were in the restraunt then I understand."

"Me and my family went to Buca di Beppo on Universal CityWalk to celebrate a birthday. The service was great, staff treated us like family and the food was delicious. In my reservation I mentioned we were celebrating a birthday and they arranged for a few waiters and waitresses to sing for a special Buca di Beppo birthday song. Definitely recommend this place to anyone looking to have a family night. Going back again real again soon."

"Overall the restaurant was excellent as was the food. Where they receive a big thumbs down was the noise. There was one party that was so loud that we actually considered leaving. I am all for going out and having a good time but this group of young women were rudeaand obnoxious."
