Welcome to Sotto Cinque; a character charm of eclectic décor - sultry red walls, exposed brick and dark furnishings, emulating rustic easiness. Our bar and dining room allow for a variety of dining options and get-togethers.
We invite you to an old style Italian dining experience, dotted with ivory sconce lighting and candles on the cloth-clad tables; where conversation, down to earth Italian comfort food, hand-selected mix of music lightly seeps in from the bar, and our service reigns supreme.

"There are many reasons I come back to this restaurant and one is because they know me well by now and it feels kinda like home. They recently changed their menu and I've noticed that some of the portions are smaller. Tonight it was too noisy and we had to raise our voices to hear each other from across the table. That's not great. Our waiter, who is new and who we had once before, always seems impatient even though he puts on a good facade. We're hoping we don't get him again."

"I guess so much has to do with who is serving you. Our waitor, seemingly new, was impatient and not knowledgeable about the menu. When asked questions, he did not offer to find out... we had to ask him to do that. It got frustrating and not like the usual outstanding service."

"I've ordered delivery from Sotto Cinque several times and it's always been good but this was my first time dining in the restaurant. The food was excellent and the service was good; my only complaint is that it was a little on the loud side (and I didn't like seeing the delivery guys constantly coming in and out through the dining room). Overall, I had a great meal and enjoyed this restaurant!"

"This is always a nice place for a decent and reasonable priced dinner. However, this night was such an awful night there. Waiters were so rushed, running into each other, dropping food, spilling water on me, and just bad all the way around. It could have been that our table was in the middle section and right behind the waiters post? I was holding on to my wine glass the entire time worried that it would be knocked over. Just a bad experience on this night."

"The service was slow. Since my boyfriend and I looked young (we are both 21) I feel like they thought we would be cheap and so they took forever getting the food out and taking our order and they barely checked on us. My food was delicious (shrimp scampi) but my boyfriend ordered filet mignon medium rare that came out super well done. He said it tasted like meatloaf not steak. He should have sent it back but we thought it would take another 30 min to get another one! Then the waiter kept asking us if we had already gotten our food as if we were trying to cheap them out of a second meal or worse, he was trying to rush us out."

"It was my fist experience here and enjoyed a very relaxing brunch with a friend. It was a quiet Saturday and the place was not filled, which, of course was more pleasurable due to the lack of noise. The food was very good and accurately prepared and we could linger and not be rushed in any way. Will eventually try this restaurant at other times."

"My husband and I have been dining at Sotto Cinque for over 10 years now. The food is traditional Italian restaurant food, my favorite Rigatoni Cinque. Sotto has managed to maintain extremely reasonable pricing in this crazy expensive world. The waiting staff is very attentive and friendly. The decor is cozy and romantic, but also lends to families earlier in the day - in my opinion."

"We are regulars at this restaurant and this experience will lessen our visits.
We waited a long time for waiter to take order. He brought me unsweetened ice tea when I asked for sweetened. He told us there was a charge of $1 for changing sauce to marina for each dish, and there was an additional charge for decafe cappachino for each guest.
When we ordered dessert the cake we were given was a sliver and our friends were given a normal size portion. We sent it back.

"I was looking for a decent Italian place in the UES and found it! The food was offered in large portions and was prepared according to any special requests asked. I went with my family who is often very picky about italian cuisine and they loved it. The decor was romantic and very intimate making it perfect for a date night. Best part was that some of the pasta options were under $9!"

"Great overall value. They were wonderful with my 4.5 year old daughter, considering it was not a place crawling with kids. They even made her a specially sized spaghetti portion, which was not on the menu. They had live music in the bar area, but it didn't come into the dining room, which one may or may not like.
