Terra Mia
At Terra Mia Restaurant ("my land" in Italian) we carefully prepare our dishes using only the freshest ingredients. Our food is made from scratch, like the trattorias and ristorantes in the South of Italy. We make all efforts to purchase organic and locally grown produce and meats, to preserve the flavor and quality of our dishes. We strongly support the SLOW FOOD movement organization, which began in Italy in 1986. The nature of this group is to protect cultural identities linked to food and traditions. Also, for our customers to "slow down" and learn to enjoy meals while spending quality time with family and loved ones. We are located in the Chardonnay Shopping Center near downtown Livermore and popular wineries. Owned and operated by first generation Italians.

"This was the first time at this restaurant, Mother lives in Stockton and I in San Jose so we met in the middle. I choose this restaurant off of Open Table.
Upon arriving we were first seated in a small table almost in a hallway. I asked to be moved somewhere else and the accommodated us and moved us to the back room. We had difficulty communicating with our waiter since neither of us spoke Italian and he spoke little English. The food we received was nothing like we were made to understand it would be, and it was burnt and rubbery (it was suppose to be Quiche ) We told the waiter that my mothers food was well overdone and burnt, he agreed and took it to his manager who would not remove it from the bill. Very unhappy"

"This restaurant is so-so. I came here with my family for Mother's Day Brunch, and it was an okay experience. The food was all right, but nothing special. I'm curious whether it might be much better on their regular menu. Mother's Day had a special brunch menu that you had order from, so who knows, maybe it's better normally. Overall, I'd give Terra Mia a solid B."

"This restaurant has a lively atmosphere so sitting in the room in the back behind the glass wall was best for our group of seven. The waiters graciously pushed two tables together for us. Food was excellent, wait service was fantastic and friendly. If you like Italian food, this restaurant is a great choice to have a southern italian experience."

"The restaurant was busy but the food service was extremely slow. We waited 70 minutes to get the main dish....the waiter did not say what the issue was but it was apparent something happened as people seated 20 minutes after us had their dinners. He tried to recover and offered a desert and coffee as a good will gesture. Sometimes things happen but a staff that cares is why I rated them as I did....we will try again and see if this was just a one time issue."

"Great food without the overwhelming price tag. Casual attire seems to be the norm here. Wait and Bussing staff were dressed professionally but all guests and even the hostess, who appeared to be the owner/manager was dressed casually. Many children. We had a great romantic experience despite feeling overdressed. The food was delicious as the other reviews have mentioned. Clearly made from scratch. They allowed us to bring in our own bottle of wine only charging us the $10 corkage fee, which is reasonable. We were sat next to the inviting fireplace which helped spice up the ambiance 110%. I recommend Terra Mia to anyone not on a formal date. we made the best of our experiences but this is definately a little more on the casual side"

"enjoyed the menu options and the nightly specials, wait staff were always at the ready, and helpful with suggestions. we go there early and the noise level was ok for conversation, but as more diners arrived, conversation was more diffucult. they do have a private dining area that is available, and will see if that is an option next time, will definitely be back !!"

"This is the third time I have been here in 2 months... What is up with the service? Slow, Slow, Slow!!! The first time they told us there was something wrong in the Kitchen... got no answer's the second time. The tables for two... are not even big enough to have an appetizer sit in the middle and small side plate in front of you. A+ for the food when you get it."

"We have eaten at Terra Mia many times before and this one was no different, the food and service are always excellent. Plenty of parking and the people are the most friendly of most restaurants in Livermore. Food is great and very delicious and good portions."
