"The experience was lovely as usual. We go there as often as possible. The seating being private is a big reason and how every course is spaced out we never feel rushed like in other restaurants. Only thing negative about our experience was the waiter came to our table once chewing food. It wasn't a big deal but was slightly off putting because in a restaurant you don't know if they are eating someone's food or not. As well as having to wait for them to finish chewing so they can speak. But overall we enjoy your restaurant."

"This was my first experience with a fondue restaurant and being that I like to cook at home and for friends on occasion I thought this was a great place and wish that there was one closer to where I live. Gaithersburg or Harrisburg were the choices, but it's always nice just to get out of town and try new things. It was a great night dining with my lady!"

"If you are looking for a different experience and don't mind fair food with friendly but slow service... The Melting Pot is your bet! The appetizers and main courses are ok, at best. But the desserts - well, that's a different story. Dessert comes with lots of dippers and the chocolate sauces are delicious. As an overall dining experience, it was fun for a change of pace but not great... and definitely not the place to go if you are in a hurry!"

"Our waiter seemed very out of it and was highly unhelpful in understanding the menu. We found ourselves listening to other servers to figure out how to order from a complicated menu. He just assumed we wanted the four course meal because it was cheaper, so really didn't explain how the rest of the menu worked. He wasn't mean, just like he was in outer space somewhere. But that wasn't the end of it. The man/boy actually put a salad down in front of me, announcing it as the spinach salad I ordered, but once I looked down, I realized it was a house salad without a lick of spinach in it.
Also, the booth we sat in was sticky. The hostess tried to clean it, but it was still sticky. We provided self help by just putting down napkins."

"The hostess was friendly and we did not have to wait long. Unfortunately we had to wait until after the first course for our drinks. The server said the bar was backed up.
Our server was friendly but it seemed that our table was his last priority. We waited for at least 10 minutes for the cheese fondue. I've been there before and it has never taken that long even when busier....and like I said there was only a few others there at the time and only 2 in my party.
After the main course we waited awhile for the server to come back to order dessert. I ordered coffee, by the time it came we were done eating already.
Definitely longer than usual. The staff was extremely friendly albeit a little inattentive."

"We have been going to Melting Pots all over the country since their inception. We have never had a bad or even a not great experience. Gaithersburg is our "home" location so we visit this location about once a month. This visit was just not to the standards I would give Melting Pot. The food was excellent as always, but our waiter and another waiter that we asked us were not helpful at all. We asked to speak to the manager and the manager never came to see us. We realized when we were finally done with our meal, although we really weren't (Our chocolates were taken before we were through with them), that 3 of the waiters ours included were having more fun "playing around" with the hostesses instead of assisting their guests."

"This was the second year in a row that we went to Melting Pot for our anniversary. It is a fun place to cook your food and enjoy the company. You can not rush out of their and it takes time to cook the food. It is fun and it makes the evening more enjoyable. The desert is the best part. Yummy!"

"Its a fondue joint. Nothing crazy about it other than the prices. Fondue can be a romantic or sweet experience, but next time I will just do it at home. They provide an atmosphere of fine dining without the substance. Waitress was charming and attentive without being overbearing or irritating. Decent selection of wine, mixers, and beer... but I fail to see anything about the restaurant that would inspire recommendations. Just make fondue at home, folks. The equipment will cost as much for a home set up as one meal will run you."

"Our dinner took over 4 hours. Drinks were 30 minutes to arrive. Coffee was "a new pot" brewed with every refill...or so we were told. The pepper mill on the waiter's belt was not offered for our salads. I noticed it when he returned...after the salads were almost finished and asked him if it worked. It did. He just "forgot". I could go on and on. The bottom line....the waiter was awful. The bill for the 4 of us was over $300 and our companions were on a date and were embarrassed not to tip 20%, so as not to make a scene, we chipped in too. $60 tip on very poor service. Next time I'll make a disclaimer to the table at the beginning and complain to the manager (discretely) if the service is that bad."

