"We came to Boston to celebrate my husband's 65th birthday. I spent a day in Boston two years ago and loved the look and feel of the City and wanted to return for a longer stay. My husband wanted to see Boston so I booked it and decided to stay in the hotel for dinner the day of our arrival which was his birthday. In this era of fast food and instant everything it was nice to sit down at tables with white table cloths and excellent wait staff. The prices were very reasonable for fine dining and the food was very good. I've never had scrod and this weekend I discovered what scrod actually is. Friday's scrod was excellent. We also had the buffet breakfast every day at the Parker House and it was excellent as well."

"The steak that we had were just right. Service was wonderful. The Parker roles were cold and hard. We asked and sure enough they were made in the morning. The server just rolled his eyes when we pointed this out. I could not eat the Boston Cream Pie due to the almonds on the sides. My husband ate this with me trying it in the center. It is really a mini cake with some cream in the center. It was dry with not much cream. I had the chocolate torte instead which was very good. One of the reasons we ate at the hotel was to try out the Parker roles and Boston Creme Pie. Was disappointed."

"I have been to Omni Parker house few times, everything was great. The service was good, but could be a little bit quicker. The food came out way to slow as I was in a French restaurant for a 5 course dinner. Hopefully next time when I go back it will be quicker. Other than that it was great."

"The food was very well prepared and presented. Steak was well prepared (medium rare as requested) and the best french onion soup I've had in ages. Lobster also wonderful. Service was as you would expect from a more expensive restaurant -- the right level of attentiveness. Only disappointment were the famous dinner rolls -- obviously reheated (so very dry)."

"Native Bostonian, first time ever at this establishment and we were happy to eat here finally! We were given this visit as a gift from family and it was a very special experience. Everything was wonderful from the service to the food I had a Delmonico Steak suggested by our server and my wife had the filet mignon. Absolutemente, delicioso! We felt special here! "Although the atmosphere of the dining room was lovely and the service very fine, our lunch (tenderloin of beef) was so disappointing. My beef was prepared to my liking, but my husband's piece was tough. The sauce, which I thought might be mushroom tasted like it came out of a can. Also, the vegetables were beyond al we dente (undercooked)as were the fingerling potatoes. It is not a dining experience that either one of us would repeat."

"I went here with a couple of friends from San Fran for lunch on a Tuesday. One of our party hadn't been to Boston before, so wanted to give him the full Boston experience. The food was very good if a bit on the pricy side (but Parker House is on the high end so it's not as if we didn't expect that.) Loved the Parker House rolls, the clam chowder and of course, the Boston Cream Pie for dessert. The wait staff was extremely friendly and attentive."

"Parker House is one of Boston' venerable dining locations. There were 4 of us and we all had different entrees (e.g. Filet, Scallops, Salmon, Haddock), and all were excellent. The sauces were top notch. The wait staff were obviously highly experienced professionals, who were courteous, polite, and knowledgeable. WE have also had brunch there previously and it was excellent as well.
The atmosphere is definitely higher end, with an older Boston elegance. If you like wood, they had lots of wood."

"We really enjoyed celebrating my daughter's birthday by having dinner at the Parker House. I had the scrod and my daughter had the Surf and Turf. Both dishes were delicious. I would suggest that more vegetables be added to the plates, though. The entrees are pricey, but worth it for a special occasion. The Boston Cream Pie we had for dessert was delicious. The waiter served it with chocolate covered strawberries, on "the house" as a birthday treat. This was a very nice touch. I would also like to mention that our assistant waiter, Ram, was fabulous. He was very attentive, courteous and friendly."

"Parker's is one of the last remaining institutions in Boston that provides old world service in an old world setting. Service is gracious, attentive and reliable. Dishes are well executed but don't expect anything with foams, unusual ingredients or fussy presentations. If you want a Shrimp cocktail or Delmonicao steak that brings back memories of the past, then this is the place for you. "We thoroughly enjoyed our experience at the Parker House. The service was quite good and the food even better. Being Good Friday we both had fish dishes. My bride had their famous scrod and i had the scallops. We thoroughly enjoyed both dishes. We decided to endulge in desert sharing both the Boston Creme Pie and the carmel custard. They are small personal sized portions which were delicious and good for the waistline!!!"

