Maestro's at the Van Dam
Great food, great hosptality, and a great new space. We feature a classic bar and lounge, beautiful dining room and an amazing raised terrace for outdoor dining right on Broadway. Everything we serve we make here. One of our new features are homemade sausages and burgers cooked over lump charcoal. Our mission is to "put the love on the plate". Our culinary team is the most talented and most passionate team in the area. Our service staff has the power to "just say yes" to all customer's needs and wishes. We also feature a great Chef's table that accomodates up to 14 people. A perfect setting for a celebration. We serve great food in a casual and fun atmosphere with no pretense and warm hospitality. Please understand absolutely no reservations are accepted on the outdoor terrace. Outdoor dining is on a first come first serve basis. Reservations made are for inside only.

"My daughters and I always try to make a reservation at Maetro's when staying in the area. The food is great! We wish the lobster mac and cheese was always on the menu and the pink lemonade sorbet. Despite missing them on this vist we still enjoyed ourselves and the food very much."

"Maestro's is clearly the best restaurant in Saratoga, and I say that as a resident who has lived here a while and has eaten at every restaurant in the city. Professionally, whenever we have a VIP come in, Maestro's is where we take them. Not only is the food exceptional, but the service, atmosphere, in short the full dining experience is first rate."

"Portions were VERY small! I ordered the hangar steak well done and it was med well and there were only five small chunks of steak and some leaves of lettuce with fries for $28! My daughter had the $8 Mac and cheese that was like warm paste! My mother and brother seemed to like their dinners, but the after dinner coffee drink was Luke warm at best ! $246.00 for 3 adults and 1 child with 3 alcohol drinks was a little much!"

"My wife & I had high expectations for Maestros , but were disappointed. First, the food: I opted for the prix fixe; the brisket nachos app had one major flaw - there was no brisket. Then came the salmon, dry and tough from being overcooked. Dessert was a chocolate torte that was bland and inedible. My wife chose a salmon burger; she took two bites and could not eat any more. The seating was very tight, the background noise was very high, and our waiter seemed constantly confused. I wish I could say something positive about the experience, but it was like a snowball rolling down a hill, it kept getting worse.I will say the restaurant was obviously popular, so perhaps we came on an off night. But, we were told there are better choices."

"We were welcomed with smiling faces and a blanket since it was a little chilly. The "bread before the bread" with the bean dip was SO good and then surprise! More bread that was SUPER delicious. The wine was good, the entree was excellent. My only compaint was that there were TOO many things to choose from. I tend to have a hard time deciding what to order but it usually comes down to 2 things... at Maestro's I couldn't choose from about 5 dishes. I got the lobster risotto and the portion was great and it was delicious."

"The food was very good and our server was awesome. The only bad part of eating at maestros is the primary hostess. We have delt with her on a couple visits and she is not welcoming and not accomodating. We would go there more often if it was not for her attitude. She makes faces and huffs if you ask for a different table, and when we showed up without a reservation she practically laughed us out of the restaurant."

"We enjoyed our meal. Our prior experience at Maestro's was that it was better for vegetarians, offered more options. We were essentially limited to one entrée choice. Artesian salad was good. Fried chick peas were very good. Service was fine, not superb, but fine. Not hovering or intrusive by any means. Wanted the check a bit sooner and a bit quicker. Took a while to get a glass of wine. Overall, service was good, just not great."

"I have always had a good meal whenever I have eaten there expect during this recent Restaurant Week. My bruchetta appetizer was burned and my sole rolade was tough. I had difficulty cutting into the fish, but the filling was delicious."

"Restaurant Week in Saratoga is a wonderful opportunity to enjoy fine dining establishments that we often put on the "special occasion" list. My boyfriend and I love Maestro's. In fact, I took him there for his birthday last year. We both enjoyed our Restaurant Week selections, which were not as limited as other participating establishments. Prospective diners should be aware that the portions are small, which was not as issue for us but might be for those with larger appetites."

"We are big fans of Maestro's and we were looking foward to our meals during Saratoga Restaurant Week.However,this was the first time that Maestro's disappointed.Our food was cold and the server was not very engaging.We still list it as a favorite,but it was an off night in terms of the entire experience."

"Maestro's is the best! Consistently excellent food and great bar. They offer wonderful specials and offer additional choices on holidays. The wait staff is friendly and attentive. Also, even with one of the most popular bars in Saratoga, the bartenders make you fell at home and the live music is always excellent."

"John LaPosta & the Maestro's staff never disappoints. Whether lunch, dinner, or a drink at the bar, you can expect a remarkable experience. I was most impressed dining on a very busy Saturday evening when our waiter, David, was able to service all his tables effectively and the kitchen was able to produce a meal that was hot, extremely well prepared and matched, with a thoughful presentation. A special note about our server who can have such influence in the overall dining experience; he was efficient, polite, always seemed to be smiling, and was well prepared. Thank you Chef LaPosta. Continued success."

"First experience after many really enthusiastic recommendations for Maestro's. We were promptly received, courtesly treated (had to wait for a reserved table, but not for long), and had a truly delicious meal. We were there on Saturday evening at the shank of the dinner hour. I'm not sure I'd do that again, opting in future for a mid-week or much later time - the room was, plainly put, LOUD. Our waiter was attentive, careful, informative, and running like a maniac. He more than earned his gratuity. Altogether, I would be happy to recommend Maestro's. Our dinners were extremely good, for which I was most grateful since we were being treated. Thank you, Maestro's!"

"I will not recommend your restaurant. I felt the food was good, but your staff is very rude. Your in the service business, but seem to need a reminder. I wanted to try your place. I have, now I'm going to stay at Caroline's where your treated nicely with equal if not better food."

"We've been to Maestro's many times and count it among our favorites. Dinner there this week, though, was a letdown. Both appetizers were served incomplete. The black bean patties were without a sauce or seasoning and were completely bland. The charcuterie plate was served without the apples. The flank steak was excellent and served with colorful and tasty side vegetables. The jumbalaya was good but lacked clarity of flavor and could have used some color in the presentation. The blondie was very good for dessert. The clementine torte promised to be something special but was rather ordinary and could have been improved with a drizzle of dark chocolate. A good restaurant, but an off night for them."
