"We were surprised and offended when a table of 8 teenage boss sat next to us wearing gym shorts and tree shirts...No collar...you need to request proper attire. You'd have a great atmosphere if that was addressed."

"Dinner was excellent. Food was cooked to perfection. I had a filet and it was perfectly medium rare. We went for our anniversary and they took that seriously. They had complimentary champagne, dessert and a keepsake photograph that they take and develop right there for you. Our server was very good, I forget her name, but she was attentive and just a generally nice person. There was a group next to us that was a little on the noisy side. I'm not sure if they realized this so I hate to criticize it, but that's the only thing that could have improved the ambiance."

"My wife and I went there for our 35th wedding anniversary. We normally go to Morton's for special occasions. I suggested we try the Capital Grille and we are glad we did. For a Monday night business seemed brisk. We were directed to a table, asked if a booth was available and they were glad to accommodate us. We split the spinach salad and the lobster and macaroni cheese. My wife had the Filet Oscar and I had the Bone-In Kona Crusted Dry Aged Sirloin with Shallot Butter. ALL of the selections were delicious. Our server Maurice did an outstanding job and went above and beyond to make sure this was a night that we wont forget."

"I had told them ahead of time that we were celebrating a birthday. When we arrived, the table was decorated with birthday confetti. The service was great, and the food was wonderful. We even received complimentary dessert. A bit pricey, but well worth it!"

"Steak was fabulous, unfortunately for the 2 non-beef eaters..the fish was awful! Dry and tasteless....Waiter misrepresented a dish, although he was apologetic afterwards.
Since it was a birthday celebration, they brought two desserts, on the house...which was appreciated.

Just don't go to a steakhouse and order fish!"

"I was absolutely blown away by the service and food. It was my mother in laws' birthday and the staff made her feel very special. They brought her a hand signed card, as well as champagne, creme brûlée, and a picture for all of us to remember the occasion. Our waiter was knowledgable and funny, as well as the manager. The steaks were out of this world. We have eaten at some very well known steak houses but this one blows them out of the park."

"Great food, great service, great everything!! Expensive, but well worth the money. Good for a special occasion or a treat. Always a reliable good to great meal and experience.The porterhouse steak was done perfectly (medium rare) with great flavor and tenderness. I recommend the lobster and crab cake as an appetizer. "This is the second time I've been to Capital Grille. The atmosphere,service and food far surpase the larger chain steak houses like Ruth Chris or Mortons. Keep in mind that the portions are large so appetizers can be easily shared as well as side dishes. The waiter we had was top notch. No complaints."

My first Capital Grill visit was at the long island location that experience was so nice it prompted me to visit the location closer to my home (Stamford CT). "Overall food was good. Steaks were good. My lobster had some undercooked parts which was disturbing. Unfortunately our dessert had paper in it from a sweetener packet which was disconcerting. Only positive was waiter was very apologetic and manager handled it well. But thought these two flaws were deal breakers for going back. I would not recommend it. There are better places that do not make those type of mistakes"

"Two food issues. One, had to scrape Blue Point oysters out of their shells. Oysters were far from fresh. The chef should be ashamed. Using the oyster forks the oysters didn't stay together enough to lift off the oyster shell as one piece. It took 3-4 attempts with the fork to eat each oyster in pieces. And two, we ordered $48 porterhouse for my wife & I to split. I requested the steak be sliced off the bone. Apparently this request lead to our steak sitting in the kitchen too long. By the time it arrived, it was nearly room temperature. I wanted to point these issues out to our waiter Maurice, but my wife asked me to refrain."

"Were Arriving slightly late so we called about 20 mins before our reservation, ably took the info and told us no problem. Arrived and was seated immediately, Robert our waiter was excellent and since this was the last day of restaurant week, we decided to do the RW menu, 3 courses for $30 was AMAZING! Everything tasted fresh and excellent! the Dry aged steak i had was good, not great but my wife's Filet was INCREDIBLE!I very rarely taste her meat becasue everything has to be practically Burned(well) done this was the first steak i had that was well done but still amazingly juicy without being butterflied! Salad and soup was amazing as well, their field greens salad was exemplary(honestly a little goat cheese on it would put it over the top)"

"Skimpy on the side dishes for two.Service was very good our waiter Robert did a excellant
job.I asked the hostess for a seat in the bar she told me a hour wait the table was empty
for 45 mins."

"As usual a wonderful dining experience. The food service wine list are impeccable. My wife and I have been to this gem several times and I have been here with large work groups as well as small groups of friends. No matter the size of our group from 2 to 30 the service and food remain consistent. Just a fantastic experience."

"Last night's dinner was to celebrate my daughter's birthday, coincidentally during Restaurant Week. When Nick, the waiter learned we were celebrating, he brought us the complimentary celebration champagne, even though we hadn't ordered it in advance and we were only choosing from the special Restaurant Week menu. The chef was very accommodating to my daughter's gluten sensitivity, letting us know that the au jus for the filet mignon did contain some gluten. Nick's recommendations for a new wine that was "on sale" for the evening was right on. The service is great, no matter how much or how little you spend. Capital Grille in Stamford never disappoints."

"My girlfriend and I invited some friends to join us at Capital Grille - Stamford for Stamford Restaurant Week. We usually take advantage of this opportunity twice a year alone, but this time we decided to ask others to join us. My party enjoyed the service, food and romatic ambiance from beginning to end.

My girlfriend has had the privilege of dining at Capital Grille many times with her firm, but it was a first for the other couple plus it turned out to be their 13th wedding anniversary. They were thoroughly impressed and will definitely be back.
