"Had a great time, took my wife and kids here for her birthday. The menu had interesting twists on Southwestern fair, and everyone was happy with their choices, even my vegetarian daughter. The tequila menu is awe inspiring and the margaritas were great, though the unusual twists on a margarita (like the spicy blood orange) were much better than the classic, which was ordinary."

"A group of friends and I had a wonderful dinner at Geronimo's on a recent Saturday night. We were a party of 8 and easily accommodated by the large restaurant in a lovely table by a back window. Our server was fantastic and the food was delivered at a perfect pace. Despite the restaurant being busy, we did not feel rushed. The tableside guacamole, tamales and fry bread were the biggest hits, but really everything we ordered was great. We finished the meal with several flights of tequila which was a lot of fun! Overall, a very good dining experience."

"Truly wonderful birthday evening for all of us! We had a total of 12 people and the restaurant gave us a long family-style table which was a great accomodation, but.... th service was slow. Although our food came out in a decent amount of time, we had to keep flagging down the waitress every time we needed a drink, or wanted to order any part of our meal. She rarely came back to check on us. I understand it wa a Saturday night in a busy restaurant, but we got a table and made reservations for the purpose of not hving to wait by the bar for drink orders, etc."

"This is a great place for drinks. They have really good cocktails, use lots of inventive ingredients in them, and have a wide selection of tequillas that they use creatively. The food is decent, with the guacamole being a highlight of the menu. Would be best for snacks and drinks. Regular menu is a bit overpriced for the somewhat uninspired flavor of the food. They use high quality ingredients and have a consistent latin-southwestern theme to the menu overall, but execution leaves something to be desired in the dining department.
Overall, recommend for anyone looking for a place to meet a group of people or for a date due to their excellent drink variety, unique cocktails, and energetic environment."

"Came for 'dinning out for life.' I ate at the bar and the bartender was not particularly attentive or friendly. I am not a big fan of southwester food....so it is not fair for me to critique the food!
Nice atmosphere...I think late at night in the summer would be lovely."

"Stopped by prior to attending Les Mis at the Schubert. It was warm enough to sit on the patio. Started with chips, dip and margerita's. Took our time, ordered dinner, relaxed - perfect. Service was friendly and attentive. Then saw a great show!"

"Festive atmosphere and great fun. Best margaritas I've had in a long time. Really good guacamole, and a generous portion, too. All around, a good time. We'll return soon."

"We had a great time at Geronimo. The tequila selection was something to see! Our server was awesome and really knew her stuff. The tuna taco was not what we expected but it was delicious. Junkyard frybread-YUM! We will definitely return with friends."

"I like Geronimo, but the mole didn't taste like mole at all. The margaritas were too sour. And the sweet potato fries were much too greasy. Great service and atmosphere, but mediocre food."

"Took the family for dinner before a show at the Shubert. Our server was great. She took the time to explain the menu and suggested something's the kids would like. We had the table side guacamole which was super fresh and flavorful. The entrees were all very good. We will be back (without the kids) to sample the margaritas."

"Food was good and some dishes were very good. Disappointed that they no longer made the guacamole dip tableside. The service was very good. The drinks were good, also. The noise level is deafening by 9:00p.m. The ambience and decor of the restaurant was charming. It's more of a "scene " place than for diners over 50."

"In an area that's full of great places to eat, Geronimo stands out. The ambience is lively, the food is terrific, and the tableside guacamole never fails to be a delight. It's become one of my favorite places in New Haven.."

"Definitely not a place for dinner, drinks and nibbles maybe.... The music was way too loud and it was not comfortable for real dining. We had reservations for dinner and got seated on stools in the bar area - for Valentine's Day? really? I had the tamales and they were very mediocre - one was so dry and overcooked I had to send it back. I grew up in the southwest and the spicy popcorn was even too hot for me. The outdoor deck looks promising for a drink on a summer evening (if you have in mind a $9 to $75 margarita) - which if I were to go again - is what I would limit it to."

"I made the mistake of ordering the crab quesadilla- at $17 was a disappointment. Bland and tiny- and I usually don't even finish a regular dinner. Guys had the pork burritos- ver good. The other gal had the portobello burrito and she said it was just "ok". But the prices are fair and we would go again and maybe try more traditional Tex-Mex fare."

"It took more than 15 minutes being seated before I could even get a waiter to take an order. Beyond that, however, the food was great. Margaritas good, but at $9 and not large, overpriced."

"I have been to Geronimo's before and loved it. We decided to take our two kids there for my daughter's 15th birthday. Had the table right next to the gas fireplace which was great on a freezing cold winter night. We got the tableside guacamole which I had before and it was AWESOME. Best you will have and well worth the price. Honestly a couple of those and some drinks would be great in itself. Our food was excellent with one major drawback which unfortunately dampened our night. We got 4 burrito's - two chicken / two pork. The pork burrito's were smothered in extremely HOT sauce (inside too but not as bad). We don't mind spicy, but this was way too much. Some people love spicy food, but either the menu or waiter should mention this."
