Lexington Square Cafe invites guests into a vast space that combines cosmopolitan chic with a friendly atmosphere. Its distinct decor exudes elegance and warmth, so it accommodates the needs of its patrons, formal and informal. A spacious main dining room with a 17-foot high ceiling and different tiers provides guests with various dining niches. Cherry wood wine racks, alabaster lighting and a grand, sweeping staircase add to Lexington Square's sumptuousness. An upstairs, warm dining room with butternut squash walls and cozy booths is perfect for those who prefer a little more intimacy. Still another option during the warmth of spring, summer and fall is a private, flowery patio for casual al fresco dining. Chef Gerald Alcin has created a menu that has "SOMETHING FOR EVERYONE". The most popular items on his menu are Thai Lettuce Wraps, Grilled Lobster "Mojito", Chopped Salad(#1 Seller), King Salmon Club, Sesame Crusted Sea Scallops & 20oz. Brown Sugar Rubbed Shell Steak.
"Since it was Mother's Day & an in between time, 3PM, I'm guessing that made quite a difference. The calamari was totally tasteless as if it had just been microwaved. While I asked for marinara sauce, they first gave me cold cocktail sauce. The waitress was nowhere to be found. The shrimp dish was good. What a disappointment because I usually enjoy this restaurant but wish that I had gone somewhere else to celebrate as there are many other good restaurants in Mt.Kisco."

"Lexington Square Cafe is my go to restaurant for family events. We had my Mother's surprise 65th birthday party there. The food is consistantly good."

"This was the second time I ate at this restaurant; the first time was over a year ago. We liked the atmosphere, and the service was very good. The food, however, was not stellar. I had the cod stuffed with crabmeat, and I did not enjoy it. The fish had no flavor, and the primary flavor in the stuffing was onion; I didn't taste crab at all. They redeemed themselves with the dessert, however - we shared a chocolate mousse dessert and it was excellent."

"I ordered Jasime rice with ginger and got white rice. With the new menu portions are smaller. Service efficient but abrupt. No longer very welcoming."

"Always enjoy brunch at Lexington Square....until this time. Portions were skimpy and cold. My husband ordered a bagel with lox. When it arrived there was only two pieces and a cold bagel. Also one small tomato slice. My eggs were cold as well. Will go back because hopefully they will straighten this out."

"We have been dining at Lexington's for almost 20 years and lately have been increasingly disappointed with the food. Typically service has been good but the night we were there they were short handed. It does happen. I think if I go back I will stick with my favorite, the salmon sandwich, otherwise will not be back anytime soon."

"I have been the LC many times over 10-15 years and always had a great time and meal. Saturday, we were a party of 6 and I have to say that although my meal (crab stuffed sole) was good, the both people who had the shrimp dish complained they were dry and hard and the 2 people who had the steak complained that it was tough and hard to chew. The other person had the fish with the tai curry sauce and he was a not happy with it. I actually recomended that he have this because I had it a year or two before and it was very good. I noticed it didn't look like the fish I had so I am not surprised. We were also disppointed that it took a long time to get a drink at the bar, the attendents seem to be dealing with wine bottle orders. No eye contact"

"We might hesitate to return because of the noise lever. The category missing above is friends getting together to eat and talk! The menu has something for everyone, and the restaurant is attractive and well run.
The noise seems a new issue - possibly we were in a poor location."

"We meet family and friends the Monday after Easter for lunch. We travel to the Lexington Square Cafe from the Jersey Shore and just love it. This has been a tradition we started about 5 years ago and always look forward to it. Thank you."

"The food was good but not inspired. Huevos Rancheros were spread on a tortilla shell with beans/eggs/cheese with a light broil with some warm roasted potato cubes and some overcooked sausage that was pretty dry but edible. The "chef's" interpretation on corned beef hash browns was boiled cubed potato with par boiled corned beef that was fatty and cubed mixed together. Get a new recipe because it was lame. Rather than serve bread, we were served cut up pieces of un-frosted cake to look like bread. We asked for bread to replace the early desert and received three pieces for three people. The gap between Manhattan dining and Mt. Kisco is equal to going to the midwest. Unfortunately, with so few games in town, I'd go again."

"I had raved about their lobster salad which I've had many times. The chef changed it and it was disappointing. There was one lettuce with razor sharp edges, slivers of bacon, tasteless yellow tomatoes and a barely discernable dressing. There was lots of lobster.
We told the waiter who said he told the chef and manager. Nobody came over. I actually called the manager later. For $24 each, we were not happy."

"I had a business lunch meeting here, primarily for a quiet location. Overall, fine. Food (we both had salads) was good, not great. Service a little slow. Good location for conversation, but was not wowed by the food."

"We experienced extremely poor service on our Sunday night visit. Our waitperson was more concerned with talking to other waitstaff then taking care of us. My wife received the wrong food because of the restaurant's awkward procedure of having runners deliver the food. Obviously there is a problem with both the kitchen management as well as the food preparation, which was careless. The food was delivered after a long wait (the restaurant was not full) and was not as hot as it should have been. We had to continually flag down other employees in order to correct deficiencies. We are regular customers and are concerned that the management just doesn't care anymore."

"The overall experience was ok at best. They appeared to be well staffed but we had....too many....waitresses at our table. Plenty of buspersons but the often long wait to have dishes taken away and fresh water poured. At least 3 hostesses none of which came to our table or acknowledged our leaving. Food was ok but for more than $100 with tip..... and no alcohol, I can get better meals and feel more appreciated for half or less the cost."

"Lexington Square Cafe never disappoints. I went for a quiet dinner with a small group of girlfriends. We had a glass of wine at the bar, a fabulously prepared dinner, and dessert so delicious you'd like the plate if no one was looking."

"I recently dined at Lex Square for the first time. It was my second date with a woman who I am interested in continuing to see, so I was hoping all went well.... and well it went ! They seated us in a quiet, romantic , out of the way area of the restaraunt ( per my request) where we could talk and enjoy a view of the falling snow. The service was fast and very accommodating. We never felt rushed and were assured service was close by. The food was cooked perfectly and served hot. The sea scallop dish is recommended as is the calamari appetizer. We definitely will return and recommend to our friends !"

"My wife and I had dinner at 8:30 on a Saturday night. We were seated next to the specials board, as our waiter pointed out. After deliberation, my wife chose the fish special, only to be told they were out of it. The waiter left to give us more time. When he came back he took my wife's order (off the regular menu) and then I asked for the short rib special only to be told they were out of that as well. How hard is it to put a line through the specials on the chalkboard that you are out of, or for the waiter to mention this upfront!? My wife's choice - the Bronzino - was dull and flavor-less. Oh, and the busboy brought over our entrees while we were still eating our appetizers. He disappeared with them back into the kitchen. ;-("
