"For the occasion of Mother's Day, my husband made this reservation for my son, himself and I. We were seated at an inside table with little view while there were several tables at the windows free. Not wanting to cause a problem we stayed there. The service was fine. The prix fixe had a limited selection. Two of us went with it while my son chose from the a la carte section of the menu. Two fish dishes were delicious and well done while the fried checken was awful. There was as much breading and crust as there was chicken which was a thigh section. The desserts were basic. It's too bad for such a spectucular location to find the experience so mediorce."

"What a let down. The baked clams were the worst we have ever tasted. The lamb entre was so dry. They should have just served leather The dessert was a tablespoon of cheesecake at least it was very tasty"

"Lovely Evening,
I celebrated my birthday. Overall it was a great experience. It was a Wed. evening so the restaurant was not very busy which

"I cant say enough- an amazing dining experience. Our hostess was thoughtful and saw we asked for a romantic table. She told us to hold off on the next seating bc and even better table was coming. It was in a nook- cozy and romantic - yet we could hear the great music coming from the bar. Just the right noise level- so we could talk. We had such a beautiful view of the city- and the cocktails were a awesome- especially the Morgan!!! The Arugala salad was deliciously dressed. We absolutely loved the Rigatoni seafood dish- it was amazing! I had the Tiger Prawn special. I'm craving it right now. The seasoning was perfect- it could be the most delicious thing I ate. My husband had hallibut which was so delicious. Our waiter was great"

"This is a great place for a special occasion. We went there for our wedding anniversary. The view is stunning. we were there at sunset and the food was great. We brought along our 9-year old daughter. Although this is probably not the typical place for kids she was treated like a princess and was very happy with the lemon spaghetti with smoked scallops. My wife ordered the excellent tuna and I had the halibut that was cooked to perfection. All of the dishes get a "highly recommended". A great dinner!"

"Overall good but make sure you ask for seating in main dining area unless you want to sit in a secluded side passage way by a window and feel like you are not even in the restaurant. that is where we were first seated and had to complain a bit to get moved. Little bit of attitude from the hostess. Otherwise food was good and we were fortunate to enjoy a pretty sunset visible form the main dining area. Perhaps if on a date night and want to be alone, you might want to opt for these tables that are behind curtains but to us, it felt like you were dining in a hallway."

"The view is absolutely incredible. We had a beautiful sunset during dinner. I had the Oysters Casino which were presented beautifully and then the Arroz con Pato , a juicy breast of duck with red forbidden rice. My husband had the pea risotto and then the Spain vs USA a pork dish made with two very different flavors that complemented each other well. Everything was cooked perfectly. Service was very knowledgeable and attentive. It's definitely the perfect place for a special occasion. A bit pricey but definitely worth it. Can't wait for our next occasion."

"This is the 2nd time I've been there and both times I've been disapointed. Twice I've asked for a wondow seat facing the sunset and both times I was declined, even when I made a reservation 2 weeks in advance. Although I've been told that the tables can not be reserved, both times I've come in when the tables were empty and watch others be seated after me at a window. I was told this time that it was becuase they were testing food. I was paying for mine so I think I should have priority. I also find that you are rushed through your meal. As for the food, it is fair but pricey. I won't come again unfortunatl"

"I went on a business lunch to 42 and found the service slow and the food only passable. I ordered the fish and chips and received a very thin piece of fish that was lost on an oversized bun. It was a disappointment. We had ten minutes at the end of the meal in which we could have ordered coffee and made our afternoon meeting. However, it took more than ten minutes for the waiter to come take our order. We consequently, asked for the check and left without our coffee. 42 is a beautiful restaurant but the dining room was almost empty. I attribute this to poor service and barely passable food."

"Upon arrival the restaurant said they had us in for a different time and would not seat us - even after I showed them my confirmation email from Open Table stating the time of our reservation! The time difference between what was in my confirmation email and what they had in their system was only 15 minutes and, to make matters worse, half the tables were empty! I was told that they could seat me at 9PM or the following evening. Given that my reservation was at 5:45, 9PM was unacceptable. I have never been treated so rudely by restaurant staff. I won't go back. There are so many fabulous restaurants in White Plains, Rye and Port Chester that I won't even miss them!"

"Went for a special our anniversary.The restaurant is pretty and views are amazing. The food however is not. The Sommelier took close to a half an hour to come to our table to help us pick a special wine for the occasion. He was condescending and unfriendly when he did come. Our waiter was attentive, but not really knowledgable about the food preparations Just said, "yes, it's good" when asked about a specific dish.The food was a big disappointment. Crab risotto had 2 little pieces of crab, halibut didn't taste fresh and was covered in awful sauce, inedible. Steak was good, but buried under tower of fried onion rings the size of doughnuts. Looked ridiculous and tasted like fried dough from a carnival truck. Wont be going back."

"We were put into a makeshift room for restaurant week. The staff was very sweet and they tried, but they were clearly temps for restaurant week as well.
It was ok, but not a Ritz Carlton experience. Management needs to be more sophisticated.

"The best part of this restaurant are the panoramic views on top the hotel which cannot be surpassed in all of Westchester County. It is perfect for a special occasion and the service is well executed. The food is not exceptional so we were disappointed; however, we would still go back for the magnificent views!"

"***Preface- this is a Restaurant Week review (ie. prices should have been somewhat lower than usual and the food being served isnt expected to be the best on the regular menu)

With this in mind, the food was sub-par compared to the prices, the waiting staff bothered us too much, but the view was great. The first course consisting of the pea soup and the arugula salad was the least tasty. The salad was decent (nothing worth elaborating over), but the soup was not to our tastes. The actual soup just tasted like peas (again, nothing to write home), but the foamy dollop of goat cheese, which was made to not sink in the soup, ruined the goat cheese texture and taste. The rest of the meal was ok."

"My second time there, and once again it did not disappoint. The selections are always unique and tempting, the service good and the atmosphere vibrant. The prices can be a bit steep, but this time it was Restaurant Week, which made it even better."

"The waiter who took care of us didn't make any attempt to be nice to us. He rushed us and totally ignored us when he saw someone he knew.

The food was ok. We had to tell them to slow things doen or we would have been done in an hour. That isn't the point of going to thid restaurant. I was disapointed."

Take a date here and be the best person ever!

They also charge $10 to park- I believe diners should have parking waived

"The "PFC" Portuguese Fried Chicken was very tasty. Decor, plateware, presentation, and view were all beautiful. We were there for Hudson Valley Restaurant week so the prices were very reasonable. However, the level of food wouldn't warrant normal prices. Food is good, sometimes very good. Food is not outstanding.
Our reservation was for 8:00 p.m. and weren't seated until 8:40. We didn't mind and had a drink at the bar, but I could see a lot of other people minding.
What I REALLY appreciated about 42 participating in HVRW is that I didn't get the sense they were phoning it in. There were lots of options on the menu, instead of one or two choices, and a standard dessert. That always makes a customer feel good."
