"Mother's Day Brunch was delicious and well organized. This year, the food stations were better organized in a good location (versus previous year when food stations were spread throughout the bar... area was congested and lines for the omelets were extra long). Eight burners actively preparing omelets to order, and lines moved much more quickly. Everything was delicious and well prepared... from salads (loved the chopped salad with artichokes) crisp bacon, smoked salmon, delicious potatoes, to luscious desserts in just-right portions... much more i didn't have room to sample. Perfectly cooked carved beef tenderloin was a nice surprise. Our waiter was always on-the-spot with decaf coffee and attended to our every need."

"I'd driven past Eddie Merlot's for years on the way to the Audi dealer, where I've purchased cars and taken them back for maintenance. Being a lover of wine, the name intrigued me. Finally, my wife suggested it for our family's Mother's Day dinner this year (2013).
Getting a table for seven was easy on OpenTable (highly recommended).
First, the food -- all of it -- was excellent. Steaks perfectly done. Sides generous and delicious.
The service, however, was underwhelming. Our server came out quickly, asked if we needed some time, which we did. But she basically didn't come back. I had to track down a manager and ask that she come take care of us. At a place of this expense, service has to be perfect. It was not."

"We have eaten at Eddie Merlot's many times, for regular dinners and both the Easter and Mother's Day brunches. We have never been disappointed until this last visit for their Mother's Day brunch. The food was just ok. While there were a few standouts, most things were fair. And then there were the real diappointments. Dry, tasteless beef tenderloin, which the carving person could have been more accomodating on, and bagels which ran the range from stale to fresh. I'm used to a higher standard at Eddie Merlot's. Hopefully, this was an isolated incident, but I may think twice about going for brunch again. For a regular dinner, I've always found it to be worth the price of the food. It's been excellent, and the service is very good."

"We went to Eddie Merlo's for Mother's Day dinner. The steaks were cooked one temperature higher than ordered - the medium rare steaks were medium and the medium steak was close to well done. The manager bought a round of desserts for the table but didn't offer to replace the steaks which was surprising at a restaurant of this caliber. One of the quests had Ahi Rare Tuna and was happy with the entrée."

"This was our first time to dine at Eddie Merlot's. I had very high expectations. Between the 4 of us we ordered from about every aspect of the menu, Seafood, Steak, appetizers, dessert, you name it. The all food was very good. As I expected my steak was exceptional. The service was average or below. It took them forever to take our order. Probably the the biggest disappointment was the ambience. We were seated smack dap in the middle of a large sparsely decorated dinning room. The noise made it almost impossible to hold a conversation. I could back up my seat without bumping into the person dining at the table behind me. For the price of the meal I would have expected a better environment."

"The Steaks & Salads were excellent at Eddie Merlot's but I expect that from any Prime Steakhouse. The appetizers were fair, the sides were only what I would describe as good. The service was polite and efficient. The Restaurant did not deliver any wow factor for me. As I said I expect great steaks at any steakhouse the sides and apps are what set great steakhouses apart. The broccoli was a bit underdone, the mashed potatoes were good not great, the same for the mushrooms. In no way would I say we did not enjoy our meals it was just solid and unspectacular."

"Excellent selection for great food and special occasion ambiance. Food prepared exactly as requested was outstanding. Menu has many choices to please most. Bar is very decorative, as are the many dining rooms. Would highly recommend going and enjoying yourself. Desserts are large enough to split (the carrot cake can even be split 4 ways it is so huge.) Make your reservation soon, the restaurant and bar fills up quickly on Saturday nights!"

"Darn it! After my many praises to Co-Workers, Family and Friends, this was my very first bad experience at Eddie Merlot's. It was Easter Sunday's Brunch, so maybe I will skip that and just continue my Dinners at Eddies. The small dinner rolls were as hard as a rock, so much so that I had to ask the Manager to bake me some fresh bread. I was shafted with the burnt ends of the Prime Rib not once, but twice! I am a Meat & Potatoes kind of girl, so there went the Meat :( I was definitely disheartened by that! Probably the worst part, I went for the Bananas Foster Bar and they cancelled it completely. We came from Alexandria, KY and the West Side of Cincinnati..."

