Situated in the heart of historic Steveston Village, with unparalleled views of the harbour and Fishermen's Pier, Blue Canoe is a unique seafood restaurant offering the best quality and variety of local fresh seafood, prepared simply with the freshest local ingredients available.
"We had prompt, hot and delicious food. Tried the spot prawn appetizer, and though it was small, it was very good, as was their selection of seafood. Nice wine and nice little community, far removed from the normal hustle and bustle oftrendy Vancouver restaurants. I was reminded of Parksville and Tofino, with slightly less scenic harbormaster visible from our table."

"Had a team dinner here after work and it was really good. The meals were expertly cooked and portion size was perfect. We had the trout and the halibut. It was a warm sunny evening and so nice to sit outside with the great view of the fishing boats and the ocean."

"Our waitress, was warm, attentive, considerate, efficient & accommodating, despite how busy she was :)
Pls put the gas fire on!!...... for more ambiance on cooler days.
Also, there seemed to be less, non-seafood alternatives this last visit. Before, I had a mexican dish here, that I really enjoyed, but it was no longer on the menu. Also more diversity in "salads," as a main would be nice.
My father & brother really enjoyed, the fish & chips & halibut special.
THANK YOU"

"We have been to the Blue Canoe many times over the past several years and enjoyed it each time. I tried the prawn and salmon roulade (?) - it was delicious and my wife had the halibut special and also enjoyed that. We have not been there for many months so we had not seen our server before. She was great and very attentive. During the meal, on a cloudy evening, the sun peaked through just at sunset and we got a great view of nature at its best. After we finished our meal and while we were enjoying our coffee, the Chef came out and visited several of the tables, including ours so we were able to ask a question about the meal I had ordered and get the answer from the expert."

"Best view of the Steveston Waterfront! Tied for best restaurant in Steveston (Tapenade is the other gem). Wine and beer list is well chosen. Most servers are in their 30's and have talent and experience and prove they want to make the guest feel pampered without being slavish. I've been here dozens of times for dinner, lunch, and brunch and have never had a mediocre or a bad meal. The food is excellent. What I would recommend is that they have lunch specials like they do at dinner, so regulars like myself might have more variety. I have had so many great meals here with delicious wine and very accomplished service, friendly, knowledgable, but never snobby. Jim and his crew have done a great job."

"There were 9 of us out for a lunch at the Blue Canoe recently. Food was spectacular. Service was great even though the restaurant was quite busy. Sun was shining and you couldn't ask for a better view of the water.
Thank you so much for a great time."

"Dinner for four at 7:30 pm. The place was busy and noisy mainly because of a large party at the next table. The service was prompt, the specials were very good and the lemon chiffon pie dessert was to die for. The view is spectacular."

"The owner, Jim, was responsible for my 5 star rating. He made wine and menu selection recommendations, and provided me with some "goodies" while I was eating at his restaurant. The food and wine were excellent and I loved the personalized attention that he and his wait staff gave me while I was in the restaurant. This restaurant wasn't on my radar screen because it used to be a fish and chips joing, but it is now! I live in the Bay Area, but when I return to Steveston for business again this will be one of my top restaurants to eat at while I'm there."

"A friend was coming from out of town so I picked the Blue Canoe to dine at. 2 out of the 6 girls have only been there before and everyone thought it was excellent. The chef came out and talked with us we thought that was very cool. They had 4 dessert specials they made homemade in house and we tried them all. It was excellent!!!"

"While some of the restaurants in Steveston have been slipping when it comes to menu items and food quality, Blue Canoe seems to keep getting better and better. There's always something new when it comes to the specials and the chef does not disappoint. The regular menu has something for everyone and is consistently delicious. There is also a great selection of drinks and wine. The setting is amazing and only gets better in the warmer months when the full patio and view can be enjoyed. The staff are always welcoming and work hard to make the dining experience even more enjoyable. Definitely my number one spot in Steveston!!!"

"First time dining at the Blue Canoe, Loved it !! We went on a very busy night, service was great and energy of the staff was noticable. We tried a few items off of their special Valentines menu and WOW !! Lobster tail with home made pasta and citrus butter was one of the best meals I have had in a while. My wife enjoyed the cheese on the tomato and pesto salad - Buretta. It is a special cheese from back east, she asked for more ..... All deserts are made in house from what we were told, the tre Leche ( spelling )with candied apple was a perfect finish to a wonderful evening.
Love the music, the soap, the service, the vibe, thanks for a great night Blue Canoe."

"Love this restaurant! It has become a ritual to take our aging parents there for lunch. The food and wait staff are great, and the ambience and setting lovely. Yesterday's entree was a little slow in arriving, probably due to the arrival of many new customers arriving all at one time."

"My favourite Steveston waterfront restaurant. Great ambience inside or outdoor patio. By far the best calamari in town served in strips: crispy, crunchy, good flavour, and you can tell they change the oil regularly. Server suggested Elderberry sangria to my friend. She loved it! Me too! We both will definitely order that again! House Canoe Lager was a winner too. Good yummy menu variety & service. Inside restaurant is simultaneously cozy, romantic, yet has a open feel to it because of all the windows that look out towards the water and the great patio."

"Tucked in off the main street of Steveston, th Blue Canoe is certainly a "hidden" gem. We were taken to our table promptly and the server came to take our drink order. The menu offers a lot of variety and there were a few things we could have chosen. The Prawn Pappardalle was delicious...loaded with prwans and my partner had the halibut...he said it was delicious. I'd love to go there in the summer...the view would be spectacular."

"The best restaurant in Steveston. Food is always exquisite. The service is always attentive and of the utmost quality and the beverages delicious.
The reason I didn't give it full marks was the presentation of the food. I personally had the seafood salad, which was excellent, but it was served on a rectangular plate, which made it messy and difficult to eat. My friend had the Blue Plate, which was the linguine vongole, again excellent and way better than Paesano's, but the portion looked smaller compared to the last time I remember. Having it.
Really, all in all, I can't wait to return."