"I came here for a Restaurant Week and was very pleased. The restaurant had a very classic ambiance in a beautiful hotel. The staff was very welcoming and friendly, which isn't something you normally see from a restaurant of this caliber, especially during Restaurant Week. Service was prompt, and the food was great. The smashed potatoes with bacon were a winner, the balsamic reduction with the steak was a great touch and perfectly sweet, and I highly recommend the legendary Boston Cream Pie! I had never had Boston Cream Pie that smooth and airy. I would come back for brunch when family comes to visit. It's also a great location for a fancier lunch downtown."

"Very attentive wait staff from the head waiter to busser's. Filet mignon was probably the best ever experienced. Scallops were almost as fantastic, but still among the best prepared. Only 1 very slight "marr" was of some wilted / soggy lettuce in one of our salads, but certainly not enough to detract. Well prepared cocktails and good wine-list variety. Very tasty deserts. We haven't previously been to this restaurant, but we certainly intend on coming back."

"Very thing about the Parker House Restaurant was wonderful. The hotel and the dinning room are elegant with old world charm. The service was excellent, our waiter was attentive, friendly, and helpful. The food- well it probably was the most delicious meal I have ever had."

"I thought that everything was good enough at the Parker House restaurant but did not really wow me. Onion soup was light on the cheese, the salad was not particularly creative (rocket salad) - arugula and few beets, pan seared chicken was very good. Service was good but not great. I also thought a bit on the pricey side for what was served. Sunday brunch was okay, nothing to wow you either.
We did receive in our room 2 delicious Boston Creme Pies -- we would have actually bought some to take home but when we checked out on Sunday the small shop to the side of the lobby did not have any -- clerk said maybe some would be sent later in the day to the store."

"For a Friday night the place was deserted which suggests a good venue but resting on its past reputation. Guests were seated in a clump for the staffs convenience and few servers were in evidence. Overall an adequate dining experience but now the location has been checked off the to do list and there is no compelling reason to go back."

"The Parker House is an iconic restaurant in Boston. The ambiance is elegant and reminiscent of a time when dining out was a more formal event than it is these days. The menu is limited and not one to impress serious foodies. But they do what they do extremely well."

"Food was very good.
Waiter was very flaky. He took our order. He delivered the appetizer but did not bring spoons for the soup. When he did bring the spoon it was only one and we needed two. The other dishes were delivered by the bus person. We did not get proper silverware for a long time after we asked. We waited a while after finishing our entrees for the waiter to return to ask if we wanted dessert. We ordered but again it took a while to get the proper silverware for the two of us to share the dessert.
I guess we were expecting to get better service based on the history of the restaurant."

"The wait staff was pleasant and the food tasty, though the hostess and reservation process soured our experience.
The website directs you to OpenTable to make your reservation (no problem there). We made an 11am reservation, arrived on time, only to be told by the rude hostess that they don't start serving until 11:30 and they had "no record of our reservation anyway". When I offered to bring up my confirmation on my phone she decided to double check and sure enough, there was our 11am reservation. Not sure why they offer the option of making a reservation as early as 9am if they don't start serving until 11:30. I even tried to call during business hours the day before to confirm, but got a recording directing me back to the web."

"I had brunch there with my boyfriend and the food was fantastic. I think there was a tour going on while we were there so we got to listen in and learned that this is where JFK proposed to Jackie and where many more proposals have happened, so you can bet it's a romantic setting, if that's what you're looking for."

"Really slow service. Not attentive. Took way too long to take our order, then we sat with uncleared plates in front of us for a long time. Food was okay but they really need to change the menu. More fish, chicken and healthier choices would be good. The menu selection is very limited. Our business guests became visibly irritated with the poor service. Like the proximity to our offices but planning to look for other suitable venues."
