Tom Goodchild's Moose Factory is with out question Alberta's largest and most beautiful steak house. After its 13,500 square foot addition completed June of 2000, Tom Goodchild's Moose Factory stretches over 20,000 square feet with a seating capacity of over 700 dining room, lounge, banquet room, and patio combined.
This location has built its reputation on the Sawmill formula. Serving over half a dozen different cuts and sizes of "AAA" Alberta beef one can't go wrong ordering any one style. The Moose Factory has become known for several unique qualities. It's luncheon buffet Monday through Friday from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00p.m., attracts the busy luncheon crowd.

"My family took me here to enjoy a wonderful evening and, of course, take advantage of Moose Factory's birthday special. Appetizers were Caesar salad, fresh, crispy and flavourful, and escargots, in a wonderfully tasty sauce and a fresh flaked style pastry- very good. We all had the steak and lobster. It was interesting 4 same size, same cut steaks all tasted differently and even the 2 medium and 2 medium rare cooking was different. Otherwise a most enjoyable meal with excellent service, a patient and forgiving waitress, and great ambiance."

"My husband and I went to the Moose Factory in Edmonton AB on May 14/13. We had never been there before and really did not know what to expect
I must say I did enjoy it much better than The Saw Mill. There were more choices for the menu and the wine list plus they have specials every night.
We will very likely be going back there for any special occasions and taking our friends as well.

"We have been going to The Moose Factory's Mother's Day Brunch for about 10 years now and we have never had a bad time. Food is always above standard and service is excellent. We live in Whitecourt now but would not miss our special occasions at the Moose for anything. Keep up the good work."

"This was the second time we had been for brunch. The first time was great. The food was good and the service was friendly and fast. This time however it was a mad house on Mother's day. The line for food was insanely long and some items were out, so although they were replacing them very quickly, you did have to wait a tiny bit more for certain things. The biggest difference was teh quality of the food. The waffles and french toast were better, but the bacon was gross and my eggs benedict were cold (and they were fresh)."

"It was my first time at Tom Goodchild's Moose Factory for brunch, and my experience has been wonderful. It was a very busy place and I was very impressed with how the staff handled the people traffic, it was very smooth and organized. "I really live the food her but keep in mind it is a bit pricy, you do get what you pay for though. The waitress we had, must be the slowest waitress I have ever had, super slow, acted like she had no idea what she was doing and was really just overall rude. She treated everyone like they were stupid and was really annoyed when we asked questions about the menu. This being our first time here I thought she would have been a little more helpful.

My only negative comment would be about the menu. I found the menu to not have a lot of choices. My daughter had difficulty finding something that she would eat - is not a big steak or fish fan, and doesn't like mushrooms, so the choices were very limited for her tastes. I would have chosen a steak, but found the pricing to be unrealistic when you have to choose separate sides and pay over $5.00 for each one. At least, the potato choice should be included in the price of the steak - you could then choose whatever you wanted to go with it"

"Have eaten at Tom Goodchilds on a number of occasions and the steaks are always top class. Disappointed that they've changed the menu so that you now have to order side dishes separately and they are all for 2 people - definite upsell with no opt-out clause. Having said that the side we ordered - asparagus, tomatoes and Yukon gold mash were delicious. Quite pricey compared to other steak houses. Get a table in the original part of the restaurant not the cathedral like extension. Server Parker B was very attentive and friendly"

"Overall I was a little disappointed in the restaurant. The decor is lovely but the food was lacking. I had a chicken lime salad and it was uneventful, mainly lettuce, a few pieces of chicken, tomatoes and advocado on the side, no dressing to speak of. My friends had the buffet which they enjoyed. The dessert altho they looked wonderful were bland. I really think they could do alot better given the ambience and unfortunately I don't really want to go back anytime soon."

"We arrived at the restaurant at 655pm and had a 5 minute wait to our table which was fine. We were the first two guests of our party of 7. Upon arrival of the rest of the guests 710, we had ordered 2 bottles of wine and 2 beers. Our server, Marie, about 27 mins later had brought one beer, one bottle of wine, and one wrong bottle of wine and no other beer. When she realized she was about to take both bottles of wine back and we had to ask for her to leave the other. The extra wine glasses were not removed from the table and the drink issue remained the same for the rest of the night, most of us ordering two cause it took so long. As for the food, the majority took steak n lobster and ranged from Medium rare to well. They all came out well"

"The Chardonay room was perfect but there were problems with the food. My salad was wrong. I didn't want to start the evening off returning my salad. One guest ordered baked potato but got mashed. One guest didn't get a potato at all. There seemed to be a disconnect between the servers and the kitchen. I'll stop here.

"We booked for a group of 6 for a Saturday brunch. On arriving we were told that the brunch is on Sunday and there was no breakfast menu. Since we were geared up for breakfast we decided to go to another restaurant but the waiter convinced the kitchen to do breakfast for us! Talk about going the extra mile!!"

"Went for Easter Brunch, it was great. Lots of options for everyone as you could go healthy, not so healthy, breakfasty or lunchy. The food was really good and I liked it more than other places that charge more for a single plate (as opposed to a buffet). Our table had everyone from raw veggie enthusiast to gimme some roast (with some waffle and whipped creme inbetween... but not literally of course) and everyone was satisfied."
