"Our experience was excellent--good food and good service. However, they forgot to check us in with Open Table when we arrive and they later disputed our points. I provided the receipt and it was cleared up but I would rather that they were more diligent because I was made to feel a little defensive. We WILL return though!"

"Took my wife here for Mother's Day. Oysters were good and I recommend them. Main dishes are unusually small and really not worth the price they are commanding ($25 for a combo dish of scallops, shrimp and salmon with the food being the size of a fist? Get real). I've been to fine French restaurants eg. Daniels in NY that offered more. I will say that the taste was on point. Would I go again? Maybe. But it will only be for their oysters and an ipa at the bar.
Service was extraordinarily slow. The restaurant only had about 25 patrons."

"Went on Mother's Day. Was a little early for our reservation but they found us a table right away. There were special menu items to honor mom, not to mention Sunday brunch, and regular menu. Ordered drinks they were great. Ordered calamari, mussels, and little neck clams. Sent the clams back because they weren't done very well (sandy and a few unopened) they apologized and replaced our order in no time flat. I've had calamari at most places in West Chester and Docs is without a doubt the best. Everyone ordered a different entrée, catch of the day was a little expensive for the portion but all of the food was delicious. Everyone went home satisfied. The service was great, everyone was nice, food was great, overall it was a great time."

"We brought my brother and his wife to taste some baked oysters, but alas, no "doc a feller" oysters. They were my first oysters and I was convinced my brother would also eat an oyster if he could only taste those. I also wanted them to try the crab cakes, but they ordered fresh fish. Win some. lose some. Altogether a good night."

"We are regulars at Doc's. Usually go for the raw oysters, and then enjoy something fabulous from the menu; but this time, we shared the mussels in white wine and garlic sauce - to die for!!! - and then each had a Classic Steamer Pot! We loved the steamer pots from last summer, but all they've had on the menu is the lobster steamer pot. We asked if the steamer pot menu would be coming back, and our server said the whole steamer pot menu would be back for the summer, but the Classic is always available!!! We were thrilled to hear that, and even more thrilled with our Classic steamer pots!!! SO good!"

"I would like to thank Chris (the manager?) for accomidating our party when the woman up front would not (I'm assuming she was the manager of the hostesses). He was very nice, attentive and went above and beyond to find a table for us ( we had an additional two people deciding to join our party at the last minute for a total of 6 people), while the woman showed no effort in finding us a table. The restaurant was very clean with nice decor. The food was delicious and exceded my expectations that I had after reading the restaurant's bio. Andy was our sever and he too was also very nice, explicative of the menu, patient, and made sure we were well taken care of. If not for the woman up front, the dinning experience would have been flawless."

"We met some friends for a bite at Docs. The food was extremely slow getting to the table, but was very tasty. They were also out of Grey Goose and Ketel One Vodka early on Sunday night. I assume that at least those two should always be stocked. Since they've changed the menu, we have noticed things moving a LOT more slowly, and they are almost always out of something when we go, and that's at all times of the day. We'll still go, but perhaps more for a late lunch or mid-day snack."

"The lobster was very good. Since it was a hard shell and very full of meat,it should have been cracked before serving to facilitate dinning experience. The size of the corn was meager, plenty of potatoes but shellfish were excluded which were part of last years special. The oysters were very good as usual, but the breaded and fried shrimp appetizer was not good. Clearly we came for the lobster and it made our day."

"The food selection was great – we enjoyed one of our appetizers immensely and the other was good. Selection of fresh fish is outstanding. Our table was in a great location. Even though they were not overly crowded, our waiter was pulled in many directions."

"We visit Doc's in West Chester frequently. Our experience this past Friday night was not typical. We had reservations through open table, but the hostess couldn't seem to find them. We were seated right away-but in a very small table near the kitchen. The manager (or a woman who seemed to be a manager) was very easily heard talking negatively about particular customers. The food was good, not the best we've ever had there-but good. For the price we paid for our dinner/drinks, we expected much more from the atmosphere."

"Have been to Magrogan's numerous times, all good experiences. This time however, was a disappointment. I regularly drink Ketel One Vodka, but was told they didn't have any. We also requested horse radish for our oyster crackers and they didn't have that. Even though they had 2 managers on duty, no one thought to go to the store for horse radish or the liquor store for Ketel one. I was disappointed."

"Arrived 15 minutes before my reservation time. Was told we'd have to wait before a table was ready. On the way to the bar to wait, we passed 3 empty tables. After a 15 minute wait we were led to one of tbe 3 tables we passed earlier. Ordered a bowl of Maryland Crab Soup for appetizer. It was brought and the waitress promptly disappeared. Had to ask the hostess to get a spoon. The food was excellent but the service left a lot to be desired. That was unusual. My wife and I eat here often and the staff is usually very attentive."

Awesome!!! bring em on. First order shows up... delicious. Then the bad news... sorry we're all out of crabs. How do you run out of your special. The good news they cut the tab in half. "We dine at Doc's about once a month. Monday was the first time we tried their "Buck a Shuck" special. The special is advertised as every Monday from 4-10pm. We arrived at 6:00 pm. We knew we were not going to have a good experience from the moment my husband tried to order a beer. It took 4 attempts before he picked a beer that the bar did not run out of. These were basic domestic beers from taps and bottles. We finally ordered our oysters and crab soup. There was an impressive selection of oysters. When our soup arrived it was cold then they ran out of Oysters. So we left. Doc's has amazing food. However they are notorious for not restocking their bar. Cold food is NOT the norm there. Running out of Oysters is unacceptable."

"We have gone to docs often. It was our go to spot. They changed the menu, changed the service. It is not the same and we will not be going there again. I believe the Guinness I had on Sunday night was watered down. It was bad.. Don't even have ice cream for the kids. We have brought our grandchildren to docs often. No more."

"Before they changed the menu (and perhaps the Chef), I LOVED Docs. Now, not so much. Four of us dined there Saturday night and we struggled to choose apps and entrees. The calamari is still the same (good) but the fried oysters were more breading than necessary and the short ribs appetizer was nothing special. The only way I would return to Docs would be on a Monday night for the Buck a Shuck oysters."

"We had a very nice experience. The hostess were a bit unprofessional too much conversation with each other. It looked like there were three hostesses and lots of chatting but not enough seating. They claimed there was an 1.5 wait and turned away many people who did not have a reservation, but there seemed to be many empty seats. Our server was great, food was great... it was a great experience overall."

"New menu with great choices. The oysters, as usual, were excellent. We had a farm raised salmon that was quite tasty, unlike the usual farmed fish. It came with a lovely spring risotto. They now have those little desserts that come in small cups displayed on a paddle like thing. My s'mores dessert was just enough."

"We went on a Monday night to try their new menu. I thought it would be more like Harvest (which is a sister restaurant) but it was closer to their old menu. I really didn't see much of a difference. We were late for our 6:30 reservation and had to wait about 20 minutes, the service was ok. Soup came out without a spoon. Crab cakes always good. We don't go out of our way to go there, but it does give consistent good food."

"We went on a Friday night and made reservations for 8 PM but didn't end up getting seated until 8:30. The bar tenders were very nice and attentive and our waitress was awesome, but the food was overpriced and the portions were small. We started out with the lobster Mac and cheese and there was only two small chunks of lobster in it. The Mac and cheese itself was average, kind if bland and a very small portion. We also ordered 10 of the naked cowboy oysters which were amazing. I got the lobster ravioli for an entree and it was fabulous- perfect portion for me and delicious. My boyfriend got the lobster roll and it was more like a cold sandwich. The lobster was cold and the serving size was a bit underwhelming."
