"This is our third time @ Oceanaire and it was a great experience. Our server Felix has a great attention to detail that did not go unnoticed. The food is pricey, no doubt, but the quality is arguably the best in Boston. I would like to see a bit more attention put on the wine list. For a restaurant of this quality there should be a few more quality vintage Burgundy, Bordeaux, California and Italian selections."

"I don’t eat seafood at all, but I went for a friend’s birthday and we had a great time. They even had personalized menus with the birthday girl's name on it. I had the chicken dish, but it was one of the best I ever had. The chicken was so moist and the mashed potatoes were delicious. My friends loved their dishes especially the stuffed shrimp and the crab cakes. The service was great and our waiter was very accommodating. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone, even the non seafood eaters such as myself."

"Walking in we were greeted by pleasant hostess. The restaurant was busy and it had a very nice atmosphere. Not uptight. Dinner started with appretizers and salmon ala crab shrimp scampi to die for with baked Alaska for dessert. Everything was fresh hot and perfect! Our waiter was very happy it made our dinner experience very pleasant and relaxing. No rushing and answered any question. Loved it our New favorite place to Dine."

"For the prices at this place I Was expecting more from the food or service. The service wasn't bad but wasn't anything remarkable either and we were there during a very quiet time. The salmon was overcooked, the other dishes were good but rather uninspiring. The oysters were very good though."

"Food was great, service was attentive, but discombobulated. Wine came halfway through dinner (after multiple reminders) and was left to warm on the table rather than being placed in a bucket. One of our sides was brought as we completed our entrees. While our servers were very pleasant, the inconsistency of the service provided was a big distraction."

"The olive plate was disappointing and we asked our server for bread before our drinks, and none came until we reminded him after our entrees were finished. The waters were empty for the duration of our meals. Our asparagus was cut low, and raw on the bottom 1". The food is overpriced and offerred nothing that local fare couldn't provide. Consulted the manager, Russell, who we made eye contact with several times before we had to resort to approaching directly to explain our disappointment with their service. He offered us a measly coupon for our next visit, promising a free calamari with the purchase of an overpriced entree (approx. $40), then berated the server. We won't be back, not even for a free meal, let alone a free appetizer."

"My husband and I went with our grown kids for my birthday. I read some reviews, mixed, but decided to try it anyway. We were NOT disappointed. I would go back and will. The service was excellent and the food as well. There are many choices of how you can get your choice of fish cooked, topped and seasoned. I had the Bay of Fundy Salmon grilled done 'Black &Blue', which is very slightly cajun with blue cheese crumb topping. It was the 'best' salmon I've ever had. My son got steak and said it was Excellant. The desserts were also quite good. It is in an old very large bank in Boston and the spaciousness is wonderful with a large grand room feel. Great bar as well. Don't hesitate to go. The price is not bad for such quality!"

"We were seated in the lounge section, which was short staffed. Our waiter had to tend bar for the restaurant as well as the bar area and wait on us. We waited extremely long times to someone to take our order, get drinks, we were not served bread. When we asked for bread, another waiter brought it saying you asked for more bread. We were almost done with our meal at the time the bread was served. Granted it was a busy weekend, but people seated outside of the lounge section had better service--we did not ask for lounge seating. People who came without reservations received better seating than us. On a good note, we chatted with our waiter, who was good natured and friendly even under duress. Food was good."

"I've been to Oceanaire several times and had good experiences. This time, I was seated at the far back of the restaurant (completely unnecessarily) and ignored for most of the time. The waiter almost never came by and had to practically be tackled in order for him to glance our way. I'm just grateful that I was with a friend and not a client. "It's great to go somewhere nice in downtown crossing, after all the burrito and falafel places. The waitress recommended the slightly revised Salade Nicoise, with a milder whiter tuna that was on special. It was delicious and I'd recommend it for as long as it's on the menu."

Realized later that the opposite side of the dining room had better seating options and a carpet which absorbed some of the noise.

"We have eaten at several Oceanaires arroun the country and have always found them to serve excellent seafood. This one was no exception. I had the stuffed shrimp and my wife had the fisherman's platter. The shrimp was perfectly cooked and had a wonderful flavor. The platter was a whole lot of food and again perfectly cooked. Neither of us could finish our meals as the portions were huge. We both had the Clam Chowder as a appetizer and it was equally excellent. Service was perfect, could not have been better."

"We were seated promptly. The appetizers were "ok". The salad was very wilted. The main course was the saving grace of our meal. The desserts were not what we expected. The key lime pie tasted more like a cheesecake. Our biggest complaint was the service. The table wasn't cleaned between courses, we waited too long to order and we were never asked if we wanted coffee or tea. Very disappointed."

"I brought several out of towners to the restuarant this week. I picked it because it was a quick walk from the Parker House. Everyone really enjoyed the seafood. The menu is so extensive it's almost overwhelming. There is something for everyone. Our waiter was excellent. He was informative and knew his wine."

"A small group of us enjoyed delicious meals during Restaurant Week at Oceanaire. We've been several times before and have always had great food and service. Even though it was extremely busy that night, this visit was exceptional. Our waiter, Jared, was funny and engaging, as well as helpful and knowledgeable. There's a nice bar to relax and enjoy some wine before dinner. The service there has been very slow the last couple of times. I still gave an outstanding rating because the food and dinner service more than make up for it!"

"The staff was all very friendly. My husband and I received a free Baked Alaska because it was our anniversary. The Shrimp Cocktail was delicious! "We had lunch at Oceanaire during restaurant week. The clam chowder and the trout were both excellent. My friend ordered a cheeseburger and shoestring french fries that were some serious business portion-wise. She said both were very tasty. Our waitress was a bit harried, but I think that may have been the result of a busier lunch rush than expected. We sat at a table, but the bar looked like a great place for after-work cocktails. I'll definitely visit the Oceanaire again."
