In February 2008, Fine Dining Restaurant Group, of Rendezvous Bistro & Q Roadhouse fame, brought a taste of Italy to Jackson Hole with the opening of Il Villaggio Osteria. Located inside the Hotel Terra which is the state’s first LEED certified property and only the fifth in the United States. Highlights of the intimate restaurant are Il Villagio Osteria’s 12-seat wine bar and eight seat salami bar, where guests can watch as imported meats and cheeses, sourced from the country’s finest purveyors, are hand-sliced to order. House made pastas, sausage stuffed olives, beautiful wines and entrees round out the exquisite multi course menu.
"Three of us locals drove out to the Village for a treat. Villagio Osteria was having a two-fer so we thought we could afford it. My husband ordered the lamb shank. This had a crusty exterior due to deep frying. He was dubious but declared it to be delicious upon first bite. Tender, just pink meat with the interestingly spiced crust. I had the lasagna, as did our friend. Admittedly, the best strategy for a two-fer is to have all prices equal. In calculating the check, then, one of our lasagnas was free. But that was OK as we really liked the lasagna. All in all, a fun evening."

"We consider this one of our favorites in all of the Jackson Hole Valley. You will enjoy a visit there. Be sure to make reservations or you will have a long wait. My favorite meal is the Elk Ragu Pappardelle. Have it with a super Tuscan!"

"I've been to Osteria probably 25 times but with much less frequency over the last 18 months because I haven't been happy with the overall experience. The prices have risen steadily and the portions have shrunk. Nothing on the menu really appealed to me on this last visit but I got an antipasti(cauliflower with pancetta I think) and it was basically a 1/4 cup(if that) of food spread out on a small plate and it was very dry. We also got a clam appetizer for my main dish and it was terrible. About half of the shells were empty. I got some red wine by the glass and the pour was so scant that my 18 year daughter asked "Is that all they give you?" and I couldn't have agreed more. Our bill was $80 after tip and I felt like we got so little for it."

"Our family had dinner and lunch at Il Villagio Osteria twice on our 5 day trip to Teton Village. Both meals were delicious, service was friendly and helpful. The bartender was especially helpful in helping us decide which pizzas we should order - fun bar scene during March Madness. We will be back."

"Always a favorite of mine in JH, we were looking forward to a repeat visit albeit on a busy Saturday night. Food was wonderful, atmosphere great, but my only complaint was being rushed through dinner. We had a reservation at 7:15 and by 8:05 we were completely finished after ordering appetizers, entrée and dessert. I don't want to linger forever at a table and am completely sympathetic for table turnaround; however, I felt rushed and unable to truly enjoy my meal. I appreciate prompt service, but we were celebrating an occasion and were saddened that it went by too quickly."

"This has always been our favorite restaurant in Jackson Hole. We love the bread, the atmosphere, and usually the food. This time, though, the food was not as great as usual....mostly oversalted (winter green salad, pork tenderloin marsala). The pappderdelle with elk was very good."

"There's so much good dining in Jackson it's hard to find a poor or even mediocre meal. However, Villagio Osteria ranks up there as on of the best in town; or at least Teton Village. Try the JLT, if it's still on the menu. Pork jowl, oven roasted tomatoes and kale, and a sous vide egg on toasted Tuscan bread. Omg! Also terrific and terrifically tender baby octopus. Serious, everything we had was divine!"

"We visited this restaurant twice during a 1 week vacation. On the first visit, we had Papardella with Elk, Fregola salad, Spring vegetable spaghetti and the Ravioli --which was amazing and drew us back for our next visit. The service was exceptional both times-- attentive and friendly. Our waiter was "spot on" pairing wines and beers with our meal. Over all the menu was a refreshing change from the "meat heavy" menus popular at other Teton Village and Jackson Hole restaurants. The general vibe of the restaurant was upbeat and lively without being overbearingly rowdy. The portions were large enough to bring leftovers back to the condo for lunch the next day, making the value amazing."

"All the food was well prepared and presented. The prize to quality/quantity/location ratio was excellent. However, we felt that all the customers, us included, were rushed. Salads, appetizers appeared so quickly that it was hard to settle in and enjoy a bit of bread with the first sips of wine. It is a relatively small place and it appears they allow about 1.25 hrs. per dinner table. Turn-over, turn-over."

"The food was very good and the service excellent. It was a tad noisy but because of the patrons next to us were loud. The wine list was extensive. We would definitely eat there again next time we are in Jackson Hole."

"The menu is borderline pretentious. I almost feel like they are trying a bit too hard to worked wild game into everything. There were two (not one but two) items featuring hedgehog."

"This restaurant gets a rating of 1 star not for the quality of the food but for the selection. It is a good choice for foodies, but not if you want something simple. Even the Caesar salad is only available with kale."

"So good we went back twice. Food has always been good there and expected that - but the service matched as well and made us come back for a second evening and sat at the pizza bar and ordered a pie."

"I spent 4 days in Teton Village and ate at Osteria 3 times. Everything I had was incredible. Tried 3-4 different types of their pizza, some of the best thin crust I have ever eaten and I've spent lots of time in New York and Italy. Also tried the chicken parm, lasagna, and spaghetti. Good selection of wine and beers and they have a great happy hour special on beers apres ski. Dinners can get crowded so we ate at Osteria during the lunch break from skiing."

"Why in the world do you have to leave a phone number if the restaurant isn't going to use it prior to giving away your table? We were late (our fault), but would have appreciated a phone call before our table was released and therefore our evening significantly altered."

"Our waiter seemed rushed through the whole dinner and we were rushed out at the end of the meal....too obvious that they were trying to turn the table. Overall, this restaurant did not live up to the hype. No better than many others: no better food, decor, or service."

"Wonderful as usual!! It wasn't that crowded since it was Super Bowl Sunday, but we had the same great food and service as we've always had. They cater to kids and our daughter always has a great time there. Thank you Osteria!"
