"It's so hard for all the ladies to find time to get together and catch up. This restaurant was the perfect place for us to take our time in ordering and talking. We were never rushed and the food was perfectly prepared (and we modified the menu selections and everything was done correctly). The waitress was attentive to our needs and the timing of the courses was perfect. It's a beautiful recently renovated dining room that is great for larger parties or just a romantic dinner for two."

"I made my reservation two days in advance, but I was notified one hour before we were to arrive that there was only one table available, and that one was a "bar table," since they had booked a party. Fortunately they were able to squeeze a regular-sized table into a corner. Service was very slow, and the noise level was high due to the party. My companion liked his veal scallopini, and my salad with grilled salmon was fair. They served the table with a bread basket, butter, and olives. We decided not to wait for coffee and dessert, since the staff seemed to be very busy with their other guests."

"Food was fair for this visit to Ruvo, not great. Perhaps impacting my rating was the fact that they sat us in the bar area, high tables and very noising. Not that I would usually mind that, but with the guests we were with (they don't drink) it was enjoyable. Add to the fact that it was a Friday night, so the bar was very loud. They called to confirm the reservation, perhaps they could have told us they only had a table in the bar area. Next time I know to request."

"We have always enjoyed Ruvo. This time we had a party of 6 for a 6 PM reservation, were 15 minutes late arriving due to traffic, and it was restaurant week with all tables full. We were immediately shown to our table, but thereafter the service was slow. Both the waitress and kitchen seemed a bit overwhelmed. Nevertheless, the food met our expectations once we received it."

"We went to Ruvo West with family members and enjoyed the start of Long Island Spring 2013 restaurant week. As always, the food was delectable, we all tried different dishes and no one was disappointed. Their wine list, even by the glass has something for everyone. Ambiance and decor are fine, rustic Italian, especially the beautiful reclaimed wood floors. Our table was ready with no delay and the wait staff is attentive. Go to Ruvo anytime for a great meal."

"Went on a Wednesday evening - all in everything was excellent. Waiter extremely friendly and attentive. I had heard mixed reviews about the service there including people had had dined as recently as a few weeks prior. While the restaurant was about half full, we had just the right amount of checking back, including refilling bread, olives, water etc. The timing of the courses was well paced.
Each of us at the table ordered prix fixe - and it was a real deal. THe food was excellent and the portions were very filling. One of our party cannot eat sugar and the waiter immediately suggested he could do a fresh fruit substitute.
Would recommend and will return."

"Seems prices have increased significantly recently. Menu said price fix, then had a different price for each entree. That would be a 3 course meal, not price fix. The reduced menu for Valentines was too restrictive - ridiculous amount of fish, not much else. My steak was OK, but not worth $60, even with the starter and dessert. Also there was seating right next to the front door behind a sheet. I kept knocking into the guy sitting there. They just did some renovations, should have fixed that first. Overall it was OK, but not was it used to be."

"As always, we had an excellent dinner, despite the fact that they were packed to the gills and it was Valentine's Day evening.. They have a varied menu-more lately than prior. For a while it was apparent that going here would be a "predictable" experience as far as the food went. And it is a very popular venue in this area-mostly frequented by locals.The waitstaff and management is attentive to your needs and I've never had a disappointing meal. I've recommended it to my friends and clients."

"Ruvo has stepped up their game...creating a chic (almost NYC style) ambience, great food presentation and very good food and friendly servers.
In reworking the restaurant, they may have squeezed in a few too many extra tables, but overall, presentation is quite nice.
Went on Valentine's Day- and server remembered when we were there last (which was back in November!) Nice touch.
Offered a nice sampling on their menu for this event and food came presented nicely.
I found my shrimp cocktail below average (2 shrimp were really tiny) and nothing special - but the other appetizer ordered was a short rib egg roll - which was excellent. Surf and turf and scallops over risotto for main meal were both very good.