"I took my mom out for her first Melting Pot experience and she had a blast. Our server, Sara, was AH-MAZING... super cute, very personable, knowledgable and very sweet. We were using a Living Social deal and she did not get any sort of attitude that I have experienced in the past when using deals at other restaurants.
The food was a little salty but very good. B/c it was a Living Social deal, we were required to get a specific 4 course option. It was excellent and the lobster was amazing! :-)"

"The staff at The Melting Pot went above and beyond to accommodate all the requests of my group. I was arranging a surprise gathering, and they went out of their way to help set things up so the guest of honor would be surprised. (They went so far as to turn the lights off in the room where we would be—since there was no one else in there yet—so that when we arrived the guests were able to yell "Surprise!" as the lights went on!) The food was marvelous as usual, and the atmosphere was lovely and jovial. The Melting Pot is one of my favorite restaurants for many reasons, and I highly recommend it for romantic evenings, quality time with someone whose company one enjoys, or fun group outings."

"I attended here with a Living Social Ad...Having never been to a Melting Pot., I enjoyed the food and the ambiance...The one negative was the relatively slow service. I know that it is supposed to take longer due to how the food is cooked, the three courses, etc. But my wife and I got there for a 7:15 reservation and left at 10:15. The first time we sat for 10 minutes and I had to go to the wait stand to ask for our server. Otherwise, the food was great and it was a nice date night."

"What an outrageously expensive and unsatisfactory dining experience. The food was mediocre, practically tasteless, and ceretainly not very creative. The cheese fondues prepared at the table appeared to be powdered chemicals poured into a liquid that the server was at a loss to identify. The "dippers" for that course were tasteless white breads and some veggies: broccoli, carrots & cauliflower -- though not very much of them. The next course was not much better: anemic pieces of chicken, beef, fish and/or shrimp which were then given their "flavor" only through the selection of sauces. Dippers for dessert were hunks of pound cake, brownies & a few sliced strawberries. Over $250 for 7, with 4 adults sharing meals & 2 kids' meals!"

"Melting Pot is the place we go when we want a special meal. It was the server's first day on the job and not only did he do well but another server was nearby every second to make sure we got treated right. They've recently changed their menu and everything is pretty much a la carte now instead of the old "Big Night Out" menu-for-two. We actually liked the new menu better, we got a greater variety of food. Goes without saying we'll be back... over and over again."

"The Melting pot in gaithersburg is a restaurant I regularly (every 3-4 months) eat at. this time we had lobster with our dinner and it was surprisingly good.
The Melting post has recently gone through some menu changes which have received some criticism. However the new menu provides entree options that have not existed in the past."

"This is a favorite restaurant of my wife and I. We try to dine here as often as we can as the environment and food are always top notch. We have never had a bad experience. We have had the pleasure of having repeat servers which is great because while they may not remember us from a past dining experience, the professionalism they exude and the service they provide is never sub-par. I will continue to eat here and strongly recommend this restaurant for anyone looking to celebrate a special occasion or just to have a special night out."

"The food was very good. We enjoyed the 4 courses. There was a special egg dying station for the children on Easter. They had a special menu for Easter as well. We were surprised when the waiter tried to overcharge for our cooking style.
Service was slow and awkward. I should not be asked about my dessert choice while still eating my third course. I should not have to wait 20-30 minutes for refills of the dipping items(bread, apples, rice krispies, strawberries, etc.). Overall, the service was inattentive. I don't like to get up to find my waiter.
I like the Melting Pot but my last two experiences have been 3+ hours. Be prepared to have a long meal."

"Overall, you get what you pay for. Good choices, and relatively tasty. It's a bit complicated with kids, since you have to precisely time all your meats and fish, and they don't provide a timer. The service was uneven. They were relatively attentive at the beginning, but soon after they realized we weren't drinkers, we were largely ignored. In addition, it took a solid 15 minutes between when we finished the main courses and dessert fondues were put out, and after that we didn't see the wait staff for another half an hour. On net, the whole experience took 3 hours -- which was at least 45 minutes longer than it needed to be because of the disappearance of the waitress."

"I have been to this melting pot several times before and received much better service in previous times. I got there after my boyfriend and there was no one osting, so,i had to walk around the maze of tables and corridors they have to find him, then atook about 20 mins for use to be waited on after had sat down. Apparently the waitress didnt know we were in her section. Then the waiter forgot our wine. When we reminded him, someone brought out the wrong bottle and we had to,wait even longer for the right one to be brought out. The food was pretty good, but it was a weird start to the night and made us cranky because we had come so hungry and had to,wait so long for things.
