"Ruvo is pleasant in decor and ambience, although the noise level is a bit high. Our server was attentive and friendly, but never obtrusive, The attraction is the food itself, which is prepared interestingly but not pretentiously. The duck is outstanding, the pasta very good, and the special of swordfish with guacamole was a treat--prepared underdone just as ordered. We had a nice house wine, though the by-the-glass serving wasn't particularly generous. After 9:00 a band with a mainstream repertoire ehtertained at the bar."

"Delicious food and large portions (almost too big!), prix fixe mother's day menu was amazing and everything was so good! Crab cake appetizer with lentils, Spinach and crab stuffed cod entree, and and chocolate peanut butter cake with ice cream for dessert were all amazing.
The atmosphere is beautiful, small but not cramped, bright sun light space with yellow walls and white table clothes, very Tuscan feeling. Good wine, great service. All around great experience! We went there for a celebratory dinner back in November and had a similarly excellent experience."

"We had a very good experience at Ruvo. They had some specialty drinks that were very good. The bread (which my family has a particular weakness for) was really good - we asked for seconds !
Our waitress was very attentive and pleasant. The only service hiccup was that the person delivering our entrees (not our waitress) mixed up who got what. No biggy - we corrected the oversight ourselves.
The entrees were really nice with the portion sizes being perfect.
We live in Westhampton but like an occasional trip to Port Jefferson. Ruvo will definitely be part of our restaurant power rotation !"

"Celebrated our 5th wedding anniversary at Ruvo. Had a wonderful experience! When I booked on open table I stated it was a special occasion (anniversary). They had a special table held for us and then when they brought our check told us that desserts and coffee was on them!! We were totally shocked! This type of treatment is not as heard of today. Great restaurant, delicious food and friendly staff! Thank you :)"

"Another notably delicious evening at Ruvo. The "dome" room is especially romantic and picturesque, setting your appetite for a memorable meal. We were greeted warmly by a waiter bringing us fresh ciabbata and whole grain slices, along with EVOO and olives. I ordered the off-dry riesling to drink along with the diver scallops/butternut risotto, drizzled with arugula pesto appetizer. A delectable start, prepared perfectly. My husband savored the PJ brew with his "grandma" meatballs. For entree I had the braised shortribs/horseradish mash and he had crispy duck with risotto, which he had loved last time. The meat most tender, flavorful and satisfying. Portions were generous, so we didn't partake in dessert. A perfect birthday dinner!"

"The food was great, but the service, our table waiter was awful. We had to ask what is happening to our waiter. We were never introduced to our waiter. Someone had to go inside to find the waiter. Never attended to us. Never asked how everything was. Did not seem to hear us when we asked for things. Not sure where his head was at. The place was nice and the wine was good also. Wish the service was better."

"We've been to Ruvo East many times and this was our least favorite experience. My girlfriend ordered the salad with peaches and what was supposed to be candied nuts. There were nuts in the salad but they were plain. She also ordered the rack of lamb and when she requested mint jelly to go along with it, we were told they didn't have any. It was also a little chilly sitting by the window. Not sure if we'll return."

Our young server was that familiar with how many of the dishes were prepared,the busboy went out to smoke and came back and was bussing our table after appetizers and reeked of cigarettes. The best part of the meeeal was the ambiance and the company who we shared it with. Would not return."

"Loved the atmosphere in the dining room. The food was delicious. My fish was a little "heavy" but that was the sauce and not that it was cooked poorly. The mussels were outstanding - best I've ever had. The duck was terrific. Crunchy skin and juicy meat. The dessert was so good (gluten free-makes me very happy!). Wine list was great as well. The only complaint was that it was a bit drafty by the windows. It was also 18* outside so that may have not helped matters. We'd definately go back."
