"Went for Mother's Day and had a great time. Would highly recommend having a reservation. There was some confusion with how our steaks were cooked, but they fixed it quickly. The key lime pie pairing with the Moscato wine was superb. Oh, and don't miss the Mac 'n Cheese with lump crab."

"The table next to us were obviously frequent customers but obnoxious to us as the female had more than enough to drink and loud. She was being brought drink after drink by the waiter and manager just because her lobster was made with the claws on that seemed to be the complaint at every table that night. The food was good and the waiter was more than great."

"Mother's Day can be a hassle, but my spouse had been wanting a steak. Arrived exactly at our reservation time but had to wait about 15 minutes for a table - a bit of an annoyance, but it being Mother's Day, we overlooked it. Slow getting my spouse's drink sent to the table after it was ordered in the bar, only glitch of the entire evening though. Chris, our waiter, took excellent care of us. Steaks were perfect. And if you are looking for a great wine list, here is your dream! After we got home and looked at the bill a little more carefully, my spouse noticed the drink had not been added to our bill. Maybe it was their way of saying, "Thank you for your patience on the busiest day of the year." Tells me they really care about their guests."

"We all had meat (beef and veal chops) and the food was really outstanding, the taste and tendress were of rare quality and the cooking was exactly as we ordered. The portions of the entrees and vegetables were fairly big and of the desserts really too big. Also a very good service. As a reminder though, put on some long sleeves, since airco was working really well, and be prepared to be send to lounge "while your table is being prepared"."

"From the time we walked through the door until the time we left, we have a very pleasant dining experience. This was actually mine and my husband's second time dinging at Pappa's Steakhouse but it was a first time visit for the other couple that was with us. "After reading several mentions of this resturant in Wine Spectator, I have been wanting to try it for some time. Probably one of the best food, wine and service experiences you can have in the USA. Local grown steaks and Australian lobsters were awsome, sides dishes were delightful (the mushrooms were visually stunning and quite tasty). Service was supreme (Casey you are the best), and the sommelier attention was spectacular (the wine list is incredible and the number of deep and back verticles was something to see, and hopefully sample). So glad I got the chance to go on this trip to Houston. This resturant should be on everyone's great food experience bucket list."

"The food came eventually but the potato was not as ordered. It was replaced. The steak looked good and was appropriately done, if not a little on the over done side. It had good flavor but was tough. I ate a couple of bites before I was asked how it was. I told the chef that it was tough. A suit clad person soon came and apologized. He said another was being cooked and would be ready in 30-60 seconds. I told it was not necessary. I had plenty of food with the beans and potato. He insisted. Several minutes later, long enough for me to nearly finish the beans and potato, another steak arrived. I tried it and it was the same. The chef was visibly irritated."

"Planning a convention trip to Houston, I sought out a premier steak place. Pappas was highly recommended and it didn't take long to agree. Arriving at prime time Friday evening, we were immediately seated per my reservation. Chris, our server, was attentive, well versed and prompt but never intrusive. Our food was absolutely fabulous! I expected an excellent steak and that's exactly what I got. The bacon wrapped scallops are a must. "I've eaten at most of the finer steakhouses in America and Pappa's Bros. is always amongst the very best. This trip was no exception with an aged-to-perfection, perfectly cooked Bone-In Ribeye and fresh creamed spinach meeting their maker. While we did find some decent under-$70 wines on the menu, there weren't many choices in that category so it took some knowledge and some searching through their extensive wine list to find good value there."

"The food was phenomenal, the staff was top notch it simply does not get any better than paps bros. When I made the reservation almost a month ago under special requests I simply stated it was my girlfriends birthday. When the server showed up he said "I understand there's a special.celebration tonight, make sure to save room for desert, happy birthday ma'am". Her bananas foster cheese cake was free of charge and delicious. I would eat there every.night if I could afford.it."

"This is a terrific restaurant and should be experienced by all who enjoy great steaks! They dry-age their steaks in-house and show-case them for you in the bar/hosting area. I recommend going early and requesting seating in the Cigar Room (no actual smoking taking place), as the room is away from the main dinning area and offers a more private/romantic environment."

"I've heard about the steakhouse for some time since moving to Houston a year ago. Tried a few times but reservations weren't available. Had clients from syracuse New York coming in so planned ahead and made reservations. We were put in a side room. The specials were memorized by our server and said to us at such a pace that we thought they must need our table. We were pleased with the knowledge of the sommelier and our italian wines were excellent. The desserts were excellent. I thought the steaks and sides were great. It may have been the crowded room we were in but I didn't enjoy the experience as much as we should have for an 800 meal for 4. I am sure we will be back. Next time we won't sette on any table."

"Food is just fantastic. Meat is cooked to perfection and the fresh oystes were the best i have ever had. Together with an impressing wine list Pappas has not very far to reach perfection. The only thing i think would improve the overall experience is that the light should be better. Now it was impossible to read the menu without using a pocket lamp. Also from this great food you would of course like to get the visual impression."

"While food and service has been exemplary in the past, the last couple of visits have disappointed. Notably, wine is priced according to review and vintage. When I ordered wine, the vintage was not the same as the one ordered. When presented with this, the wine steward offered no explanation or discount. Are you ready for this? The same thing happened with the second bottle. My last visit was just more disappointing than the last. Reservation was made for 8:45 PM. I arrived early (8:30)for cocktails, checked in, then watched as five other parties that arrived after me were seated. I waited until 9:20 before we decided to sit at the bar. Steaks came out raw...my last time to go here."
