The Zinfandel Grille, Sacramento has been a local tradition for more than 20 years. Our upscale restaurant provides a unique dining experience while remaining comfortable and casual. The style of our food from our house-made pasta and wood-fired pizza to our grilled Kobe and rustic meatloaf pairs well with our array of Zinfandel wines. "My family took my mom to Zinfandel Grill for Mother's Day and she absolutely loved it. I researched different venues for Mom's Day and based on price and reviews, I picked Zinfandel. I wasn't disappointed. They treated my family great, the food was awesome and the restaurant had a nice cozy atmosphere to it. We will be coming back."

"What could have been a dining experience from H---, was from Heaven! I hate "Special Days" in restaurants, expect so-so food, fair to non-existent service, plus long waits and more ambient noise than a airport runway! None of this was experienced on Mother's Day! We did experience wonderful food, wonderful service, relative quiet, and an experience you could only hope for, but never get!
We had ample portions of food, nicely plated, and wonderfully served. My Prime Rib dinner was exceptional not only in size but flavor and tenderness. My wife's Kobe Steak and Mushrooms was exquisite in tenderness and taste. Desert was a shared Creme Brûlée, so rich it could only be shared! I recommend the Zinfandel Grille of Sacramento to all my friends!"

"We made the mistake of making resevations here for Christmas Eve. The service was terrible. The food was mediocre and the ambiance on Christmas Eve was horrendous.While we were eating they were breaking down tables and cleaning up and generally the atmoshpere was liking having dinner in a train station. When I asked the waitress if they could wait until dinner service was over to do their maintenance and clean up she shrugged. We will not return. EVER!!!"

"Last year this place felt slightly more toward the cafe end of the restaurant scale. Now it's a mature restaurant. Enjoyed the band playing unobtrusively in the corner. Scallops were perfectly cooked, teriyaki sauce did not overwhelm the salmon, lamb pappardelle came with a nicely balanced sauce. Service was pleasant though timed more for Europeans than for Americans."

"My husband and I are regulars at Zinfandel Grill, and we even have a favorite server. This time, we had a young woman I don't think I'd seen before, and she wasn't exactly "customer friendly". She made me feel as though we were in her way or she just didn't really want to be bothered. She tried to cover it, but I felt it. Normally, we love this place. We'll come back, but I don't want her as a server. We had to send a few things back to have them prepared as requested - entree (way to much garlic that she never mentioned when we asked about the special), appetizer (missing some items), and dessert (cold, supposed to be served warm with ice cream).
On a positive note, the bananas foster bread pudding is fabulous!"

"Made a reservation for two to celebrate my girlfriends birthday. This has become a yearly tradition and so far I have never been anything but impressed. Everything on the menu is high end but still very reasonably priced! We had an appetizer, starter salad, entrees, dessert, and multiple cocktails/glasses of wine.. All for $100.
We were seated immediately when we walked through the door, the staff is awesome all the way around. The hostess was friendly, the server assistant very attentive to refilling beverages and bread. Our server was professional, energetic, very knowledgable and made great recommendations on the menu leaving us feeling great about the whole evening. We were even thanked by the management staff at the front door."

"Reservations highly recommended. My somewhat large party was seated immediately in front of a huge line of people waiting for brunch Easter morning. Food was very good. The salad with walnuts and bleu cheese, the peel & eat shrimp, the salmon and the carnitas were all excellent, and the rest very good. Service was very attentive despite the huge crowd. Will definitely be back next year and planning to check it out on a normal day, too."

And place Crab Lasagna on the menu once in a while, plus country rabbit (not around Easter of course). these items were on the menu once upon a time, and were great. The food was excellent and did not disappoint. we had the Scallops, Ahi Tuna, Lamb Shank which was falling off the bone.
I made a special request regarding my meal and it was delivered as requested so any special orders are verified with the kitchen and then delivered as requested so there is no disappointment.
I highly recommend this place for special occasions and if possible happy hour on the weekends between 4:30 and 6:30 P.M."

"It was our Wedding anniversary...the girl who took our bar order got it wrong we asked for calamari and got crab cakes and then we were charged for her mistake! We couldn't hear the singer very well from where we sat in the dining room and all the food we received was over cooked and all the food we saw go to other tables were overcooked as well. My husband ordered the Filet Med. and it came well. and my pork chop was close to being shoe leather. the somebody had a vanilla bean in the room when they made the creme brulee but you couldn't convince us of that...I like to see the bean seeds in my brulee to prove they didn't just use extract."

"Two friends took me to lunch for my birthday--my second time at Z Grille in the week! all was fine, except. . .we got the same young man as a server that another friend and I had on Monday, when service was again not up to par.

"Valentine’s dinner out at a nice restaurant should not include big TV’s in the middle of the dining rooms. Ever. Not exactly setting the right atmosphere… Now for the food: the filet and the sides were good but the shrimp were ridiculously over seasoned to the point of being inedible. 1 out of the 3 shrimp was seasoned well so I know it was not just my taste. The prime rib was mediocre. For the price it should have been excellent. The wait staff was slammed with the croud. Lots of people standing in line that did not seem to have V-Day reservations so the fact that they could not be completely attentive is understandable."

"Good tasting and well prepared food, quality could not be beat. Overall a little pricey for my wallet. Started with the Braised Beef Rib Appetizer and it was cooked to perfection, Had the Crab and Avocado Salad very good and light but if you are hungry it won't fill. Also Had the Shrimp Salad it was also very good but I've had similar salads elsewhere for much less."
