Michael Anthony's Cucina Italiana
Truly a family affair in the tradition of old world Italian eateries, Hilton Head Island residents Tony and Becky Fazzini, along with their niece Jill Boyd, opened Michael Anthony’s Cucina Italiana in January of 2002. Now celebrating their 12th year in business, Michael Anthony’s was recognized in 2010 by Open Table diners as one of the "Top 50 Italian Restaurants" in the United States! The Fazzini family, originally from the Philadelphia area, longed for the quaint authentic Italian eateries found in the Italian neighborhoods around the Philadelphia area which were modeled after the trattorias of the small towns of Italy. It was a desire to offer this fine cuisine, paired with some of the best wines in the world, in a more contemporary upscale environment that launched what is now recognized as one of the finest restaurants in the region. Along with their professional and attentive staff, Michael Anthony’s will provide a dining experience you will long remember!

"Always a dependably enjoyable dining experience when we come down to Hilton Head. All of their dishes are wonderfully executed. The staff's knowledge of ingredients and preparation is impressive. This particular evening, the staff was a little too supercilious, but after a few good bottles of wine, that can be overlooked! Ambiance is warm and inviting...downstairs seating has a little older feel; upstairs a little trendier."

"Michael Anthony's has become our favorite restaurant the food, service and ambiance are far above the average. Our waiter JP was the best he knew all the specials and how they were prepared. Everyone of our party of four finished everything on our plates. As locals we have the opportunity to go to many of the restaraunts in the area and when we have company this is the first choice."

"I am a gourmet oook and thus I was pleased with the preparation of the trout and the beat salad. I would venture to say that this is the best restaurant on the Islad. I would rate Red FisH, Aleander's & Chart House a close 2nd. Howeer you will pay more at Old Fort Pub than the three second place. I believe Michael Anthony's was a great 3rd place and diversion from seafood. We felt CQ's would come in last on all counts. The food was fine, not great & the service fair."

"Superb meal with an outstanding server, Justin. The Carpaccio was great as was the meatball appetizer. Table had salmon, fresh pasta special, chicken parmesan and Mediterranean Sea bass. "A first rate Italian restaurant in an area which provides fierce competition for fine dining. The ambience was busy as opposed to romantic, the service was prompt and friendly and knowledgeable, and the food was fresh and tasty. As an example of their attention to detail, the maitre d' noticed my wife looking at her glass of Prosecco, which was not very bubbly, and brought another glass from a new bottle without being asked. We followed the waiter's suggestions for wine and were very pleased. We will return here when we revisit Hilton Head."

"We went there expecting delicious Italian food. We got way more than that. The place was charming. The staff was attentive, knowledgable, and friendly. The wine list was extensive, and we all enjoyed a different wine flight, finding a number of "new favorite" wines from the list. We were able to order dinners as starter portions, 2 pastas in one dinner, choices beyond what the menu showed. From the apps we had favorites of scallops, beet salad, and pasta fagioli. The pasta was homemade and wonderful. Gnocchi, bolongnese, nightly specials, every single dish was perfect. just when we thought we couldn't eat another bite, we had desert. Blood orange sorbet and chocolate lava cake, so good we ordered seconds. This place is a must try."

"Looking for a great restaurant to celebrate my wife's birthday and our sole opportunity to dine out the two of us while visiting HHI, I chose Michael Anthony's based on the overwhelmingly positive reviews I found online -- and my expectations based on the reviews were far exceeded. The moment we walked in the restaurant, the hosts welcomed my wife with a "happy birthday" and showed us to our romantic booth table. Thereafter, we were greeted with Prosecco for a celebratory toast and some delicious bruschetta (all complimentary). All aspects of the meal from there on out -- food, service and all else -- were perfect. I can't thank our server, Justin, and the rest of the staff of Michael Anthony's enough for making our night so enjoyable!"

"Our second time for dinner at Michael Anthony's. The first time was an excellent experience, but we were trying to eat out on a somewhat reduced budget this year so we tried the early bird special. For $54, exclusive of tip, we each had wine and excellent meals consisting of salad, entree and dessert. The portions were advertised as being somewhat smaller than the same items from the menu, however, they were more than ample. The restaurant environment is highly conducive to having a conversation so, if you actually want to have a great meal and easily talk with whomever you are with, you won't be disappointed. Should we be fortunate enough to be able to return to HH again next year, we will most definitely dine again at Michael Anthony's."

"We decided to dine at Michael Anthony's when of course family was in town visiting, we thought OH No! it's Sunday but we were pleased to see they are now open for dinner on Sundays. When we arrived we were greeted by Becky with a smile. We were seated upstairs in there cooking school and it was beautifully decorated, warm and inviting. When seated Ian served us and he was energetic friendly and accommodating. We had a few special request and without hesitation both Ian and Chef Chris said "no problem". The food was outstanding! Thank you to a wonderful staff working and making our evening such a pleasant one. When we left we stopped by the Italian market and picked up specialty items. Becky was there smiling again when we left. Wow!"

"Our visit to Michael Anthony's,was a stellar evening.We sat upstairs,which was a first for us.Lovely,and quiet.Wait staff was excellent,and the food was wonderful.My veal rollatini,with spinach,sausage,and sharp provolone was excellent.Let me say,not at all heavy with any one ingredient,especially the cheese.It was lighter which I was very happy with. My husband had the homemade tortellini,wonderful,with a perfect pomodoro sauce.We had returned after a very long time,but know we will not let too much time go by before enjoying another great dinner at this gem of a restaurant.I must say this new chef,to us is better the the original. Go and enjoy!! Hilton Head Island,locals"
