"Place was hopping on a Saturday night - bar was just short of deafening...we were seated near several large groups which made it difficult to converse across the table...band in the background was good, but just added to decibel level.

Steaks were superb in every respect - perfect product cooked perfectly. Mac & Cheese was very average...

Wine list was a little thin, but reasonably priced."

"Food was over seasoned. A friend and I ordered their Kobe steak special and was disappointed. It was overcooked and overseasoned but the steak was very tender like it should be. "What a great find - and right in our neighborhood. Would never have gone since we understood it to be very expensive, however we were able to redeem a sizeable gift card. Passed on our reservation in the dining room for a more relaxed atmosphere at the bar. Bartenders were excellent and very glad to have us stay at the bar for the dinner. Drinks were great and a larger pour of wine that most places. Food was great and portions were easily shared. Will definitely go back sometime to have desert & coffee. Fun environment as the bar filled with patrons from the Barrett Jackson Car Auction!

"I am unable to reasonably rate the food because we didn't stay to eat. Our 8:15 reservation was not honored. By 9:00 pm, we still had not been seated and decided to leave. This was extremely disappointing considering that my husband and I were celebrating his 50th birthday. He was looking forward to eating at Mastros again and we were excited when we arrived only to be continually turned away from the counter with the hostess stating "just a few more minutes." Needless to say, we will never make plans to eat at Mastros again."

"One of my favorites in Phoenix. You will not find a better prepared steak than the bone-in fillet. It is fit for a king. The sea bass is excellent for those who prefer fish. The service is impeccable. The staff goes out of their way to make you feel like you are the most important customre there. You are never rushed or hurried. My only complaint is that the restaurant is too loud. It is hard to carry on a conversation in here with more than a party of 2 or 4. The food does make up for the loudness. I will make a point of eating here on every trip to Phoenix!!!!!!"

"As usual, Mastro's doesn't disappoint! I have previously visited Mastro's Ocean Club and Mastro's Steakhouse up north, but this was my first visit to City Hall.

As usual, the food was outstanding. The background music was slightly too loud, but not enough to distract from the ambiance."

"The food at City Hall is always stellar and it definitely was when we went. We had the Mambo salad, the Potatoes au gratin, the asparagus and the Pepper steak. All of it was so delicious, that is why we love this place. You can always count on amazing food!"

"We had an 8 o'clock reservation. We waited about 30 minutes for our table at the bar. The bartenders were extremely attentive, but extremely busy. It was pure entertainment watching them work the room. Our table was in the main dining room. A little loud, but good high energy. Our waiter was a little obnoxious. The food was really good. Started with the calamari, pretty good, but the remoulade was outstanding! We shared a wedge salad (HUGE portions of everything), the salad was fantastic. We enjoyed the filet we shared, but the crab gnocchi in asiago cheese sauce was the highlight of the meal!!! Very rich, but extremely delicious! For dessert we shared the butter cake - loved it! Overall a great dining experience!"

"Food is exceptional and truly one of Scottsdale's best steak restaurants if not THE best. Ambiance can be a bit annoying as the noise level in the room is pretty loud. We noticed several times that we had to yell at the table so that the person sitting scross from us could here. Nonetheless, it is worth it as the food and service are impeccable."

"Went there for a romantic dinner with the wife. Quickly seated and we were immediately greeted by the waiter and others who brought water and bread. Service was outstanding. The manager even stopped by to check on us. I had the bone-in filet and my wife had the regular filet. Her steak was incredible. I did not like the flavor of the bone-in filet however. That is not the fault of the restaurant but rather it was just not something I would get again. The side dishes and salads were very good. At the end of the meal they gave us a free dessert however, instead of asking what we would like to have, they just give you the most expensive dessert. Nice touch but it was not what we wanted for dessert."

"This was a great choice for our anniversary. We could not be happier. Everything we ordered was excellent. A lot of the reviews here say that it is pricey but I did not think so. Everything was priced accordingly I though. Since we don't drink the bill was just a little over $100, which is more than fair because of the quality and serving size of the meals, we had an extra whole meal with the leftovers the next morning!! lol Since our waiter knew we were celebrating our anniversary, he brought us a nice dessert with "Happy 6th Anniversary" written with chocolate on the plate. My wife loved this!!"

"Dinner was a holiday treat amongst friends. We had the Tuna Tartare, Scallops and Salad for appetizer. The tuna tartare is huge, scallpos were amazingly juicy. Dinner we all shared the Filet and Sea Bass. The sea bass was so flaky and moist it just melted in your mouth. The Filet was very flavorful with spices and cooked to perfection. Desert was no diappointment with the butter cake...mmmm need I say more."

"We were a family party and were put in a side room that seemed like private dining and was perfect. The service was impeccable, the food perfect and we were offered a great price on an excellent bottle of wine. We started out in the bar, the staff were friendly, engaging and fun. We were seated promptly and the service was flawless. Mastro's City Hall is at the top of our list for occasion dining."
