Asia Nine's design draws inspiration from different Asian cultures. Jewel tones and rich woods envelop guests with a warm and exotic atmosphere. Elements of Thai, Japanese, Chinese, Indonesian, and Vietnamese including a full service sushi bar, bar & lounge.
"Close to Ford's theatre. Good varied menu. Our server was gracious. We even found a street parking space right in front of the restaurant. Special menu requests were accommodated."

"I had a party of 12 ladies. They were super accommodating, excellent service, great food and just a fun place to hang out. Not only did our group get great service but they remembered each gals order and gave separate checks with no errors. Great place! Will be back for sure!"

"it says something on a Friday night, when the restaurant isn't even crowded and you can get a table for 9. food was average and too creamy with sauces. we had to use a lot of hot sauce on everything for some spice."

"We've been to Asia Nine three times now. First time was excellent, second a little less so, and this last time was just okay. Our guests rated the food as "average Asian food," while my wife and I were more pleased. Ambiance and service were good, but not anything special."

"The food was very good, although I have had better, but the service was disappointing. The wait for drinks and food was long. The server did not explain that the bar and kitchen were backed up until she finally brought the food. My companion couldn't finish her meal asked to take home two shrimp and the server dropped one of them and asked "It's OK?". We thought we misunderstood, but she again asked "It's OK?" When hoped she would replace the shrimp she dropped but there was only one in the box. After removing our dinner plates we did not see her for a long time, so I went to get dessert menus from the front desk. There was no one there, so I had to find them myself."

"Chose this location due to its proxitimy to our theatre and promotion of a pre-theater prix five meal. Once in the restaurant we were discouraged from the prix fixe meal and told there was only one "special" menu for the whole restaurant and it was being used by another table.
Since all of the other specials were Happy Hour related, we moved to the bar and ate there. The restaurant appears to be pan-asian fusian, pulling from various countries. However, none of the items are true to their country's typical preparations. Decided to do with sushi, which was good, but not great. Will probably not return."

"Had a great time for my wife's birthday with 14 of our closest friends. They easily accommodated us and the waiter was excellent. Always available, didn't forget anything and very friendly. Everyone in our group raved about their dishes and enjoyed trying food and drinks (sake) they don't normally eat. Overall, a great experience."

"Went for Valentine's Day. Their fixed-price option was pretty good: $80 for appetizer, two cocktails, two entrees and a shared dessert. the ambiance was disappointing though - they crammed as many two-person tables into the space that they could. We could hear the conversations of the diners around us and didn't feel that we could have a private conversation. Kinda a downer for a romantic evening. Food was pretty good though."

"Had a Valentine's dinner - staff was friendly and almost overly attentive, but seemed confused as to which waiter was actually supposed to be taking care of us. Seafood was fresh and delicious. Largest sake menu I've seen in DC. Other diners in groups and children made it very noisy."

"Good choice in Penn Quarter. Of the Asian choices in the area the best combination of a wide variety of pan Asian menu choices, food quality and price."

"Visited Asia Nine for the first time prior to the Chinese New Year parade. Wonderfully prepared dishes, creatively presented. It was an excellent preparation for the celebration that followed!"

"Asia Nine has recently changed their menu since my last dine---I did not like their new menu at all. The actual menu itself looks cheap compared to the previous menu, and the quality of the food has gone downhill too, it was not a welcomed change since my last visit."

"This is one of my favorite places to eat. Asia Nine makes the best futomaki in the area bar none! It was more crowded than usual due to it being restaurant week and a Caps game was scheduled for that night but the service was still gracious and efficient."

"Asia Nine did not disappoint again. My friend and I were on our way to the Capitals game and we were treated with excellent food and very good responsive service staff. The DC Restaurant week was on so we got the Prix Fixe menu for $35.13 but it wasn't worth it, so we ordered from the menu. Good fresh Sushi and Sashimi.. can't go wrong there. I have never had their Thai menu, just had sushi, but I am sure they are just as good."

"The best overall Asian fusion restaurant we have experienced anywhere. Great food, service and decor. The Hong Kong style dumplings were as good as what we tasted in Hong Kong last year! We will definitely go there again."

"Basically just an ok asian restaurant. Food was luke warm when served. Cheese cake desert, which was the special and part of price-fixed menu, was frozen. I called ahead to let them know we were celebrating a birthday and was told they would deliver a slice of cake, but that never happened. This isn't on my list of places to go back to."

"Unfortunately my third time at this place left me with the same impression as before: mediocre food and service. Lunch was busy and it was difficult to get the waiter's attention. I ordered Pad Thai with shrimp but it came with dried out chicken instead. Had to request extra lime slices two times. The dish completely lacked the delightful sour taste it should have. One colleague ordered vegetarian Pad Thai and he only had a few bites. I had really been hoping this would be a decent, upscale Asian restaurant as metro center has precious few. What a disappointment."
