"This was my second time at Sushi Sasa. We sat at the sushi bar and I really enjoyed watching the sushi chefs in action. I made a reservation and we were promptly seated and given our choice of table. The food was great but the service could have been better. The waitress was very attentive but as soon as the restaurant filled and got busy our waitress was nowhere to be found. We sat with our empty plates for over 20 minutes. By the end of our evening we ended up with a waiter that was far more attentive and friendly."

"We've been to several sushi restaurants in Denver, but my entire group was unanimously in agreement that Sushi Sasa served up the best sushi we've ever had. Wayne's mix of ingredients in his rolls and the delicacies of the combinations were unforgettable. The fried spinach salad was amazing! The timing, the presentation, and the ambiance for a special occasion (birthday, Mother's Day, relatives in town) was perfect. And last but not least Alison, our server, was outstanding!"

"Wife and I had dinner there on Friday, May 10, 2013. Didn't have traditional sushi. Plates chosen were goma ae, fois gras, and crab stuffed salmon. Deserts were chocolate moose cake and deep fried cheesecake. WOW...all were superb. Overall, it was one of the best meals we've ever eaten. Rarely do I find a restaurant that can create a dish that is better than I can make myself. Sushi Sasa is one of those rarities. Each item was not only delicious, each was served with an inspiring presentation. Servers were welcoming and attentive and quick to respond to any requests we made. We highly recommend Sushi Sasa for a great dining experience."

"Wayne and his staff understand food and the overall dining experience. We had the Omakase (leave the choice to the chef) and every course from foie gras, uni, caviar toasted brioche to marinated Spanish oh toro was beautifully presented, delicately balanced and a festival for the palate. Service was spot on with a very informed staff who are friendly and attentive. If I could afford it I would eat this way twice a week."

"Delicious sushi! We sat at the bar and watched the chef's making rolls, and these guys are good, really good. No messy rolls or oversized bites. Their rolls looks as yummy as they taste. They had one of the best spicy tuna rolls I've had, and the Dragon Roll is a must try (don't let the strawberry scare you off, it's outstanding!). Great place for a date night."

"I guess I am a traditionalist when it comes to Sushi -not as thrilled with the fusion style stuff. Sashimi was not as fresh as I had last time I was there and the prices seemed much higher esp for the TINY dish we had that nobody raved about, but was good, just not that good for the price. The room we were in was loud, hard to hear each other talk over the two large groups that were there on either side of us."

"Normally I enjoy Sushi Sasa but I was really disappointed on this visit. Apparently a reservation isn't really a reservation, at least it wasn't last evening. I understand they have a busy restaurant but I didn't take all of the reservations. It seems like they take took too many reservations a d that compromises the experience. Once we were seated it took a long time for our server to take our order bring a bottle of wine and eventually our food, she even apologized by saying their most meticulous chef was preparing our sushi. Normally I enjoy this restaurant but I may have to get my sushi fix elsewhere."

"Absolutely wonderful! I took a friend who is very plain with sushi and ordered the spicy tuna roll and the Philadephia roll. I wasn't excited because they are very plan to me, however Sushi Sasa's rolls were amazing and I have never tasted a better roll! Tempura avocado was to die for and the unagi melted in my mouth! The molten cake for dessert was just okay but it was absolutely fabulous!"

"It's embarrassing to sing the praises of Sushi Sasa every time we've been there. But they are simply the best. Not just the best sushi restaurant in Denver, but the best restaurant. Period. Minimalist décor. Impeccable service. Discrete sake list. Excellent cocktails to start things off. I can't imagine a better setting for the arrival of their sumptuous sushi and sashimi; their delicate sauces. Pitch perfect."

"Cool layout and I like the the place, the staff was very good, attentive and friendly. But, they are really proud of their prices, sheesh. I had a few good things from the menu, but a couple of the rolls were mediocre at best."

"The miso soup was excellent. But the sushi was a big let down. While the presentation was nice, the sushi itself was mediocre. It was severely lacking in seasoning. The rice was plain, with no seasoning and the spicy tuna roll had no taste. Some of the vegetable dishes were very different but not exceptional. The service was very good as was the ambiance, but the bottom line is that you come for the food which was a big disappointment."

"Very disappointed with the "Chef Selection Omikase" dinner. $60 x 4 was ridiculous for the amount of food we received. When you go to a "Sushi restaurant",, you expect Sushi.
The 1st course was sashimi, and it ws excellent. The next course was french onion soup with fish in it, wierd, the 3rd course was 3 pieces of seared filet and a piece of cod fish (cooked), 4th course was 4 pieces of sushi..4 pieces, and then the 5th was dessert, which was very good. Does this sound like $60 worth of food? I think not. Will not return."

"We have been going to Sushi Sasa for quite sometime and have noted it as our special date night place. Great food and service has always been good... this past time our service was excellent and she was very geniune and attentive. (Alison I believe her name was)
It can be noisy due to the space layout, but it can also be part of the charm.

One thing I may add is that as many times as we have been (especially when we once lived around the area), the host/manager Joe I believe, never remembers us is is incredibly portentous and condescending every time I have called in. There was a time that I cancelled as his attitude didn't set well with me. Never that friendly when we arrive as well.

"Food and service was great. We were seated in lower level area which was claustrophobic and loud. There was a large group seated at one of the four tables down there that was so extremely loud and obnoxious that we had a hard time talking with our friends. If we go back, I will ask to be seated in their main dining area on the upper level."