"To say the service was disappointing is an understatement. We were not sat for 40 minutes after our reservation, which I know is not always the restaurant's fault. We didn't receive a wine list when we sat and it took our waitor 20 minutes to get us a list. It took him as long to come back to take the order. The food service was slow, so it didn't help that he didn't bring bread until our 3rd request. He mixed up the temperatures of 2 of our steaks, which took over 10 minutes to get back the steak that had been undercooked (I kept my overcooked steak b/c I was starving). The waiter came back to ask how our food was w/o acknowledging that we didn't have all of our meals yet. I expect better service when I am at a nice restaurant."

"Requested a table in a carpeted room but they were unable to accommodate due to group parties. Only one room was occupied. Noise level loud in general dining room - poor accoustics. Do not recommend for elderly or anyone with a hearing impairment. Food and service were very good."

"Jay, our waiter, was one of the best *ever*. He made Jane's 70th birthday special. The service was a great balance between helpful and unobtrusive. Jay was genuine, thoughtful, and did a great job handling a large table with lots of special requests."

"Me and my boyfriend celebrated our 5 year anniversary. It was the best steak he has had. My pork chop was sdelicious. Our waiter was so friendly and quick. He split our salad in half and gave us each a choice of dressing. He prepared our dessert table side and it was very entertaining."

"We were last year for brunch and our service was poor. They ran out of food and were very slow to refill. That was not the case this year. We had 3 small kids with us they pit us in the front near the fireplace with other families with children it was perfect."

"Server did not explain what beverages were included in Easter Brunch and asked everyone if they wanted Mimosa or Bloody Mary. The impression was that was part of the brunch but it was not. "We went on Good Friday and it wasn't super busy but it appeared they were understaffed. Both my wife and I had to send our steaks back to be cooked up as they were both undercooked. The waiter noticed before we said anything.
Interesting side dish was the onions and charred jalepenos. It was very tasty.
Service team was friendly but slow (we believe due to understaffing).
A bit pricey and their are better steak joints in the area but I like decor and it is conveniently located."

"The food as always was impeccable. Simply loved everything we had. Was in the mood for a good beer and they delivered. The wine by the glass menu is extensive and wonderful. Anthony was our server and he was perfect. He knew when to approach and when to leave us alone. He knew what to suggest and where to steer us. He was fantastic. Clearly they only hire the best!"

"I thought that the food and atmosphere was excellent. I did not feel rushed with my dinner and that I could take my time and enjoy it. However, for the price we were left on our own a lot. "We've eaten here at least 2X a year since they opened, and usually get outstanding service and excellent food... EXCEPT last Friday (final day of their lobster fest). The service began well, but lacked as the evening progressed. Two of us ordered lobster, which arrived cold, tough, part of it slimy/undercooked. Butter came later and was not completely melted. Tempura green beans & potatoes cold. The candle under butter blew out en route table. Server disappeared for what seemed like a long while. When he reappeared, my lobsters were replaced... cold and tough. Then, he disappeared again...As we left we noticed Marvin Lewis (Bengals) was sitting behind us, which explains our lack of service."

"We went for the lobster special. The option for two lobsters for a reduced price versus "all you can eat" was appreciated. However, we were served the two lobsters at once. By the time we were ready to eat the second lobster it was cold. Since they were delivering hot lobster to other tables partaking in the "all you can eat" it wouldn't have been hard to serve our second lobster warm. We sat for the second year in a row directly next to the wait staff area. The constant wait traffic was annoying. We also faced the road and shared dinner with rush hour traffic. I would recommend only going to this restaurant if you can request and receive a table in the limited main dining space. The ambiance is night and day. Service was fair."
