Teru Sushi in Studio City was created in 1979 and opened to rave reviews at the beginning of the sushi craze in LA, It was the first in the Valley to combine fine Japanese cuisine with a warm and lively ambiance and is widely known for a consistently high quality of food and friendly efficient service.
"This place has been in business for years, and there's a reason it's lasted. Great sushi for the money, great atmosphere, and friendly service. I'm so glad it's around the corner from me!"

"It was nice to know that a place I have been to hundreds of times can maintain such a consistent quality over 20+ years! Thank you Richard for making it amazing each time we bring new friends. Thank you to the wait staff for always serving with a smile. And thank you to the hosts for always accommodating what each group needs."

"We went on a saturday night..last minute..thank god I made an online reservation with Open Table. Do not even think about going there on a weekend without one. We walked in and it was wall to wall people and a surprising amount of children. That is a Studio City thing..bringing kids to sushi restaurants at 8pm.. I first got turned off by that. It took almost 20 minutes to get a table and I had to wrangle the hostess' a few times. They are overworked and there seems to be no real manager. Frie The service was slow but the waitress was just slammed..Ordered an appletini (not with real vodka)..do not get it. Ordered the "latino roll."..get it..Ordered california and shrimp tempura roll...very good. Ordered chicken teriyaki..good. Fried"

"The food and the service was good, above average I'd say. However the screaming children in the booth next to us definitely soured the experience. Also this was surprising considering our reservations were at 9:30. Nothing the restaurant could have done, but definitely effected our experience."

"Well chosen cuts of fish and creative rolls make this sushi spot a valley favorite. Reservations are generally a good idea as the place gets packed fairly quickly."

"My wife and I have been looking for a good "go to" Sushi restaurant since we moved to the Valley. We tried the local "All You Can Eat" dives and found them satisfactory, but nothing more. On a suggestion from a friend I got a reservation at Teru for Valentine's Day. Calling up the day before and having my choice of times made me a little wary. But the warm service, comfy atmosphere, and DELICIOUS rolls quickly made me a believer. Sometimes you just get lucky and find a gem... a special place that somehow -- believe it or not -- slips under the radar. Teru totally fit that bill. I highly recommend."

"Shop, Drop, and Roll fantastic. Da Bomb fantastic. Other stuff looked great, but one can eat only so much! I've been going there for many years, and it's never wavered."

"Service was awful. Slow and painful to watch as she struggled to get anything -- even our water. The food was okay, bit dry. But that might have been as it was at the pass for so long. Too many other options out there to suffer through amateur mistakes like this place made. Go somewhere else."
