"Love the menu choices and cooking oils and dips. The service was just okay. We come here annually for our son's birthday and 2 years in a row have had the same below average server. I would return because the food and atmosphere are fun but I would request to not sit in this server's section."

"We brought my 88 year old Mom here for Mother's Day. What a treat! She is hard of hearing and the friendly staff saved a table for us that was very quiet and private. The decor is dark, lush and intimate. It's sort of a labyrinth of booths going on and on. The food was wonderful; a very unique experience. And, aside from the dessert, very healthy. Cheese fondue, a wonderful salad, meat and vegetables made up the first three courses of the special pris fixe menu. Dessert was a very decadent pot of chocolate into which one dips strawberries and various confections like pound cake, brownies, etc. The dessert is OK for a special occasion I guess, but be forewarned, it's very very rich. All in all, a wonderful experience."

"Although our server was wonderful, very knowledgeable and friendly, our overall experience was less than thrilled, especially for the price. We had all selected a 4-course dinner but were left unsatisfied at the end, with the exception of the dessert. Dessert was excellent and would definitely come back for that, but not for a full dinner again."

"This is a great restaurant for conversation. The ambiance and low noise level are really pleasant. The food is great and our service was outstanding! Highly recommend."

"This USED to be a great restaurant. For some vauge reason, they changed the flow and menu. Now, it is very expensive and also everything has to be selected - a job! It was probably done to increase profits. Servers are not American anymore and therefore not very friendly. Many cannot speak English and probably don't pass E-Verify. In the past, guests were treated special - now, it felt like the restaurant was doing us a favor by having us there. If things are not improved, this restaurant is going to close. Why are prices so high when WE have to cook our own food? Why is gratuity added to parties of 5 or more - should it not be 8 or more, if at all? The servers really do nothing & are serving too many tables & not available. Please change."

"I did not like the change in the menu and ordering options. This is a pricey restaurant to begin with, even more expensive now. Good food for the "special occasion"."

"The Melting Pot was a great little date night place. It was a bit noisy with a table of kids next to us but after they left it was your usual restraunt level noise. The booths are great because its nice and tucked away so it's private and romantic. We were served our courses promptly and everything was delicious. We knew going in it was going to be more expensive then a regular date night but the ambiance and food made it worthwhile. Will definitely be dining here again!"

"Melting Pot Irvine is a nice time no matter what time of day. You do still need to allot for plenty of time to eat even if it is lunch. Our server had a tendency to not come back for a long time and he was difficult to understand so we ended up with things and weren't sure what they were. Our entree was delicious-we had the The Classic and The Surf & Turf. It was way more than 2 people could eat! I wouldn't waste your time with the house salad-it was mostly iceberg lettuce and it had far too much of the parts near the stalk in it!"

"Went with a gal pal for lunch. Came specifically for their Restaurant week special (cheese fondue, salad and chocolate fondue for $20). Not our first time. The service, atmosphere and of course, the food is always amazing. Tried their new featured items. We loved the Bacon n Brie cheese fondue, great flavor combinations! Had the featured salad, with strawberries, feta and a walnut/rasp vinegrette also good. The white choc fondue was good. Not as rich as the other choc fondues, it was thin, too sweet and relatively not as flavorful as the other choc. Still worth a try if you are really in the mood for white chocolate. Always great to come out for restaurant week, you can't beat the deal."

"We were here for my friends birthday dinner with about 15 people. The restaurant worked with me to plan the menu ahead of time and went over all the details for the large party. When we got there, the table was set up beautifully with cute menus preprinted with the birthday girls name on them! The staff was great, especially out server. The food came at the right times and we just had a wonderful evening. Thank you!"

"It was a nice experience. This is the 3rd restaurant that we have gone to for restaurant week. IT seems that most restaurants do not encourage you to use the restaurant week menu. They then tend to treat you less cordially for using it. I patronize all of the restaurants normally, and I definitely noticed a difference in the wait staff when we use the restaurant week menu."

"The food is always good, but the service varies. This was my second time there this week and I ordered the usual cheese, chocolate, and a salad. All were delicious as always."

"We have been here several times before. My wife loves it for her birthday. This time was also her birthday. However in the previous times the restaurant has always acknowledged birthdays with flowers, or scrolls about events on the date, or some other nice acknowledgement. This time while the waitress acknowledged it was my wife's birthday (I had told them) they did nothing. the food was still great and entertaining, but the lack of any acknowledgement (especially given the past experiences) was dissappointing."

"The Melting Pot was absolutely fabulous. We had a reservation for a date beginning at 5 and didn't get out until around 8, but that was due to the fact that the food is delicious and the atmosphere is so relaxing that we didn't want to rush ourselves. Our server was energetic and friendly, but not over the top or annoying. The food is delicious and worth the price you pay for it. Highly recommended for a nice long romantic date night. Make sure to make a reservation in advance, this place was packed (though you don't even notice as the seating is in small secluded alcoves which add to the ambiance)."

"Birthday dinner for my Son and Mother-in-law, there were 5 of us, 2 kids and 3 adults and they gave a big table in a quite back section which was nice.
We did the 4 course meal, with 4 different entree selections - it was a LOT of food! We tried the new Brie & Bacon - Cheese was not as thick as I would like, but wow that was delicious! And if you like strawberries and a smooth alcoholic drink, the Love Martini is an excellent choice! Great advice from our server who warned us that the new cream brulee fondue is very sweet - we stuck with our favorites: ying yang and dark chocolate snickers."
