"My whole family went to Ruth Chris to celebrate Mother's Day. The meal was GREAT! TEveryone commented on how tender the filet mignon was and the taste was beyond comare.

"We love to celebrate special occassions at this Ruth's Chris (Pier 5). We always sit in booth in the bar area. It makes you feel less formal, yet still great food and service. Filet was, as always, top notch. I think I can get a decent steak at Outback, but then I return to Ruth's Chris and thought "what was I thinking". I am in heaven! Thanks for a wonderful dinner. My 12 year old loved the Kobe sliders; he was very impressed."

"I have been to other Ruth's Chris location before and was looking forward to our dinner because of the location adjacent to the Harbor East neighborhood. Overall, I would rate our experience as overwhelmingly average. Nothing special. The menu is boring. The ambience is that of a typical hotel restaurant. They have a sign in the lobby warning guests of the dress code, which you would expect to see in a cheesy nightclub, not a restaurant where dinner is easily $100 per person. Service was adequate, but hardly fine dining. They serve steaks on a 500 degree plate, so if you don’t eat it in 2 bites. your rare steak keeps cooking and quickly turns to medium. There are so many restaurants in this neighborhood that I will likely not return."

"It was our first time to Ruth Chris. Service was good, atmosphere was very nice and the steaks were excellent. My one complaint is our shock at the price of the lobster appetizer that was highly recommended by the server. It was a full lobster, steamed and split. I did not expect it to be a bargain, but the price of this "appetizer" was $107!!!!! I was very surprised that the server would not have mentioned this, and shame on us for not asking. Honestly, it put a little bit of a damper on the evening, because I felt we have been taken advantage of, but live and learn. I am not anxious to return anytime soon. Thanks"

"We had a group of 11 at your Pier 5 location on Friday, Feb. 1. The food was delicious but our service was extremely poor.
Our waiter, Craig S.... ignored the fact that my friend cut her finger on a staple on the bottom of her chair, followed by him trying to discourage us to eat from the restaurant week menu. He said “If you are hungry do not order from the restaurant week menu. The petit filet is not as large as on the regular menu and is only 6 ounces and when cooked will come out like this” as he holds his hand to show the size of a quarter. Felt like bait and switch. He forgot to ask us for drinks and we had to ask him... and was smug throughout the entire dinner. We didn't feel welcome during their Restaurant Week."

"Steaks are usually good! Be carefully when the top is seared and burned. Kindly request another steak, it's worth your time. Restaurant week is a hit or miss with price, you no longer get sides included so it still is pricy. Go with your mate, it's def. romantic..."

"We have been to Ruth's Chris many times before and we always have a wonderful experience. We went this time to Pier 5 for restaurant week. They had a set menu where you could choose from. I chose the salad and was rather disappointed. It seemed as if they had made a big batch, because the lettuce was really wilted and the apples were brown. Now, I understand it was restaurant week and they had a lot of traffic coming through, but if it was me, I would not want to compromise the quality of food at my restaurant because of higher volumes of traffic. That's just my opinion. Everything else was wonderful."

"We dined during Baltimore Restaurant Week. The petit filet is usually around $38 by itself, so $30 per person for a 3 course meal is a great deal. We added additional appetizers, cocktails, bottles of wine, & sides, but I still thought our check ($100 per couple, excluding wine) was very resonable for the excellent food and service.
I believe our server's name was Dan, and he was superb. I remember specifically thinking that he timed our food and service perfectly. He was funny and personable without being intrusive. We had a birthday in our party, and a candle was served with dessert.
The food was outstanding as always! I always love the creamed spinach, and the beef carpaccio is some of the best I've ever had."

"This is the first time I've been to the Pier 5 Ruth Chris and I must say I really enjoyed myself. Our waiter was a gem and made sure we had everything. It was a very relax feeling all the way around. I had my 19 month old grandson and all the waiters would take the time to acknowledge him which I was really surprised. The food, especially the scallops were out of this world. Yum!!

"We were seated right behind the hostess station. The atmosphere was claustrophobic, not because it was busy, but because of the decor. Thick heavy red draping, low yellow lighting, and dark wood interior just made the place feel very depressing. The waiter was very fake and didn't seem like he was enjoying his night. He spoke in a "cheery" voice but the attitude just didn't reach his face. The steak was no better than outback, just served on their signature hot plate. The texture was horrible, I've definitely had better at Fogo, which is across the street. I also had their Louisiana Seafood Gumbo. If you're going to call something a gumbo, I want it to be thick and chunky. It was watered down and should have just been called a soup."
