The Milwaukee ChopHouse began its critical acclaim six years ago. From the beginning it has earned a reputation for providing a spectacular wine list, a consistent classic menu, all while being delivered by some of the best service professionals the city has to offer. Our cellar is extensive and well thought through. With a list that was honored by The Wine Spectator with the Award of Excellence, how can one not find the perfect choice? The menu is a reflection of its classic steakhouse atmosphere. Some of the best steaks and chops are served along side the freshest seasonal seafood. Located in the heart of downtown, the Milwaukee ChopHouse is within walking distance of the theater district, sports venues, shopping and the lakefront.
"I saw pretty good review about this place so we wanted to try it out for our anniversary. We liked our main courses; Chophouse salad was a disappointment to me. The place was a little noisy. Food was a little slow. Service was not as expected; lady asked us whether to have more bread but we already finished our meal. With the price we paid we sure expect more from this experience."

"Great place that never disappoints. GM Hutch is always spot on, knows his guests, and mixes up the menu as needed. Get the dry aged KC cut steak (bone-in strip)."

"Food: Calamari was amazing. Chicken was dry, and my bone in prime rib was very fatty. Overall, for two our bill after 1 appetizer, 2 dinner entrees, one drink, and one dessert was $140.
Service was good. We had a main server, and the others would refill our bread and water as they walked by.
Ambiance/noise: I took my wife out for what was supposed to be a quiet romantic meal. The dining room in which we were seated was smaller, and a large group that was seated across the room made it impossible to talk across my table due to their conversing.
Overall: Decent place, but for what we got vs. what I spent, there are many other places to go in Milwaukee that can give you more bang for your buck."

"The food was really excellent! The waitress was very nice and helped me decide which wine to order. The service was very prompt but not over attentive. The atmosphere was very romantic! I would come back again for special occasions."

"Very nice upscale traditional steakhouse located in downtown Milwaukee. The ambience is sedate and the menu is primarily on the meaty side as the name Chophouse suggests. A bit on the pricey side. Would recommend for a special occasion or business lunch or dinner. The service was wonderful. Parking is free or valet. The quality of the food served, filet and sides of asparagus spears, four-cheese twice baked potato and mushroom caps all very good. The Basil Tomatoe Garlic Soup left something to be desired. Desert was carrot cake and was of average quality All in all based upon other Steak Houses in the Greater Milwaukee Area, I would give it a "B+" rating."

"This is the second time to Milwaukee Chophouse. Both times the food was outstanding. Great trios of delicious sides for $18 added to our scrumptious filets. The Hilton Hotel is beautiful and the restaurant also. The first time our service was excellent. We were celebrating a birthday and the whole staff made things very special for my friend. The second time we had a waiter that was not as friendly or attentive but it is a wonderful place for dinner."

"This was our first visit and we were very impressed. Yoko offered us fantastic service and made my wife's birthday memorable. We will definitely be back. The food was fantastic. The differing tastes of the bread toppers were amazing and unique. And the steak was done to perfection. BRAVO!"

"My husband and I had a wonderful dinner at the Chophouse. The steaks were excellent, the scallops were very good, the cheescake was great, and the loaded baked potatoe was good (but not very loaded in our opinion). Our server Sarah was very attentive, helpful, happy, and a great waitress overall, and the manager was constantly walking around making sure the food was good and that we didn't need anything. I can't comment on the wine since we don't drink wine, but everything else was well worth the money."

"Typical clip joint. Way over-priced mediocre food. The calamari appetizer was greasy and batter fried as if it came from Long John Silver. The NY strip steak was good but the grilled tuna was awful and very small portion considering they charge $30. The asparagus side dish was too buttery and overcooked. The wine was also way overpriced, $12 a glass!!! The raspberry sorbet was good and a decent size portion. Now you might expect to pay extravagant prices if the ambiance is nice but it was FREEZING COLD in there. Instead of having the heat on in February, it felt like they had the AC on. Very uncomfortable to eat with cold air blowing on your head the whole time. Other tables complained too."

"I found myself comparing the Chophouse to Capital Grill the entire night; not to The Chophouse's benefit. The steak was wonderful but the sides were so ordinary and bland. The ceasar salad presentation was not the way the restaurant should start if they want to give a good impression. The entrees themself had no presentation. For the prices charged,I would have thought the plates could have been "dressed" with some style. The Chophouse needs some imagination with the sides, some flare with plate presentation and some spice. If I hadnt had bleu cheese and butter added to my steak, Im not sure that would have been good either. I wont be back and I wont reccommend.I will go back to Bosleys or to Capital grill;both comprable in price."

"I felt rushed with my order, our waiter wanted to take our drink, appetizer and entree orders all immediately after we were seated. I informed he I was ready to order drinks, but hasn't had time to look over the menu. When I was ready with our appetizer order he asked what we would like for the main course, again I told him I wasn't ready, ats when he said he would come back since he wanted to take those order together. He recommended short ribs, for me (which weren't all that tasty) and my wife ordered a steak; which was fantastic. I ran out of coffee and bad to flag our waiter down to order another French press, which I felt was rather annoying.
All-in-all, I can't say I would consider referring anyone to the chop house."

"The Chop House is located in the downtown Milwaukee Hilton. It is high end with prices to match. The wine selection was good and we were able to try a few before making a decision. The waitstaff is very good, but wish the bread person would have brought more than one piece per person. There were great dipping oils, butters, etc. but we couldn't try them all--out of bread. Dinner can be charged to your room if you're staying in the hotel. The steak I had was very good and very expensive. Twice baked potato was huge and delicious--and an add on ($7, I believe)."

"The first thing I'm goning to mention here is the price of the food. My wife and I dropped the most money we ever have for a fine dining meal for the two of us. That being said, the food was exceptionally delicious and well worth the cost. We both couldn't stop telling each other just how good everything tasted. Even the lettuce in the salad tasted really good! No kidding! The cost of the meal will be a bit prohibative for us, but this is definitly a case of getting what you pay for, and for us the meal was well worth the money. Very satisfied."

"I have always had a great experience at the Chophouse. Definitely worth every penny! Even if you are not a steak eater (as I am not) the seafood and side dishes are plenty so that my significant other (who is a major steak eater) and I can enjoy a nice quite evening eating out and both enjoying our meals!"

"We had a gift card for the Chophouse so we decided to have a nice anniversary dinner there. The dining area was not very crowded for a Friday night in my opinion. The food was excellent, but a bit pricey. We both tried the signature chopped salad which was a good size for a starter dish. Then we had the bone-in rib eye and filet. Both cooked to a perfect medium and very tasty. We tried a trio of sides with creamed spinach, asparagus and the mashed potatoes. They were all very good and worth having again. The service was a bit slow for the place not being crowded. Overall, a good experience but I'm not sure I'd go back without a gift card. I've been to other steak houses in the area that are as good or better and a better value."

"Great food, very good service. The Chophouse was determined to ensure we had a great experience despite not having the prime rib (rare) or finding the Jordan Cab incorrectly priced on the menu. The manager and our waitress went out of their way to take care of us. Thank you!"
