"Had a great server, excellent cocktails (made by a real professional) and awesome food. The chicken fried Berkshire pork chop is ridiculous along side the fingerling and arugula salad with a tarragon vinaigrette. This has become one of my favorite spots in the city and worth a drive from the beaches."

"Restaurant was very accommodating for a medium-sized group. Making and modifying reservation was super easy. Service was ok, could have some improvement. Space is small but pleasant; noisy chairs though. Music was great. Food was excellent. The pear jalapeno margaritas are the best."

"I brought my mom, dad and stepmother to Orsay for Mother's Day Brunch and it was their first time experiencing this gem. The entire event was enjoyed by all with comments that they would definitely return maybe for dinner next time. As usual, the staff was excellent and the menu items were awesome for brunch! I couldn't have asked for a better first time experience with my parents."

"My family and I went to Orsay the night before Mother's Day and had a fabulous meal. My husband ordered two excellent bottles of wine from their outstanding wine list. The server had the sommelier help her to open them and they were perfect! The seafood platter appetizer was huge and excellent. We had an assortment of entrees and everyones favorite was the pork chop. It was cooked perfectly! The desserts were amazing. My daughters got the chocolate molten cake and said it was the best that they had ever had. We had the bread pudding and several of their ice creams and all were fantastic! The service was prompt, professional yet friendly! We had an awesome experience!"

"In a neighborhood with as many dining choices as Avondale, Orsay always stands out as that someplace special. No reason to leave the neighborhood to spend special time at a special place. The foods great, and their house special cocktails are always a treat. The wine list is solid, and the staff know their business. Try and save some room for dessert as there are a few standouts."

"We were very disappointed. We had a7:15 reservation and were 5 minutes late due to traffic. We did call to let them know. We arrived at 7:20 and had to stand and wait 15 minutes before we were shown to our table, a two-top very close to the next one. Our waiter, Chris, was very pleasant but the wait for our drinks was lengthy. He did apologize saying the bar was slammed. My entree was mediocre- ragout of lamb over papperdali noodles. The sauce was watery and the lamb was not tender. My husband's pork shank was average. The noise level was high- you really could not have a private conversation w/o raising your voice enough to be heard by the next table. This was our second visit. Obviously, the first one was much better!"

"This was our second trip to this restaraunt and it was superb. Once we arrived we were seated I the busy bar area next to the lounge. It was not really the atmosphere we were looking for on this outing. The host simply relocated us to a quiet table in the back. Our server david recommended awesome dishes from start to finish as well as great wine. We love this place!"

"I love to support local restaurants so I was disappointed when my meal here was not what I had hoped for. I was very disappointed with the food. "The food was great and our server was fantastic. Other staff, however, weren't. One man found several opportunities to come by our table and make comments about the restaurant closing up, such as: "Would you like any coffee before we pour it out? We're closing soon." That was just one of several. Very embarrassing because I had bragged about the place to my out-of-town guest and this is her first experience. We weren't at the restaurant more than an hour and a half. AND, we had a reservation. My suggestion is not to accept reservations 30 minutes before closing. This is supposed to be a more upscale restaurant where people can take their time enjoying their meals and conversation. With as much I paid for meals and drinks, I expect more."

"We went to celebrate our one year wedding anniversary. We were really anticipating our first visit to Orsay. We've been to all of the really good restaurants from Orange Park to the Beaches and from Ponte Vedra to St. Augustine and this was the best. A lot of great detail in every aspect from food and sauces to wine service. Everyone who worked there had been trained properly in fine dining. The timing of the courses to the presentation of the wines was impeccable!! We will return before our next anniversary!"

"This was our anniversary dinner - they gave us a free dessert to share. Our waiter was terrific. He was very personable and knowledgeable. He was very honest about menu items and helped make our first visit special. The food was excellent including the Kingfish and Escargot.
The only complaint was the seating, which does not provide much privacy between tables and is distracting when people arrive and depart from tables. It also made it difficult to hear the wait staff at times."

"In Jacksonville for business, my colleagues and I found Orsay with Google. The food was quite good, the service impeccable, and the wine list extensive. The beers on tap were a good variety of styles, clearly reflecting the goal of finding perfect examples of each. One of the chefs/owners passed by during our meal to ensure our satisfaction, and we had no complaints.

"Wow! Went for my birthday and I must say, after years of traveling and having our favorite restaurants, this one ranks in the top! The roasted oysters were absolutely delicious. "I've dined at Orsay many times, about 8 times in the last year. I've only been there for Sunday Brunch, and this recent visit for Easter Sunday Brunch was no different. I especially enjoy the choice of raw oysters on the half shell which can be ordered individually with selections from four to five seperate types/locations for oysters. I had my usual four oysters as an app and the Duck Confit Hash. My wife had the Eggs A La Orsay and daughter Shrimp and Grits - all was outstanding as usual, including the service."

"Orsay has been one of our favorite dining spots since it opened. It rarely disappoints. Saturday night we took out-of-town guests who have eaten in fine restaurants around the world, and they raved about it. They especially liked the wine list and that night's special of duck with black truffles. We also appreciated being seated at a relatively quiet table, as I had requested. And we appreciated our server's being helpful but not intrusive.
One change I would request of the chef is that he use only grass fed, organic beef. I would like to try the boeuf Bourguignon and filet mignon, but since they are not grass fed, I have to order the hamburger when I'm in the mood for beef."

"Our theater party dined at Orsay as a special treat for my 13 year old granddaughter who also attended the symphony. This time, our food was absolutely spectacular. I had a pork shank that was just divine. My granddaughter's chicken and stuffing dish was heavenly. The fish with asparagus that another diner enjoyed was beautiful and wonderfully tasty. "On our previous visit to Orsay a neighborhood power failure limited what we could order from the menu and the dining experience was disappointing. This visit was not in the least disappointing! Our server Jarvis took care of us from beginning to end. He was friendly, competent, efficient, and not the least intrusive. My guest's trout and my cassoulet were both perfectly prepared and presented. Our choice of a Côtes du Rhône red wine by the glass was exactly what we wanted. Our server checked on us through the meal and brought the dessert menu at the right time. Dessert was quite good and together with coffee ended the meal on the right note. Conversation had to be loud to overcome the loud music, the only negative to the evening."

"Restaurant Orsay was a welcome find in jax..recommended by a previous employee we were pleasantly surprised with pretty much everything...from beginning to end the dining experience was incredibly enjoyable. Service was superb, food was like reviews said,

"Great food and service. It was a full house and we sat next to a group of 18. it was too noisy to talk and We had a tiny table. Unfortunately, we were celebrating our anniversary, so that particular venue wasn't the best place to have a romantic dinner. We'll definitely come back, but maybe during the week and not a Saturday night."

"I've always visited Orsay for dinner but never for brunch. Their brunch menu did not disappoint. Lots of breakfast options paired with cocktails such as bloody marys and mimosas. My friend and I had the duck confit hash and quiche of the day with mushrooms, goat cheese, and bacon. Everything was delicious! Service was on-point as usual."

"Had heard so many nice things about this place and had a so-so experience. We had a very early reservation. We were in the non-white table cloth dining room, right next to the hostess stand and the entire restaurant was open when we arrived. We should have asked to change our table but didn't want to cause a fuss. Food was so so. Maybe I had too high of expectations."
