"While this spot is among the restaurants at the waterfront, I had not noticed it before. I will definitely be returning. The food was original and outstanding. The appetizer arroncini were crisp and flavorful. The pasta with braised duck (duck is one of my favorites) was delicious, and the tiramisu was authentic and delicious (not the cakey stuff you often get, but real lady fingers smothered in sweet marscapone and expresso powder) - a great ending to a memorable meal. Service was prompt and polite, but not intrusive. Not overpriced. Do yourself a favor and give it a try.

"My husband and I have been to the 62 several times and every time we are impressed all over again. The food is SO good! My favorite is the Tagliatelle alla Bolognese - fresh pasta made daily - really, there is nothing better. The Bolognese is incredible - "lick the plate" incredible. One of my husband's favorites is the Garganelli - Red wine braised duck, cherries, kale - I can't even describe how delicious this dish is! I started with crostini - with a ricotta mix and roasted figs - I am now a LOVER of roasted figs! There really is nothing they make that isn't incredible!
I recommend this restaurant to everyone I know - it's THAT good!"

"The 62 is never disappointing. The wait staff are the best. We don't go to often; but when we do they recognize us as having had been there before and are so attentive. The food is the best (and I am hard to please). We usually go to dinner early and always have a great table near a window."

"I have eaten at the restaurant a number of times and Antonio Bettencourt and his crew never disappoint! The Portuguese style cod fish cakes were scrumptious. The arugula salad is always a favorite the flavors are so much more than the description. The "birthday girl " and I opted for the halibut it was cooked to perfection and served fresh and delicious. My husband ordered the sirloin and it was flavorful and cooked as ordered . For dessert we ordered the bombolini, toffee pudding and gelato again nothing but outstanding reviews. The perfect ending to an incredible meal! I would be remiss if I did not mention the service our waitperson Christina B. was attentive, efficient and pleasant only adding to a delightful evening."

"Salem is filled with touristy gift shops, flocks of people and the wonderful PEM Museum. Down near the water, there is a little restaurant that allows you to escape the noise and the tourists. The food is delicious, presented well and the menu will challenge your knowledge of ingredients and their combinations. Two words: Just go."

"Came here for our anniversary (which I noted on the reservation). Seated us immediately. Service was excellent. The server explained the menu and specials in detail. We got two apps, two pasta dishes and dessert. Everything was wonderful. They even brought us two complimentary glasses of Prosecco for our anniversary. We will definitely be back."

"I had heard it was fantastic at 62 but pricey, pricey was correct and food quality didn't align with the prices. The entree portion size was too small and the sirloin was incredibly fatty for $34. Such a nice place with great service but food was terrible- would not recommend"

"Made res for special occasion birthday dinner traded one suburb for another an hour away found this gem via google reviews and must say excellent food, outstanding actually and I would recommend to anyone.
Seated right away, very attentive server, creative drinks and busy atmosphere. We started with fried artichoke and olives. exceptionally good tasting. For entrees, I had a unique take on linguini (they served it with square spaghetti) and white clams and she the duck ziti - which she wouldn't shut up about ( in a good way).
The bread pudding and espresso was also excellent. Go here. We made the trip from the south shore (everything is so different up here) and were so glad we did."

"Came here with a party of four. Enjoyed having a drink in the nice bar area. There was little turnover so we could not get a seat but there was standing room (shared with the servers passing by to the bar tables.) The decor is modern but not too and there was just enough background noise (music and diners) that it was easy to hear conversation. Hostess and waitress were very accommodating and we had no problem tailoring a dish for food allergies. Food was delicious. Salmon and duck pasta were the standout entrees. Will absolutely go again when a classy night is desired."

"We loved 62 Restaurant and Wine Bar. This was our first time dining here. Our food was excellent. We ordered the Salami plate for an appetizer. These were house cured meats that were so good. For dinner, I ordered the Arugula Salad and a pasta dish. Both were wonderful. My fiance ordered the rabbit which was heavenly. Of note, on open table I put it was for a birthday. Our waitress had made a note of that a head of time and brought out dessert with a candle for my Fiance. We will make sure to eat here again when in town."

"I always make it a point to go to this restaurant during Salem's Restaurant Week. It is an affordable way to sample various restaurants, particularly those that are on the pricier side. The wine was great. The service was outstanding. For appetizers, we had the arancini, meatballs and chick pea fritters. The fritters were a little spicy and the arancini was so-so... but the meatballs rocked. We had the tagliarini... it was very good, but needed a little seasoning. The warm toffee pudding for dessert was fantastic...yum, yum, yum. Soon, I think I will sit in the bar, have a martini and a salad... and the warm toffee pudding. And I will definitely be back for restaurant week. My favorite Salem restaurant."

"Although we have been to 62 Restaurant & Wine Bar several times, we have never had anything but a great experience and this week's was no different. The food was very creative unlike many restaurant week menus and incredibly delicious. The service is wonderful as the staff makes everyone feel like they are the only ones in the place, even when busy. If you love food and want to be treated like kings & queens, try 62!"

"Portions were as described by our server, making meal selection easier. Nice to see the regular menu updates. We dined with friends who had never visited 62 and they were impressed by the ambiance and food. Service was a little slow, but it was a Saturday night and we enjoyed conversing between courses."

"Very disappointing. Made a reservation and requested "romantic" table as we were celebrating an anniversary. Arrived early - had a drink at the bar... in the lounge area was a couple with a child who was playing around and laughing. I don't expect that in the bar. We go to our table... only to be sandwiched between two tables in a noisy room. Told the waitress (who seated us) that we'd requested a quiet table for our special occasion. She said that they had lost half their dining space that night to a wine tasting "in the other room." Then the hostess or manager (?) came over. She said exactly the same thing. We decided to go back to the bar to eat. Didn't send us a drink or throw us an appetizer. And food was underwhelming, at best."

"This was our first trip to 62 having been regulars at a nearby restaurant that recently changed hands. We both started with a the Italian Tapas (arancini and crespelle) which were excellent. We both had half orders of pasta (Tagliatelle alla Bolognese and tagliatlee ai funghi). The Bolognese was very good. I found the tagliatelle ai funghi a bit heavy and somewhat bland. Good but not great. The service was excellent. Our waiter was personable, knowledgeable and professional. We will be back"

"We went for Valentine's Day it was fantastiC! Our waitress Emily was outstanding and made our visit extra special. It was our first visit and we were very impressed with the menu selection as well as variety of diverse foods. The food from the Valentine's special menu was dynamite and we hope to see some of the specials become regular items. Food was a ten and the service was an eleven! Emily was engaging, friendly, informative, and efficient. We will definitely be back! Outstanding!"

"Overall a great restaurant. The food was delicous. Had the lobster pasta for app and was delicious. The braised short ribs were the best I have ever had. Tasty and nice and charcoaled on the outside. Also had the rabbit, very good, not amazing but probably the best you could do with rabbit. Great place if your more concerned with taste rather than portion size. Definitely not a place for a "knuckle-fest" (ie...eat 'til you sweat). Good wine list. Only downer is the place is small so seating can feel a little cramped. Typical pricing for fancy dinner, 2 people with apps, dinner and a glass of wine each came to $130."
